HORRIBLE service. My husband gets food from here everyday before work & they have forgotten multiple items multiple times. They even forgot to give us back our debit card once. When we finally had the last straw today, my husband went to speak to the manager after they forgot our drinks & spilled gravy all over EVERYTHING. Instead of apologizing, giving us back our money or even giving us another drink for free, the manager stood there & argued about how the gravy was«grease» even though he knew he & his employees were in the wrong. He told us it was our fault for forgetting to tell his employees that they forgot to give us our drinks(!!!). Their service is atrocious & frankly their manager’s behavior is disgusting. Needless to say, we will no longer be patronizing Brown’s Chicken. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Pretty good, kind of surprised this place is still around after so many years, but hey, you can’t go wrong with Brown’s Chicken! Even though i’m no fan of chain restaurants, I actually liked the food here, but it’s just the location that i’m real weary about. Not that great to have to sloooowww down to turn into the drive way entrance risking your vehicle getting hit but hey at least it’s not entirely busy here when we do come to eat. It is a favorite for my wife’s family, and I actually don’t mind it at all. I agree with vincenzo, it’s average chicken, not bad, but not the greatest food out there. Kind of what you get for what you pay for. Above average compared to KFC so that’s always a plus. I also give it to the employees, it looks like they try to do their job, but it’s just not there for them. I would probably not come here if I had other options. I WOULD if my family insisted, but just not at my option.

Really delicious fried chicken! I ordered two legs(my favorite) with a biscuit, cole slaw, and mashed potatoes. I also tried the fried mushrooms. The chicken was flavorful and very fresh-tasting. Both the cole slaw and mashed potatoes were tasty – the good old stand-bys. The biscuit was surprisingly moist(in a good way). I didn’t like that I had to pay extra for a sauce in which to dip my mushrooms. Seems a little stingy. The mushrooms also seemed very fresh, but watch out, you might bite into hot oil if you eat them too quickly. Let them cool. The restaurant seemed fairly clean. I wish they had more napkins out on the counter – it’s messy food and the few napkins they provide aren’t going to cut it. Also, the staff disappeared from the counter for a period of time. I wanted a refill of my water and said«excuse me» several times, but no one came to help. A little strange given that it was lunch time on weekday. Overall, great place and I will be back next time I am in Lake County.

The only time I get food from here is when I am picking something up at El Famous next door. I tend to disagree with some of the reviewers. The chicken is decent, but not all DAT!!! I have had several other menu items and never found anything above average. I get the sense that the employees don’t want to be there, but I take it to go. Sometimes it takes longer than usual to get food served. Decent but not great. Decent but not bad. Take it or leave it.

I use Brown’s Chicken and Pasta in Waukegan for Catering lunch meetings at work. With enough notice,(2days) they will have your order prepared and delivered(where avail) on time, very easy and convenient. I got into a pinch and had to order food for a meeting last minute, with only a few hours notice, the staff willingly and quickly put my order together which I had to pick up because of the rush. It was ready on time, packed carefully and the manager even helped me out to the car. I use this location because they work for me and I’m never disappointed.

Will have to admit we are not regular customers, but with a recent family party we used their catering service. Used the on-line catering tool and was called within 24 hours to confirm the order. The person who called back was great as I talked about my guest count and she suggested upping a few of my original amounts. Her knowledge was a life saver, as by the end of the party we had 2 pieces of chicken left and one spoonful of pasta… no leftovers! The chicken was amazing and several people were commenting how great the pasta tasted. No offense to Brown’s, but people were happily surprised to find out the food was from Brown’s Chicken! They also had mini desert cakes that were ½ price with a $ 100+ order and the kids and adults ate all 24 within minutes of them hitting the table. Delivery was right on time and even though we had no address for the party(it was at a beach) the driver got to the designated meeting spot perfectly. From start to finish they made the process easy and I will not only use them for our parties in the future, but would happily recommend them to anyone planning a party. I cannot comment on their location/dine-in, as I have never been there, but I am a 5 star catering fan.

Best fried chicken around. How KFC got popular and Brown’s almost completely failed I will NEVER understand… Not giving 5 stars because its in a bad neighborhood.

Chicken is always hot and fresh. Can’t beat the deep fried mushrooms and breadsticks… My mouth is watering now!

Nobody does Chicken like Browns. or so it’s been said. I cant remember, im a vegetarian now. Earlier today around noon my mom and i came here to get something to eat right after losing $ 600 on a vet bill for our lovely cocker spaniel. We wanted something quick and easy an i suggested we try Browns. They always have a great selection of sides that cater to any vegetarian. I ordered the Large fries and bisquit with a drink. My mom got the two Chicago style hot dogs with a side oder of fries. Btw. the large fries are in gigantic proportians so make sure to have a few others nearby to share with. They had some corn fritters on sample up front. Kind of like hushpuppies. Excellent in taste and 4 or 5 of them would have been $ 1.49 i think the cashier said. Pretty plain and boring day out and about but i just needed to put Browns out there for those that are unfamiliar with Chicago style chain restaurants. One more thing. its right in front of Kmart and next to Burger King and a burrito place. They also have a Mcdonalds across the street and a Wendy’s and a White Castle futhur down. Just in case you wanted to know.
