I am a big fan of this place. Large selection, wonderful staff, and unique products. My fiancée and I bought one of damn near every truffle when we were there last, so far every one has been perfect. Dark chocolate and raspberry, Champagne, Bavarian crème, every combination you can think of. They even have little truffles shaped like pigs, cows, dogs, etc. This place is now our go to for chocolates, we will be back soon and often.

Cute small candy shop on Main street with a huge variety of chocolates! I got a bag of chewy rainforest frogs and some chocolate truffles from the glass case. The chewy frogs were nothing special. They just tasted like typical sweet candies you can buy from the gas-station. The chocolate truffles were good but the after taste of the truffles had a weird milky cow taste that was strong. The ladies behind the counter were very nice and helpful but just based off the taste of the candy I don’t think I would make an effort to come back here. It wasn’t anything special to me.

I have to admit. I spent 30 $ in candy and chocolate today. Then I get home and we tried it. It wasn’t fabulous. I was underwhelmed and had serious buyers remorse. The Swedish fish had little taste so I don’t know where they buy them from. The chocolate peanut butter cup didn’t taste like much of anything and some of the candy on sale in the store was hard as a rock. I get sale but you would pay more for the dental work. I don’t think i will be back. There are better options

WORSTSERVICEEVER! Three people behind the counter, chatting, with only one other customer in the shop. Not one of them greeted me or let me know that they even saw me. I’ve been to this shop twice and both times I came away thinking«never again». How they stay in business is beyond me.

Even though when I saw the sign, I just heard a pretentious Frenchman in my head, there is nothing pretentious about this store. When I walked in there were so many sweets I had no clue where to begin. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and extremely helpful. Besides chocolate they have ice cream and… wait for it… old fashioned candies. I know where I can get my dad’s favourite Valomilks and my favourite Chikostiks… amazing! And on certain days(I believe Friday and Saturdays) they have Hot Chocolate. I opted for a box of truffles… I had to try some of them! So far I have tried the Pistachio(yum and love the bright green edible paint), Chambord Truffle(amazing if you love dark chocolate and raspberry), Pumpkin Pie Truffle(words cannot describe how much I thoroughly enjoyed this one… so creamy and it tastes like Pumpkin Pie mousse), and the Macadamia Nut Truffle(was ok… absolutely huge, but not my favourite). I have three more to try(most likely not tonight…): Wine Truffle, Salted Caramel Truffle, and Mayan Truffle. Will update you when I have consumed them, but also something to keep in mind… they offer classes on making chocolates!

If you look at the store front photo I added you’ll notice that the windows display what kind of tasty treats are hidden inside. I happened to glacé across the street and see the magic word«truffles». That’s really all it took! Allo is located on main street and is limited to downtown Waukesha street parking. If you have never been here it’s entirely hit or miss. Since it’s not as dense as Milwaukee you may find yourself in luck. Though it does get rather busy around here on the weekends. The best bet is park anywhere on Main St and check out all the little shops they have. On to the chocolate shop! Inside you will find a wide variety of treats. Candy bars, chocolate espresso beans. pretty much everything chocolate you can think of. While i was interested in all the little treats I was there for one main reason. So upon entering go straight and veer slightly to the left to the glass display case filled with a wide variety of chocolate truffles. I checked the website but it didn’t have a comprehensive list. that’s unfortunate. There must be 1 – 2 dozen varieties. Irish cream, Cocoa Dusted, something that was Brewers Colors and touted some sort of beer filling? There were too many really. There is seriously something for everyone. I am not just saying that either. They cover all the bases. They have minis that run $.99 and larger size chunks of goodness that run $ 2.50. There are variety boxes that come in 4 packs a dozen and 2 dozen. Honestly though the prices are getting up there for some chocolates. Just me? But hey for $ 2.50 I’ll stuff chocolate in my mouth. The other part of this review is the customer service. While the girl at the register was quite friendly to all the customers there wasn’t entirely a good system of ordering in place. I didn’t go straight to the register to order as other people who skipped us did. This is really only 3 or 4 feet to the left but we went unassisted while people off the street walked in to be helped before us. That will cost a star. Luckily I am good with non verbal communication and the young lady asked for assistance from the back(Not that it was busy). Oh well. A minor hiccup in an otherwise good experience People with a sweet tooth should love this place. They have a wide variety of your standard chocolates that you may find in your local candy shop but they really shine with the truffles. Pop on in!
