We came here for the first time for a friend’s birthday and it was so fun! Our friend reserved one of the picnic areas and it was a perfect space for the kids to run around, plus there was space for grilling and lots of picnic tables to hang out. Of course, the best part is the nearby nature playground. There is an awesome, 32-foot slide built into the side of a hill. My son had to have gone down the slide 50 times! There’s also a smaller slide, sandbox, a merry go round, and a huge climbing rock with a cave. This is a kids’ paradise! The park can hard to find. My phone GPS took me to a nearby neighborhood and I had to ask a resident for directions. The park ranger also was pretty grumpy, but it was ultimately sort of comical. In my mind, this is a must visit park!

If you’re looking for a place to throw a family reunion, a company picnic, or spend some time in the great outdoors, take a drive to Fox River Park. This park boasts outdoor shelters for your next gathering and a 30+ foot slide for the kids. Lots of trails for you bikers and runners. Bring cash because it costs a few bucks to enter, but well worth it.
