Great selection and atmosphere, but the drinks were pretty overpriced. We enjoyed our time there, but were a little put off by the bill.

Easy going place to grab a couple pints! Service was excellent, it was one of my friends birthdays so of course people were ordering goofy shots and the bartender took it in stride. She was such a delight. They also had live Irish music on that Saturday night, added to the already complete Irish pub theme they have setup. In the corner they also have a large selection of board games in case you wanted to get some competition going. We all had a fantastic time.

Stopped in here for a drink when I was in town for the holidays. I don’t recall ever coming here when I lived in Waukesha, which is a shame. It’s got a great ambiance, and the bartenders are really nice. I was recovering from a cold, so I ordered a hot toddy with Jameson. It was really delicious, with a cool presentation too. I make hot toddies at home, so I think I’m going to take a hint and start making them this way. I won’t say how, though. You’ll have to go to HoG and order one yourself.

They really need to teach their bartenders the proper pour of a Guinness. The worst Guinness I have ever had. The atmosphere was that of a real pub in Ireland but again teach the bartender how to pour a proper Guinness especially if u are going to name your bar the«House of Guinness«and a little friendliness goes a long way.

I’ve been frequenting House of Guinness for the last 10 years and it has consistently remained one of my favorite pubs. The beer selection is great and it’s the only place I know that carries Boddingtons on nitro. Their Irish whisky selection is solid though not massive but this is a small pub. The staff is friendly as are the regulars. This is a great place to meet friends for a point or a dram.

I no longer live in Waukesha, but when I did this was my favorite bar to go to. This is hands down the best bar in all of Waukesha. The selection of beer is excellent and the bartenders are friendly. The only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars is the fact that they added TV’s. It has definitely lost its appeal, for me since that addition.

Our favorite Irish pub. Sit on a wooden bench, drink a beer and listen to live music. Need to try brunch soon!

This is a very similar type of bar/pub you would encounter in Ireland. They have a good selection if Irish/British beers on tap and a pretty decent selection of whiskey. For whatever reason, the drink prices at this bar are higher compared to other bars in the area. The live music here is great, both in the warmer and colder months. When there isn’t live music, they sometimes have soccer matches playing in their flatscreen TV in the back. Most times it’s a really great selection of alternative music playing through an iPad or iPod they have hooked up to their sound system. The bartenders here have a great taste in music. Great place for a date, or small groups if you are lucky enough to snag a table or booth in the back. Service is excellent.

Descriptive word: Irish. I’ve been to House of Guinness a number of times, and each was a different but great experience. Located in downtown Waukesha, HOG is, in my opinion, the nicest of the many bars to spend the whole night(though the newly opened Bernie’s will give it a run for its money). It’s a relatively small space inside, and feels even more cramped with its heavy wood tables and chairs. However, I’ve been to Ireland and HOG makes a great attempt at being a simple Irish pub; nothing overly kitschy and more of an olden, warm feeling. I’ve been there for St Patty’s Day(THE place to spend it in Waukesha, but expect MASSIVE crowds), a bar crawl where they had live music and dancing, and even a whiskey tasting. Their selection of liquors is respectable, and they have around 10 tap beers. Prices are maybe on the expensive side for Waukesha, but cheap if you’re coming from most cities. It’s a go-to stop if I’m heading out in Waukesha. No question.

it seems like this is the place to watch the soccer game, any soccer game. I wasn’t there for any game but enjoyed a beer, real friendly bartender and reasonable prices. We haven’t found many places as enjoyable as this in the immediae area.

By far the friendliest pub in all of Waukesha! Many great beers on tap, nice staff, trivia on Tuesdays, cribbage tournaments, live music and now English Premier League soccer on the weekends! This place has become my home away from home!

The pub has changed ownership, and the environment has changed, to include food(unremarkable pub fare), and a television.

Stopped here for a drink while between wedding service and wedding reception several weeks ago. Since it was a Saturday afternoon place was empty but bartender was chatty and helpful with driving directions and kept glasses full. Reasonably clean with darts and tv’s.

As a bar, HOG is second to none. It’s homey, the bartenders are amiable, the musicians are good, and the draft beer selection is versatile. I also enjoy their Tuesday night trivia. The new food is decent and a good go-to if you’re already there and hungry, but I wish they had more appetizer-sized items to munch on during non-meal times. Keep in mind that this is a pub… no table service, just a shout out from the bartender when your food is ready. I find that really endearing. I noticed they put in a big-screen TV, too. I hope it doesn’t end up staying on all the time. This is a great place to sit and chat without distractions(unless it’s Tuesday!).

As far as I know, this bar is as close as it comes to a real Irish pub. If you’re looking for the faux-Irish, there are other places you can go — Mo’s perhaps. Anyways — great, friendly staff, been non-smoking since mid-winter time. My absolute favorite is the Scottish ale they have on tap. Prices are downright reasonable.
