Short Review: Amazing values to be found here. Longer Review: It would makes sense to assume that you’d find the best prices at a big chain store(GC) with huge purchasing power. It would be the wrong assumption and it doesn’t make sense that every guitar at Outpost Music is ridiculously cheap but doesn’t suck. The travel guitar I brought with me, to the ‘sha, was falling apart and frustrating me. I stopped by Outpost looking, specifically, for a really good value on a guitar that I could just keep at my parent’s house. To my surprise, I found myself with several really good choices. I found quite a few guitars for less than 2 bills that played really well. I opted for a new Jay Turser with an Alaskan sitka spruce top and mahogany sides and back that played and sounded almost as good, dare I say it, as my Taylor. Almost. For 1⁄10th the price, I’m pretty stoked! I paid just over $ 200, they included a gig bag, and I immediately found them used on Ebay for $ 350. What? Once I’d made my choice, I perused the electrics and found several that I would legitimately use on stage. Perhaps I’d upgrade some electronics but these guitars all played really well and many were less than 100 bones. I’m not sure if they ever have higher end guitars there but, for that, you have Cream City(epic). Outpost is a local music store with a perfect selection for the beginning guitarist or for someone looking for a guitar that isn’t too precious to take out in the harsh WI winter elements. You’ll find a better value guitar here than you will at GC because 90% of the guitars at GC need major attention. They also had a very interesting selection of used pedals but I’ve put myself on pedal restriction :)

This is a great music store! Anything that is not in stock Outpost will gladly order for a fair price. This is also a great store for music lessons with a friendly and knowledgable staff of teachers.
