My 5 and 6 year olds spent two weeks in an evening swim camp. They were the only two in the class, which was a half-hour long. The instructor was late starting the class and early to finish it. She looked at the clock every two minutes, and she appeared to be just going through the motions of teaching the kids to swim. I don’t think she likes her job. The kids didn’t improve much. I put the kid’s older siblings through lessons elsewhere, and they did much better. I feel that $ 400 bucks just went down the drain.

Swimtastic offers the best swim instruction EVER! Before trying Swimtastic, we went to the YMCA with our little 2 year-old. They had fun parent-child classes for her, which are great for when kids are learning to be comfortable in the water. But then she turned 3 and started group classes. She was wearing a floatation device during every class and spent A LOT of time waiting for her turn with the teacher. I felt like she had a new instructor every week. Some were fun and friendly, others just looked hungover. We decided to try Swimtastic when they were running a deal and did not return to the YMCA. the instructors were AMAZING! The owners are AMAZING! My daughter started swimming by herself within a few months. She was barely 4. Then, we enrolled my 2 year-old son. He was in a class without parents. Sometimes he didn’t want to be there, but Swimtastic helped him calm down and kept him in the water. It was exactly what he needed. He was swimming on his own, several feet, by the time he was 3. I was very sad when we had to leave Swimtastic because we were moving out of state. In our new city, I have not found a school that compares to Swimtastic. I still miss them. My daughter is now 6 and has mastered almost all the strokes, just working on her butterfly. My son is 4 and it an amazing swimmer. He blows everyone away when he gets in the pool. I attribute it to our time at Swimtastic. We have a good school here, but Swimtastic is truly a gem.

My son attended a birthday party here and I was really impressed. I guess it’s a swim school for taking lessons but have private parties too. What a great idea, especially for the kids who have birthdays in the winter or don’t have a pool. Staff was friendly and the place looked really clean. Smelled very clean too — all the chlorine(ha ha) A very small intimate building. Pool was a perfect size and not too deep. There were a variety of kids there and it was not too deep for any of them, I would say it was about 3 — 3.5 feet maybe. Heated too so it was nice and warm for them. Great for parents too who waited because there is the main room off the pool with a gigantic glass window so you can see the pool area and watch your little«fish» swim around. Don’t know much about the swim classes for the party, I think it would be a great place that most all kids and parents would like.
