The Loft & Chapel at Cedar Ridge

Just went here last Friday for a work Christmas party. The place is a little off the main drag, but then again, it is in Waukesha. It’s a little dark as far as ambiance goes, but rustic isn’t always a bad theme. I guess they have weddings/​receptions here a bunch which wouldn’t be my choice. I’m not hating, but it’s just not my scene. Bar is a little on the small side, and a little stingy on the tap beer. I will survive though.
The food was very good for a buffet. Chicken, ham, and roast beef (all freshly sliced) were the features, but the dish that stole the show was the carrots… you heard that right, carrots. They were «candied» with a healthy dose of bacon… mmmmmm bacon! I’m going to replicate this dish for the holiday season, and I will not be stingy with the meat candy.
