EC Moving and Storage Inc – Atlas Van Lines Agent

This place is truly a nightmare. I spoke with them to get an on-​the-​phone quote of around $ 2,000– 2,500 depending on how much I packed, and then they attempted to charge me over SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS to move a small one-​bedroom apartment.
When I confronted the owner about the obvious discrimination and bait-​and-​switch, he was incredibly rude and awful and provided no logical explanation for why his contract was for an extra 4 grand over the estimate.
EC Movers is a horrific excuse for a sleazy and discriminatory company. Do not use them under any circumstance, unless you like being robbed.

This has been a nightmare experience. The wrong size truck was sent. Half our belongings arrived almost 3 weeks after pick-​up (as overflow). Absolutely no communication of when delivery would happen — we had to make repeated calls for information — and we only got disinterested customer service staff. Overcharged 67% more than estimate (after agent walked through and expected all our things). Many items were damaged. Pick-​up agents initially gave up on moving certain items and only after Atlas driver persuaded them, did they agree to move (even though sales agent put them on his list as to be moved). My wife was in tears at one point during this experience. As a business owner myself it is hard to appreciate how this organization gets any repeat business.

They will give you a low quote to get your business, then turn around and try and charge 25%+ more.
Despite being tied to a reliable broker (Atlas), they are far far from being a reliable agent. I felt scammed and fleeced the minute they drove away with my belongings.
After my household was picked-​up by the movers, i was unable to get a hold of ANYONE until weeks later. They know they have you in a corner because they are holding all of your belonging, and that you will have to pay to see your stuff again.
By the time all of my stuff made it to my new home (4 weeks later) it was all damaged and scratched up. My claims are pending, but i have a feeling that i will get nowhere with these crooks.
… did i mention that WEEKS later, after i was already myself in another state and after many many phone calls… i finally received a response back that i would owe an additional 25% over the +10% as stated on my contract.
STAY AWAY, FAR FAR AWAY
