Food was good. Reservations are obviously needed as the waitress freaks out even though she says wait and i will seat you. Listen, if you can’t handle the business, just tell people sorry no reservation, no service. There was only 4 tables and she was freaking out. Then right before our food came she rudely tells us we need to bring friends with us because we need to relax and dine. I think she needs to relax and quit stomping past out table. Great food, over priced, service not good. Will not go back… you can have a great chef… but you need service for that price.

Ok, Main street is repaved and access from downtown Waupaca is much easier. We didn’t have reservations, but were told that they would be able to seat us. The restaurant is very small… I think seating is limited to about 20 diners. We weren’t sure about our dining experience, but went full out and ordered a bottle of wine. My husband had the soup and I had the salad and we swapped halfway thru. Both were excellent and we were wondering if the entrée would be as good. It was better !! Well-balanced with fresh vegetables and delicate sauce made it a delight. Knowing that they have awesome desserts, we added their wonderful crème brûlée with raspberries to finish our meal. It was creamy and smooth and wondered if their other desserts were as good(I’ve been assured that they are). Service is a little scattered; different people from the kitchen enter the dining rooms to serve, pour water, clear dishes, etc. Perhaps if one person was in charge of water, clearing dishes, greeting people, etc., it might run smoother. Maybe they were just short-handed tonight. We consider Green Fountain Inn a wonderful place for special, fine dining. I would encourage reservations We are planning on having lunch there soon.

We got a recommendation for lunch, and heard the deserts were fantastic. Upon arriving, we were accosted at the door by an angry women asking if we were the reservation that was late. Um, no. And you can stop glaring at us at our table too. Anyway, the food was yummy, I had a bowl of mushroom soup, to save room and cash for the desert. I had a chocolate-cherry cheesecake with chocolate-cherry crust, so good They also had a crème brule with a salted caramel sauce, and carrot cake. Small room, only 2 tables of people, so we got to hear all about the baker and how she invented salted caramel, and some horrible woman copied it. Come on, if you are going to change $ 10 for a sandwich, and serve it on china, you need your behavior to match the décor. Anyway, as good as the food was, I was not prepared for the $ 13 check. The cheesecake slice was 7 bucks. Yeah. In Waupaca. Lady’s if you are going to do high class, you need to act it, otherwise, lower your prices.
