Pretty much an «average» Wisconsin café. Decent coffee, decent eggs, decent toast, decent cinnamon rolls, decent prices. I am never afraid to stop here when we are visiting family, its been here forever and hasn’t really changed a bit.

This was my first visit to Helen’s Kitchen and my first visit to Waupun in general. It was a very nice, quaint place with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I got chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were delicious, but I was not too impressed with the bacon. It was thin and small. Overall, I would go back, and next time I’d like to try the French toast, which looked delightful.

Always a nice time when I decide to stop in at Helens for either a quick lunch, or breakfast. The food is well priced and above average. The wait staff are pretty friendly and check in to make sure everything is going well. The only reason it’s a 4 instead of a 5 is that sometimes I’ll go in and have lunch with a friend and we’ll be talking and just catching up and it sometimes feels like we’re being rushed out.

What a lovely restaurant! We came here on a whim for we were in the area. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely stop back at some point. Food was really good, diner was clean and nicely decorated, waitresses and staff were very friendly and you could tell enjoyed working there and with their colleagues.

Great comfort food. The best roast beef dinner ever. Great flavor. A bit much gravy but it so tasty. Clean restaurant and bathrooms.

I was home to Wisconsin visiting my mom and this has been her go-to place for breakfast for years. Now I know why. Helen’s has, hands down, the best country fried steak and eggs I have ever had. The steak was light, crispy and just the right thickness. The eggs were done perfectly. If you’re looking for gourmet or haute cuisine, well, keep looking. However, if you are looking for classic comfort food, Helen’s is the place.

Good breakfast place. The rest is your usual mom & pop diner establishment. If you like any spices or additional flavor, this is not the place for you.

Stopped in for breakfast on my way through– Solid, traditional american diner fare, worth the couple minute drive off of the highway if you are just passing by Wapun(or maybe picking up a relative from the prison down the road)

It’s kinda gross here, the food is so greasy.

Stopped in on our way through the area. A great little diner tucked into a small strip mall. Nice friendly service, good food at a great price. You have to go if only for the home made deep fried potato chips. Warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and spiced just right. And more home made pies than you could want.

Best greasy spoon breakfast I have had in years! It makes me sad that I cannot uproot this place and bring it back to Denver with me. Helen’s Kitchen is just about the most charming place I’ve ever been to. It’s a place where the waitresses give you the most sincere smiles and the best service anywhere. Maybe it’s a midwest thing, but I was happy to notice a lack of pushy and rushing attitude. The restaurant was full of locals. Everyone who came in was greeted by name. And although we were just visitors, I felt like we were greeted and cared for just the same way. For $ 4 and some change, I had two eggs, two sausage, hash browns, two slices of toast and unlimited coffee. Not only was it cheap, but it was delicious. I can understand why it is a local favorite. Definitely give this place a try if you live there or if you are passing through this sleepy town.
