Artrageous Weekend

A really great event! I hate to say this but, coming from two much larger cities, we weren’t expecting it to be as awesome as it was! So many artists — such a variety of beautiful items from photography, paintings, woodwork, clothing, jewelry, music and so much more. Loved seeing the large turnout of people too! Was truly a lovely event and we look forward to going back next year!

I haven’t had any cheese curds this summer so I had to look up when Artrageous Weekend is this year: So I marked my calendar for Wausau’s annual Artrageous Weekend, September 7 & 8, 2013. I’m being a little facetious here because this event is much more: strolling around downtown Wausau looking at a wide variety of collectible art or listening to entertainment at the various venues (plus snacking or eating a good lunch) is what has made this a consistently great experience over the years.
As mentioned in my original review the weekend schedule has 3 parts: Festival of Arts (downtown), Art in the Park (Marathon Park) and Birds in Art (LYW Museum). Lots of stuff going on: check out their website:

My wife and I regularly attend Festival of Arts (FOA) downtown. Over the years I have been impressed by the consistent high quality of collectible art shown downtown. A number of the exhibitors have stated that this is one of their favorite shows.
