BB Jacks

After going to BBs today, my family is confident we won’t bother going back.
Flavorless.over priced. mediocre food comes to mind.
Plus service wasn’t great. When we first arrived, it was only ourselves and another table in the dining area. We received our fried mushrooms within 10 minutes. They were fried in a bland batter. and the mushrooms inside were very watery and just overall soggy.
As our other food came out, a large group of 25 came in. Along with a couple who asked to sit in the dining area, but the waitress told them they were better off in the bar; they responded with, «we aren’t drinkers» and the waitress said, «well you won’t want to deal with the group in here» and proceeded to walk them in the other direction. Walking out later, I heard the woman complain about the situation.
5 minutes into the group being there, and we were forgotten. Even though 3 – 4 waiters/​waitresses were helping the group.
–My husband never got the water he asked for until we asked for a third time, at the end of the meal.
I ordered a side salad and bowl of chicken noodle soup.
The lettuce was just shredded ice berg lettuce. and I had a few small chops of tomatoes, and a few hard croutons on top.
My soups flavor was okay, but the noodles were very over cooked. But overall it wasn’t bad. I asked for some lemon with my water and was given the slimmest lemon wedge I’ve ever been served.
My husband ordered the Philly Cheese Steak. It was cold when it came out. The steak was more like very thin beef slices, with some cheese/​onions/​peppers on it. He didn’t like it. He also ordered a Canada Dry/​Crown Royale, it was $ 5.50 and it was strong.
My daughter ordered a turkey sandwich. She enjoyed it, and the fries with it.
Too many «flops» for us to go back.

We stopped for a quick dinner returning from out of town. The parking lot was 75% full but we were seated right away. Waitress took our drink and appetizer order and took a long time to bring drinks. Glasses remained empty longer than necessary. Daughter ordered a grilled chicken salad which is fairly simple. My French Dip and fries were COLD. Apparently the plate was prepared and sat until the other two were completed. Waitresses are depriving owners of revenue by not refilling drinks and kitchen workers need to remember: If you wouldn’t eat is that way (in my case, cold, then don’t serve it!

First time here. We tried the pizza, we built our own and it was very good! Thin crust, minimal sauce, good amount of cheese. Great overall taste. 14 inch was more than enough for two. The plain fries were also very good, seemed to be freshly cut, homemade style. Small order was a good sample for two people. Prices are fair. Service and food arrival was on the slow side but waitress was very pleasant. The dining room was cold. We left our jackets on. We will probably return.

We have been to BB Jacks many times. We typically get pizza because we found it to be one of the best pizza places in Wausau. The other food we have had is okay but nothing spectacular. Service has always been very good even when they are packed. Large tables in the bar area to accommodate groups of 8. They just paved the parking lot which helps keep the shoes cleaner.

Pizza is great, if you like the works, and thin crust. Great beer selection. fantastic prices. Service is good.

It’s ok. My understanding is that the Antigo location is popular. I found very little that attracted me to it.

We had a pretty A OK experience at BB Jacks back in June or so. I had a great fish sandwich, but the fries — which I hear are supposed to be awesome — were hard and boring. My husband had a burger and enjoyed the heck out of it. All in all an averagely good place in Wausau and one worth visiting. Service was a little slow but pleasant.

What helps this place a lot is that it is the only restaurant around this area that is open all the time, so you will see cars lining the road.
Had a wrap with fries. Good fries, but the chicken wrap was light on the dressing and the cooked chicken was light on flavor.
Another time I ordered a breaded shrimp basket, and a deep fried fish fillet. The coleslaw was brownish green, the German style potato salad was watery, and both the deep fried shrimp and fish were as good as I do by baking them from the freezer section at home. I expect a higher quality at a restaurant than baked frozen food.
Both times I went, I was in the dining room portion, and the service was ok.
Now if you wanted to hang out in the bar half of the restaurant, then you may be in for a treat; think: Buffalo Wild Wings, with the tvs, large selection of beers and other beverages.

BB Jack’s is a place a good friend of mine took to me to in Antigo once upon a time. What a surprise to see it here in Wausau! Apparently it’s been open since January of ’12. I went in there today with my aunt and uncle. What a great place! A completely renovated Minos. The cheese curds were incredible, and the pizza was out of this world. Crispy crust, tons of cheese and the meat was top quality. Great price, and quick/​friendly service!
