Very good food and reasonable prices. My 5yo daughter had the chicken phở and loved it — we told her it was chicken noodle soup! Will definitely return.

The food was decent. Their egg rolls were good. Phở was OK. Probably the best phở within a 100 mile radius of Wausau. I’ve been there three times in the last year while passing through town. My first experience was OK, but my last was very disappointing. Will probably not stop by any more. There’s only like 3 places for phở in Wausau and it so happens they are the better of the 3. They’re located in a small strip mall that is in the middle of a residential area(Wausau has their zoning all f’d up). There’s barely any parking and they’re located at the end of an Asian store. It looks like they just rented some closet space from the Asian store and opened up shop. They share the bathrooms with the Asian store. They could be owned by one owner, but I don’t know for sure. Oh, and the bathrooms stank. The place is small. It’s not good for large groups, but you know Asians, they like to eat in big groups(I hate eating in big groups with Asians, no one helps tip). There’s probably seating for about 25 – 30 people max. There’s no foyer, so when someone opens the door in the winter time, cold air brushes over my phở making it cold. So we walk in, no staff in sight, a few tables open, but they needed to be cleared off. it was kinda like that my previous visits too. A few minutes later, one of the staff saw us, but did not acknowledge us at all. I don’t know what she was doing. Walking around? We stood around for another minute or so and said we like to sit there —(I pointed to a table that needed busing). She took her dandy time clearing it off. I’m pretty sure the towel she used to clean was dirty because it appeared out of nowhere. We finally got seated. It didn’t look busy. There was a larger party next to us, but they seemed to have gotten all their food already. We didn’t get menus. We didn’t get water. We had to walk up to the register(which was unattended) and grab some stickyass, laminated menus. Looked at them for a few minutes hoping they would come get our order. Well, they didn’t. Still no staff in sight. The front of the restaurant was completely abandoned by the staff for at least 10 minutes(It felt like 10 minutes). Another couple came in and sat themselves down. They must have been locals and know what to do. Now they were in the same boat we were. Playing the waiting game. After what seemed forever, the lady waitress came out and proceeded to take the order of the couple that came in after us. WTF!?! What about us? We’ve been here for 15 freakin’ minutes and no one even acknowledged us(but it was the only phở place worth visiting Wausau so we stuck it out). So after she took their order, the guy waiter came and took our order because we waved him over(he was cool). When the lady waitress came back out, she had the nerve to ask us if we needed menus. I was like, Biii — -ssh!(in my head of course). Ok, so we got our order in. It was just phở and eggrolls and water. I didn’t want to complicate things, but I guess I was wrong. Phở does not take 20 minutes to come out. That’s all this place does. PHO! Their restaurant name is «Phở 76». They should be good at making phở. 20 minutes was phở-king ridiculous. So we finally got our phở. I like mine spicy. Went to open the garlic chili oil and it was super crusty. The jar was about 75% full, but the top 70% of it was all dried out. It looked like they hadn’t refilled it in weeks or cleaned at least once during the life of the restaurant. I settled for sriracha sauce(which is good, but you want that oily taste too, you know). We ate fast because I needed to get to the Fox Valley area ASAP. Never got a refill on water. Ran up to the register and demanded they take my payment now and dipped. It was close to an hour if not more that we spent in that dreadful place. I couldn’t wait to get back on the road… ohh…Hmong people, I wanna help you out, but you disappoint me. As we walked out, 2 large groups came in. I overheard them fighting for tables.

Was in search of Vietnamese food since moving here, and found on Unilocal. Parking can be a bit tight looking, but just continue towards the back to find more. Self seating, very family business type atmosphere — nothing fancy. OK service, seemed slow at cleaning tables. Was greeted as we sat, but had to ask for menu. Saw that some other customers were waiting to be seated and was not acknowledged right away. Our order– Seafood noodle Phở — Xtra small size, however, it was good sized portion and tasty broth. Vermicelli noodle with grilled pork and shrimp combo — delicious. Fresh vegetables, and spring rolls — delicious. Shrimp roll(spring roll) — good and even the dipping peanut sauce was great. Guava juice — was happy to know they had this. One of my favorite drinks in Hawaii. Good portion & good priced. Will definitely go back again. Pay at the counter.

Worst service ever! We seated ourselves and the waiter fail to take our orders. After 10 minutes of waiting, a waiter brought us waters and the menu and basically left us waiting and never came back. Will never go back. I’m surprise people gave this place 4 stars.

The food here is good! Definitely the best phở in Wausau. The only thing that is making this place lose a star is the environment. It could use some renovations.

It’s Wausau so I wasn’t expecting much for decent Vietnamese. This was fine, considering the location. I’d fully agree about the service comments here. I found it friendly but slow — it took like 15 minutes once walking in the door to place the appetizer/drink order. We got the eggrolls and they were pretty darn good. In fact, I’d say they were the highlight of the meal. Note: they’re not spectacular but they’re tasty enough. Our table then ordered Bahn mi sans meatloaf(pâté), a steak phở with shrimp added and a shrimp bun. I didn’t care for the sandwhich bc the pickled veggies were soggy and the roast pork was… just off. The phở was decent, hearty but the broth needed some major doctoring(psiracha, soy and hoisen). I probably wouldn’t got back but it wasn’t as bad as some reviews say it is.

First you notice about this place is that it smells very dirty. Food is average; ok for a Phở restaurant, it’s connected to a Asian food store. This restaurants is just nasty, it’s not the kid of place you would want to bring some with a compromised immune system or small child to eat. Very disorganized fixtures… Booooo u suck phở 76, service a usual in a Vietnamese restaurant is horrible; I’ve come to realize this is a cultural thing.

Best Phở I have had since leaving the DC region. Really good broth, all of the fun meats I love– tripe, fatty tendon, the works. They don’t skimp on the meat either. Price is great $ 8 for a large, more than enough food for me. NOTOPEN on Mondays. Made that very sad mistake tonight. Nothing worse than being hungry with a wicked noodle craving only to find the place closed.

Driving through, got a Jones for phở. Glad we stopped. We were the only round eyes in the place — always a good sign. Very tasty phở, some of the best I’ve had. Boston, NYC, DC — this is the best. Broth is excellent, even before it get doctored up with chilis and other sauces. Huge portions, I couldn’t finish the XL bowl — first time that’s ever happened to me(6’1″, 260 lb). Monster portion of noodles, and more meat(steak and meatballs) than I’ve ever had. Really fantastic. Wait staff was bored and lazy, and unfortunately the place was filthy. Everything sticky, grimy floor, dirty walls. It really doesn’t take much to keep an establishment clean, very disappointing. But oh so tasty!

I have been here many times during my trip to Minneapolis. Food and taste are excellent, price is low, service is bad, always busy, kind of dirty, sometimes really dirty and messy, but what do you expect for a small city? I am ok with some good noodle soup during a long travel.

Worst service ever. No greetings or even a thank you. I only ordered one thing to go as I was just dropping by to go up north. Waited over 15 mins for papaya salad to go.

A worthy effort, but I’ve had better phở elsewhere… Sliced beef was overcooked, and I could not find any tripe in the bowl I had. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out as excellent, either.

Nice place, friendly service. Had the XL round steak phở, very fragrant and tons of noodles and beef, super value! Paired with one pork and shrimp spring roll, that was one huge meal. They do a great job, we will be back!

The quintessential hole in the wall and a real surprise in the middle of Wisconsin. Great portion sizes and an authentic feel. A great find.

We took a 5 minute drive from Granite Peak ski resort to try this place out, and were not disappointed — value for money at this place is great. I ate the Seafood Phở. It was delicious but had too much noodles and too few vegetables. Ask the waiter to see the bowl size. This meal is relatively huge, and is a main course, not the average soup you would expect. I also got the spring roll, which was OK. I was surprised it was served cold, but that’s just me. The restaurant furniture and settings is probably as cheap as it gets, so this isn’t a place for a business meeting or any sort of meeting besides getting a really good meal for less than $ 10. Would definitely come back here next time I’m in the area.

I have been here twice. The first time it was great. I came back last night around 6 pm. I noticed they closed at 7 pm which is odd for a restaurant that already has the local Hmong community praising its phở. Last night, I ordered the appetizer combo sample that came with a spring roll and two pork egg rolls and the special phở. The appetizer was good but I was actually disappointed in my phở noodles because they were a bit hard and not soft. I didn’t complain about it because the phở broth was amazing and I was starving. I’ll certainly come back because I like to support local small«mom and pop» restaurants and I hope it does a better job at preparing the phở noodles. It’s a minor mistake to serve hard phở noodles and can easily be fixed. Overall, I give this restaurant 4 stars because it has a simple menu, quick service, cheap prices and the phở broth is excellent. I’ve lived in Milwaukee for about 6 years and I have some great phở in Milwaukee and in Chicago. Phở 76 can compete with those restaurants in terms of phở preparation as long as they don’t serve hard noodles. I see great potential in this restaurant and I hope that it grows into a much larger restaurant in Wausau, serving a heavily populated Hmong community. Currently, Phở 76 is in a hidden location and the only way your going to see it is through word of mouth or online. They don’t have any local advertisements. Also, it’s a tiny restaurant with very limited seating.

Best Phở ever! Very authentic and a great value. The location is a bit hidden but it is very popular. Spring rolls are humongous. Foe leas than $ 20, two people will be stuffed. The menu is small and simple but the food is large in size complex in flavor. If you like phở then you need to go here now :-)

The phở here was pretty good. The service was ok. We walked in and stood around for a while and nobody greeted us so we just sat down and were greeted soon after that. I was hoping to be in and out of here a little bit faster. The place seemed pretty busy though.

I travel around for work and I was looking for some good authentic phở. Only problem was… Where was I going to get it in Wausau, Wisconsin? I looked up reviews and Phở 76 was pretty much the only place that showed up. My host at the Rosenberry Inn said that this place was amazing and offered me a ride because parking is hard to find. I was pleasantly surprised by the food! The interior is subpar compared to other restaurants, but it’s a hole-in-the-wall establishment. It’s connected to a grocery store which was kind of odd to me, but I really went for the food. I ordered a combo appetizer which included a spring roll and two egg rolls($ 3.75) and a large steak phở. I don’t remember exactly how much the steak phở was but I know my overall total was under $ 12. Overall, the food was amazing. The spring roll was fresh and surprisingly huge for one serving. The egg rolls were crisped to perfection. The phở broth was flavorful and it came with an abundance of meat and noodles. I honestly had a hard time finishing it because there was so much. Overall, if you’re going just for the food — 5 stars! Service and décor make it 4 stars.

I’ve eaten at most phở restaurants from Eau Claire to Green Bay and Phở 76 is up to par or better. As good as it gets in the surrounding area based on 3 things: portion size, cost is low, and taste is great. The establishment is connected to an Asian grocery store. This is a family run business. Ok, décor is not great however go for the food. The service is ok. You are allowed you sit where you want, you pay when you’re ready, they don’t attentively check up on you but they do refill drinks. Hey, that’s all what I need. I don’t want people hovering over me while I’m eating. I’m more worried about the curious faces that look at you when you eat because the tables are kind of close to each other. All the seating are tables, no booths. It’s all plopped in one room. Service is fast and prices are decent. I like that their menu is simple. They don’t have 1000 items. You can choose from phở, spring rolls, egg rolls, curry noodles, papaya salad, Bun(vermicelli) salad, a few rice platters, and of course a drink or tapioca dessert. They have flavorful meaty crispy hot egg rolls — not like the Hmong egg rolls that are oily and filled with bland vermicelli noodles. I’d say 85% of the people that dine here are happy with the taste of the broth. You’d get a few who prefers more spices but I’m not one of those to complain. If you feel you can make better broth, go home and make it. I am far too lazy to boil water, spices, meat, and bones for several hours to come up with an «authentic» flavor. The«nuoc cham» sauce for the Bun salad is delicious and the grilled meat is well seasoned. Don’t be discouraged by it’s location, the ambience, the weird people that eat here(I’m one of them). Two bowls of phở and a combo appetizer of 2 egg rolls and a spring roll set us back under $ 20. Cheers!
