Visited twice a couple weeks. The latte was great until I saw a fruit fly floating at the top. The male Batista laughed when I told him about the fruit fly. Don’t think Ill be returning.

It’s not exceptional it’s not sad, it’s a café on a corner with a large wine selection and the pour it you’re self coffee dispensers. 4 selections to be had the day I was there. I heard the baked goods are tasty but that’s a given if you want to be a café that will compete. When I compare to a collectivo it lacks ambiance, strength of coffee, and diverse customer base. However the latter they can not control. Don’t even know why I reviewed the place. Well clientele was all 35 to 75 year old ladies all morning. So it’s the hen stop! Don’t bring you’re goth friends here or patchouli wearing hippies.

Such a great place to relax and enjoy the best hot beverages in central Wisconsin! Very cute contemporary look, in a two story barn, with a outdoor upper deck/balcony, perfect for a beautiful day! Service is always five star, and everything is always fresh a delicious! The only thing I wish would change is a bigger menu, since their existing menu has got great options and unique items, more would only add to my «can’t wait to try it!!» List! Thank you for opening what Wausau really needs!(I love both locations!!)

Best place in town for coffee and wine. All of their food is excellent and there is something for everyone whether you are eating healthy or want to indulge a little. The daily soup specials are always delicious. If you want to find great wine, this is THE place to go in Wausau. The staff is very helpful if you are looking for suggestions. Even better, sign up for one of the evening wine tastings where you will learn more about how to taste and enjoy wine. My husband and I have been wine club members here for several years.

We actually found this place thanks to Unilocal.Place is small and very charming. They serve great coffee and have selection of hundreds of wines. They occasionally do wine tasting too. We went there two days in a row for breakfast and coffee. Their food is freshly made and not overwhelming with portions. I suggest Southwest sandwich with black bean paste – very nice complexion and spiciness. I loved their Chia seeds small muffins/cakes. Overall I give it most stars.

If we lived in the area, my husband & I both agree, this would easily become«our spot» to be regulars at for our coffee needs! Just passing through on our way back to Chicago, and stopped for a java pick-me-up, and quickly fell in love with the Vino Latte! Nice personable barista who made my yummy white chocolate mocha. We tried these dense amazingly delicious Chia Flax Chocolate Peanut Butter Coconut cookie ball things where you get 3 for $ 1.99! She even warmed them up for us, so decadent & ooie gooie! And they have the best soft, thickly ginormous homemade chocolate chip cookies! Tastes just like mom makes! They did have menus with hot food, paninis and such, but we were just popping in and out and back on the road again. I did notice they had a small private meeting room that patrons could use, and another room with walls lined in wine! The whole interior from floor to ceiling was lined in wine bottles! I think they do tastings here too, not sure. They do have nice free WiFi too! That was a tiny bonus, but we had been waaaaaaaay up in the northern boonies at the cabin without any service, so it was nice to re-enter civilization and get some interwebs! If we are ever going through this town again, we would definitely make a stop!

I usually get a sandwich, and I was sad to see that they switch from regular cheese to a melty Velveta-like substance. It tasted terrible. Wish they hadn’t switched to that. I will not be getting sandwiches there anymore.

IFYOUAREINWAUSAU, YOUNEEDTOGOHERE!!! I am a serious sandwich connoisseur and this is as good as it gets. An awesome little local restaurant with an abundance of wine, a cute little indoor eating area, a couple private rooms you can reserve, and an amazing little outdoor patio area. So, the atmosphere, GREAT. The food, EVENBETTER! I had the fresh mozzarella and tomato panini which comes with fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, chicken, and tomato on focaccia bread. It was out of this world! I got the half size which comes with kettle chips(delish) and is the perfect size lunch for a light eater. My husband got the grand cuban panini, also a great choice-he of course got the whole size and polished it right off… Before we left we got an iced decaf white chocolate macadamia nut latte, that was INCREDIBLE. All around, this place it awesome. The service was friendly, our food came out quickly – even though they got slammed right after we ordered. I digress… this place rocks, whoever owns it is doing the right things, so keep it up!!!

Dinning at a café that has every inch of wall space filled with wine bottles you can buy… very cool. The food was delicious and the servers were SUPER friendly and patient with our questions time it took to order. If it’s nice outside I would suggest sitting outside. We will be back.

I’ve been working just down the road from Vino Latte(formerly Café Le Grand) for 4 years. While it’s not a fast type of place it’s a great place to grab lunch or coffee with friends. I recently found out they do serve their food in the evenings as well. A friend and I had dinner and chatted right up until closing time one night. Call ahead and they’ll have your lunch ready at a table or they’ll make it to go! They’ve always been very kind about doing this and when you’re short on time this really helps. We always give plenty of warning by calling a couple hours a head so they can make it on their schedule. My favorites are the chicken ceasar wrap and the Banana Flax Wrap(it’s grilled with peanut butter!). I haven’t had a chance to try the breakfast as I’m not a morning person :) They have tons of wines for sale, wine tastings and a wine club!

Very cozy little place. We were confused at first because we didn’t know you had to order at the counter. My omelet was a little on the small side but tasty. The french toast with the egg and sausage was very good. Service was friendly. Really nice to see a place where people can just sit around and visit and drink coffee. Purchased a couple bottles of wine and some cheese on our way out. Would definitely go back when I’m in the area.

I go to Wausau for business and will occasionally ‘camp out’ there and take advantage of the wi-fi. All coffees and menu items I have had are beyond terrific and the service is also terrific. Great place!!!1

Chose this place over others because of reviews on Unilocal and UrbanSpoon. Add mine to the praises. Friendly and thoughtful barista, well made hot and cold coffee drinks, and charming little patio out back. A lovely oasis for a caravan making the journey from Green Bay to Chippewa Falls.

Nice, warm, little place to have a coffee or sandwich. We stopped in for omelets and while the food was a little too«alternative’ for us(egg substitute and cottage cheese) but nonetheless tasty. Highly recommended.

I stopped by to grab some lunch and was a little disappointed by the food. I was hoping for something healthy and light and wasn’t expecting so much mayo and melted cheese in my turkey wrap(I guess I got excited by the turkey, spinach, cranberried and failed to read the fine print). It seems like a better ambience for coffee than wine to me, but maybe it takes on a different vibe in the evening.

This is THEBEST place in north central Wisconsin for coffee, healthy food, and wine! The owners(Ron and Loreen) often put on wine tastings in the shop. You should check these out, as you get to sample some AMAZING wine from all over the world, have some tasty«snacks» that pair well with the wines, and get an education about wine/wine tasting. The menu is diverse and everything is fresh and(usually) healthy, Their homemade soups are my favorite! The coffee flavors are not to be beat and are unique flavors that you cannot get at a chain. If you are looking for wine, food, or coffee… you will NOT be disappointed.

I have been there a number of times since I wrote my original review when it was named Café Le Grand. They maintain there excellent quality sandwiches and coffe drinks. Their web site URL is now: This week I had the Grand Cuban Panini with a bowl of pasta salad. Both were excellent. The rest of my original review still applies. Gotta go. TTFN. I’d characterize their menu as light fare: sandwiches, soup, etc. I haven’t stopped there for lunch in a couple of years. I remember that the sandwich I had was good. Since I can’t remember it well my rating today is based on the coffee only. Although termed a Gourmet Coffee House, the owner has decided to make wine a prominent focus of the business. There is a HUGE selection of wine. Cozy place with very attractive tables, chairs, couch, etc. Check out their web site: .
