We came at the end of a lunch rush, so all but the decaf had just run empty. I let her know and she made out desires choice of coffee first. She even asked how we’d like it prepares, and prepared it for us before bringing it out to our table, when usually you self serve. She even came back to check on it and make sure our food was great after apologizing profusely. On top of that the restaurant was clean and the rest of the staff was friendly. Tables were cleared within a minute of another customer leaving. Thanks for the fantastic service Laura

My «Panini» was not on Panini Bread and it was not warm. It tasted Okay. The price was alright and everyone was very nice. However — the manager through a towel to a waitress. It hit the floor. She picked it up and started wiping tables with it.

I finally got over to the Corner bakery to check them out for lunch today and I really was looking forward to my meal after hearing from a live person how good it is. The place was mobbed with people but they had four registers cranking out the customers which went faster than I thought. The place looked nice and clean and employees were cleaning as people left the tables. The place had way too much dark wood and bricks which made me feel like I was in mid evil times. The place as a whole seemed on the dim side and not very bright. There is a Coffey grinder on the counter for the fresh Coffey station with four options for the Coffey. The menu has breakfast offerings with soups, salads and sandwiches etc. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich because it sounded good. The sandwich had nice fresh bread. I was a little disappointed because the white meat chicken was not a breast but shredded and broken pieces of chicken which mostly falls out of the sandwich that was just deli meat. The chicken was slightly seasoned and super moist and juicy which surprised me. The chicken actually had a good chicken flavor as I ate my sandwich and I realized all I could taste was the bread and chicken so I felt it needed something more and than I realized they forgot the pesto sauce as I looked closer at the sandwich, see my pictures of the total break down and tell me you see any pesto vinaigrette mayo on my sandwich because pesto is green. It might haven been a good sandwich if it was all there, see my pictures. For just over $ 9 you get an ice cold pickle and a bag of chips. I felt for the $ 9 mark the sandwich was a little weak in the taste and the size department compared to what $ 6.50 at the picnic basket gets you. Overall I would not be a regular customer after my first experience and my messed up sandwich defiantly factors into that. I don’t mind paying $ 9 for a great sandwich but price vs value vs taste didn’t impress me today because they have been open for a year now so screwing up this bad says a lot and when deli meats are the star of great sounding sandwiches and under deliver just doesn’t do it for me. When you name a sandwich and leave out half of the named ingredient it just doesn’t work very well. It all looked and sounded great but poor execution never goes unnoticed and that speaks volumes.

Corner Bakery is another version of Panera Bread, but I think with less variety and no bagels. Their bacon, cheese and egg panini is pretty good, their Mac and cheese is my nephews’ favorite thing to get there. I was highly disappointed in the carbonara though. I will go in the future for their chocolate muffin, especially in the morning when it’s still slightly warm. Employees have always been really helpful when I’ve been there and the restaurant has always been in good condition.

I needed something to eat. This is the only place to eat besides Pizza at the mayfair collection. Corner Bakery Café is just like a panera but I liked it. I had two grilled flats, chicken with caesar and a caramel frappé to drink. The caramel frappé was delicious. The food was filling and good. I didn’t see anywhere to put plates so there were plates on the tables that still needed to be cleaned off. I suggest cleaning off tables more quickly. As for the menu, I liked my flat but I didn’t see a whole lot that was that appealing. I like chicken and turkey type sandwiches but pretty basic ones. I also didn’t see anything vegetarian. It would be cool if they served breakfast all day. I would eat here again.

Considering the premium price you pay at Corner Bakery, I was not expecting to find a hair in my Cuban press sandwich and chicken tortilla soup that tasted slightly off, not to mention so hot that it bruised and blistered my tongue. Talk to a manager you say? The place was too crowded and staff was preoccupied. Will not be back anytime soon, there are plenty of other places in the area.

I would give these guys four stars. It was really good! Good prices, very good food for a lunch. It has a Panera-esque feel to it. Their Asian Pork sandwich is delicious and a favorite! All in all, corner bakery is a great, affordable addition to the Mayfair collection.

Stopped in last night after shopping. Like many others have said it’s a nicer version of Panera. Now while my food tasted good(I ordered the Spicy Asian Pork) there was zero spice to it, which was unfortunate. Also, the slaw that comes on it was a ridiculous amount… half my plate was covered in it after I finished the sandwich…

Finally a nice café in the area. Great place to grab a bite while shopping The place gets pretty crowded and the staff seem to rush you through orders and serving

The fire roasted tomato basil soup was so rich and delicious! Had it with the Uptown Turkey half sandwich, and the fresh bread made the sandwich! Kettle cooked chips were included. Hibiscus Lemonade was a perfect summer drink. Tip: there are 4 cash registers and no way to figure out if there are 4 lines or one. It would be nice to see directional signs.

Yummy salads! A little over priced(reminds me of Panera) and not enough for your buck. Food is delicous though!

Stopped in last saturday around noon, first time visiting this chain. I was looking for something lower carb, so i went with the Anaheim Scrambler. At this point in the day, they could serve my breakfast item, but longer had the potatoes that come on the side in the morning. No problem with that! Fruit was substituted and the eggs were so filling i wasn’t tempted to try the toast. It was odd, though, the the toast came dry with no butter/jelly on the side. Tomatoes, cheese, lots of bacon, green onion, and avocado were scrambled in with the eggs. The service was very friendly despite how busy they were. The place was packed and the floor plan is laid out weirdly and kind of cramped. As other reviewers have said, think slightly nicer panera. I avoid chain restaurants, but it was good enough that I’d consider stopping in again the next time I’m starving and don’t have time to drive to a locally owned business.

Kind of reminded me of panera. I had a salad which was decently sized but I really should have gotten a pastry, because they really catch your eye as soon as you walk in the door.

I was in line which I was the next person to get served but since I was in a wheelchair I was over looked. I business person came in after me and he got served. I asked is this custom for this business«last come first served?» I just wanted coffee but please don’t discriminate ADA people. The lady felt bad and offered to pay for my coffee. I told her«no» I am getting used to people over looking me. I have a greater appreciation for Disability which I have been for a decade but since 2013 I have been using a wheelchair. FYI please treat everyone the same.

After a busy afternoon of shopping at the Mayfair Collection shops, my friend and I decided to stop in here for lunch. This café is a very good addition to the shopping center. It is clean, the staff is great, and so is the food. They serve pasta, sandwiches, salads, soup and chili. They also serve breakfast all day, every day. For beverages, they serve soda, smoothies, lemonade, frappes, and coffee. For my meal, I had the Uptown Turkey sandwich. It is smoked turkey breast served with lettuce, tomato, avocado and smoked applewood bacon on toasted harvest wheat bread. It was a fabulous sandwich. I had the truffle mocha coffee as my beverage. If you are a coffee person, I highly recommend trying it. My friend had their chili. She said that it had a little kick to it, but was really good. I hope that this place is around for a long time to come. There are definitely return trips here in my future.

Think of this chain as a little bit better version of Panera. The food is reasonably priced and consistent. They offer half sandwich and soup or salad specials which is a good way to try different menu items. The service was pretty quick considering how busy this place can get. My only knock was that they didn’t drop off napkins with the food… just a small nit. For a buck or two more than fast food you can get a much better meal. If you are at the mall it isn’t a bad place to stop for some shopping fuel.

Corner Bakery is like a nicer, cleaner(much, much cleaner than the filthy Mayfair location) Panera. The concept is similar — order at the counter and they’ll bring your food when it’s ready. The menu is similar too — soups, salads, sandwiches and a few pastas thrown in for good measure. Like Panera, they clearly post calorie counts which I appreciate. The food is solid — I had a turkey sandwich that included fresh avocados and crisp bacon. I loved the toasted whole grain bread but felt the turkey was pretty poor quality(think Pick’N’Save deli counter). Sandwiches come with chips but you sub baby carrots to be healthier if you want. Corner Bakery staff seems to be friendly and enthusiastic — and they’ve done some good training. Food was coming out quickly, despite the restaurant being totally full and only open a few weeks. CB is a great spot for a quick and cheap bite after you discovered the cashmere sweater sale at Nordstrom Rack and spent all your money(true story).

I’ve visited several of these in the Chicago Loop, and when one opened in Tosa I thought I must try it. It was 9AM on a Sunday morning so it wasn’t packed. POSITIVES: Plenty of parking. Smallish, warm, and somewhat cozy. Friendly staff. Prices not too bad. Food delivery was very fast. NEGATIVES: Food items not very healthy. I was served the wrong entrée. I requested the Anaheim Panini($ 4.89) and a small coffee($ 1.89). This panini includes avocado but no bacon. Mine came with no avocado, but had small bits of bacon in it. I didn’t think the taste would be any different so I didn’t call a staff person. The taste of the panini was dominated by the oil the bread was dipped in and eggs were cooked in. But the coffee was excellent for this type of café(it’s not Peet’s or Starbucks).

Complimentary reviews of chain establishments is not my forte, but I gotta step out of the box for this one. It’s not that I have outright disdain for chains, it’s just that, at most chains, you know what you’re going to get: mediocre food, fair value, and service that’s, well, serviceable. But every once in a while, a corporate restaurant arrives that’s worth writing about. Today, that restaurant is the new-to-Wisconsin Corner Bakery Café. As I write this, the first CBC in the cheese state has only been open five days. If you’ve ever spent time in other major American metropolises, you’ll immediately recognize the ubiquitous Corner Bakery Café. Seems like there’s a thousand of them in Chicago’s loop; Atlanta’s not far behind. Corner Bakery Café mainly serves up breakfast and lunch fare. Paninis, pancakes, sandwiches, muffins, and salads are the main feed here – all of which are better than average. In fact, to me, what really makes CBC writing about is their bakery. Having filled me cheeks for much of the last decade with locally produced bakery from Alterra/Colectivo, I have to admit: Corner Bakery Café KILLS Colectivo in this department. Their bakery is fantastically fresh, often warm and right out of the oven. And it’s infinitely better than Starbucks’ offerings. For your coffee fix, however, you’re still better off heading to one of Milwaukee’s fine, local roasters. Corner Bakery Café’s «hand roasted»(Roasted by hand? How is that possible? That’s got to leave a mark!) leaves a lot to be desired. It’s a little too weak for my caffeine-encrusted palate. I’m glad Corner Bakery Café finally made it to America’s Dairyland. As chains go, this one appears quite promising. Just work on that coffee, guys. I gotta stay awake!
