The Phở is delicious! I’m a big fan of the veggie phở. But just a tip– a place of business should never answer the phone just by saying«hello»…

This was out fist trip the Tosa Hue’s. The Tosa location seemed a little larger than the Bay View location. The service was good & drinks tasty! The Phở was large & delicious! I got the steak, brisket & meat ball Phở, the«meat balls» don’t have the texture/consistency as traditional meat balls-good though.

This was our first experience with Vietnamese food. Our server Sam was amazing and guided us through the menu. Both of our dishes were wonderful and the crab Rangoon was perfect! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

I have been waiting to go to this place for over a year and finally went last weekend for lunch. I really enjoyed the interiors of the restaurant, it was small and cozy, but with the large windows, brought in a lot of natural light which gave the restaurant a «lighter» feel. Our server was very attentive even for her first day. My friend ordered Mango Bubble tea which was very tasty and we also ordered the shrimp spring rolls which(although large) were fresh and yummy. I excitedly try Beef Phở for the first time and after dreaming about it for so long, it did not disappoint. The broth was flavorful, the beef was delicious and the fresh basil and sprouts made the dish a great combo of comfort food and a light Saturday lunch. Leftovers complete for dinner that night. Can’t wait to be back!

We have been to the Hue in Bay View many times, and have had many great experiences. We’ve been to the Wauwatosa location twice now. The food is the same high quality at both locations. We always start with the Hue sampler(the beef skewers in particular are delicious). My wife loves the beef phở, and I bounce back and forth between the kitchen sink fried rice and the Beef Bun. I would have given it five stars, but we had particularly bad service last night. Both entrees and appetizers took forever to arrive. Phở was brought out without a spoon or condiments. Our waiter then proceeded to serve drinks to another table before he brought my wife her spoon and condiments. It then took us over a half hour to get his attention to get our bill. He didn’t check in on us once, and we had to ask other waitresses walking past for more water and drink refills. We will be going back, one bad experience is not enough to scare us off. We just hope that this isn’t the start of a downhill slide in service.

My wife and I went to Hue last night for dinner and it was just what we needed. The crab rangoon was my favorite, it was excellent with an added spiciness that added to the overall flavor. To be perfectly honest, we enjoyed everything we ordered. My wife absolutely loved the phở and the specialty drinks were really good too. Our waitress Sam was extremely attentive and friendly which added to the overall experience. My wife and I will definitely be back.

I’ve never had Phở before but a friend who had wanted to try this place when we met for lunch. I’m really glad I was talked into phở and Hue, I will be back. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was great. The server was knowledgable and helpful at menu recommendations. I ordered the Beef Phở and it was incredibly tasty.

Legitimately the best Phở I’ve had in my life. And a great value, as well! $ 11 for a bowl that was twice the size of my face! I’m seeing a few reviews in the past that said the Phở broth wasn’t hot, and I can say I didn’t have that issue. Perhaps it was an early issue with the restaurant that has since been fixed with the kitchen. I also had the sampler platter as an appetizer, which came with(among other things) some beef skewers that were deliciously marinated. I’m definitely getting an order of just the beef skewers next time I’m there. The restaurant also has a surprisingly well developed selection of hand crafted cocktails. I definitely wasn’t expecting that for a Vietnamese restaurant.

This place is pretty new in Wauwatosa, so I just stopped in to grab a drink at the bar and check the place out. Well, one drink led to two, and it smelled so good in there, that I had to try an appetizer. I got the appetizer combo, the Hue Sample Platter. It’s got crab rangoon, eggrolls, spring rolls, and beef skewers. It was excellent! What throws me off is. Why isn’t this place packed?! It was a Saturday night, and there were only a few tables dining. I thought the food was great, friendly bartender, great service, modern, hip décor. What’s not to like?!

Walked over to Hue on a Friday night after enjoying a movie at The Rosebud. We purposely passed several other restaurants in favor of something more refreshing and new. We got there around 9:00 and there was one other table there. They close at 10:00, so we were comfortable. Our server was bright and bubbly if not to a small fault. She was very excited, spoke very quickly and really wanted to chat, whatever — Friday night, better bubbly than snarky. We started with a couple drinks, the Workbook wine that they have on tap is one of my favorites. For a party of 4 we ordered the crab rangoon appetizer. I really enjoyed these. The order came with 5 rangoons and a sweet dipping sauce. The filling was salty and delicious, you could tell that they’d put thought into the seasoning and not just plopping cream cheese in a wrap. Entrees, I went with the phở. It was a chilly rainy night and I wanted a big bowl of warmth. I got the beef phở, which is supposedly well-done brisket and sirloin steak. Of course they started me with the dish(a small dish, not the typical amount that I’m used to) with the bean sprouts, lime and thai basil. I guess not a lot of people order the phở here, because the sprouts were old, and the thai basil was so wilted and disgusting they should never have served it. The two lime triangles(not even a wedge!) had NO juice in them. I asked for a couple more, and finally squeezed two drops out. The broth itself was much too sweet for me, even after adding copious amounts of hoisin and sriracha. The biggest problem unfortunately was that the broth was not hot. It was warm enough that the bowl was warm(perhaps microwaved?), but the broth needed to be HOT to cook the steak, and it wasn’t even close. Normally the rare meat is laid over the top of the hot broth and it cooks naturally, but due to the room temp broth, it left the meat inedible. The curry was delicious, but served on a plate that barely contained the entrée, no room to eat. Normally curry will be served on a platter, a bowl of rice on the side, and then a plate to eat them together separately, but they had everything very small and awkwardly plated. I guess I would come back and get the curry, but never would I get the phở again. It was even worse the next day :(

Finally got a chance to check this place out and was pleased to find it’s actually very kid friendly. As mother to a 1– and 3-year-old, I’m never sure which new restaurants will be accommodating. Hue was great though! They have a cute kids menu with good options, they have high chairs and kids cups. Perfecto. The food overall was solid, and I’d definitely go back to try other things. I had the fish fry special and it was yum. Also tried the beef skewer appetizer(so good!) and my husband’s barbecue pork chop. My little ones shared some Phở Ga and both really liked it. I tried it and was not super into it, but it was nice and bland for my littles, and that’s all that mattered. I have to say, the service was excellent. Waitress was so nice and friendly. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. Was interested to see they have a small private dining space that probably can be rented out, as well as a back patio. Interior is larger than I thought it would be, so easy to get seating. Will definitely go back!

Their meat like stuff is good. Phở was good but not great. The popping bubble tea was very good. This is my first visit so I don’t really have any tips for you.

Not bad. I liked the décor, service, and parking. Servers were fast and friendly. The only complaint was the Phở broth was not hot enough — my rare beef had that uncooked texture. I noticed other reviewers said the same. Would I come bad. Sure. But I would ask them to nuke the broth.

Disclaimer: I grew up in Toronto so I’m sorry in advance for being a Vietnamese food snob. The phở here is okay. The beef is never really«rare» and I find that the soup is never hot enough. This time, we ordered the BBQ beef ribs and the pork sausage bun(vermicelli noodles). The BBQ beef was pretty tasty but I don’t think it was a substantial amount for the price. As for the pork sausage bun, there definitely wasn’t enough veggies or pork sausage. So again, not substantial for the price. I resort to coming here because of it’s proximity to where I live but I’m never really satisfied.

I want this to be better. I want to update my review in the future. 4:45 on a Monday. Didn’t expect it to be packed. It wasn’t. Just us. So I was concerned we’d be smothered in service. We weren’t. In fact, she stood there looking at us. We had to break the ice. Then she disappeared for about 10 minutes. A couple walked in and left because no one was there to see them. It was so odd. Finally she emerged from the kitchen with our food. Horrible service. I actually really like the bay view location. But what is happening here! I enjoy the spring rolls and phở. Is approachable and hits the spot. But good lord this was just an odd experience. I hope I come back to update my review.

It felt like a noodles café, and I probably would’ve experienced better service there! The Tosa location just does not have the same warmth that the Bay View location has. it was terrible, odd service as well… no greeting, no questions, our server just stood there and looked at us. Disappointing.

Being a fan of HUE in bay view for three years now, I decided to give their new tosa location a try today(since I was in the area and all). Since I have started eating at HUE, I have always ordered the exact same meal. I figure that I love it so much that it just isn’t worth eating something else. So like any usual visit, I ordered the same item only in tosa. When the meal came I was initially terrified that the sausage that tops the Bun I ordered looked different than typical, but after taking a quick taste, I was calmed that it was the same as always just presented differently. Service was quick and pleasant, but not over friendly and our waitress never checked on us, hence the three star review(would have given 3.5 stars if allowed, but not a 4). Overall, the atmosphere was nice, service was alright and food was great.

If you love copious amounts of wilted romaine lettuce and tiny paper thin sheets of shrimp be sure to try the shrimp(flavored) spring rolls. If you brought along dental floss you won’t mind using it after you order hot tea. This is only available loose in a small drip-friendly pot and sieves aren’t available for rent or purchase. Overpriced and somewhat bland Phở($ 13 chicken), I’d try it again to be sure it wasn’t an off night but I’m fresh out of floss.

The place is pretty disorganized and although there were free tables, there were about 10 ppl waiting for more than half and hour to be seated. The bar was crowded with the customer waiting to be seated and we couldn’t even get a drink. So we stood in between the bar and the tables which was awkward since ppl were trying to get through. There were people near the entrance so we couldn’t stand there either. Anyway moving on to the food. It wasp pretty good. I just wish the seafood platter was in a bigger dish. There was no room to put the rice that came with it. So i was eating one seafood bite and one rice bite. Not a well designed presentation.(Yes i could have asked for another plate! But the extra plate options were a mini saucers or a giant bowl) The blowing from the air vents were too much. we all wore out jackets through out the time we were there. The waitress was attentive and friendly and the food overall was great.

feel a little bad being the dissenter from the 5-star reviewers but right now, 3 stars is a good representation of the overall experience. A lot of that is likely due to things that(hopefully) will improve as they’ve been open longer so I’m hopefu this will eventually be a 4 or 5 star update. That said, here’s how it broke down for us: The good: The food(what was available) was great. To start, we tried the beef skewers(tender and delicious) and spring rolls(very large sized and packed full of fresh ingredients). For entrees, Hubs had kitchen sink rice which he really liked and I had chicken phở. The broth on the phở was delicious — better than I remember it being at the Bay View location. Portion sizes for the price are EXTREMELY generous. Both of us had enough leftovers for another full meal. The cocktails(again, what was available) were well made, unique and delicious. Staff seem to be really pleasant but a little unorganized and definitely short staffed overall. The«meh»: I know Hue spent a lot of time getting the space ready but for me, it’s lacking. Too many hard surfaces mean tons of noise and it just feels kind of cold & sterile. Again, things evolve over time do I’m hopeful they can do a little more here. The bad: Way, way, way understaffed. The poor solo bartender was slinging drinks for a full bar plus the entire restaurant space. The host was running to go orders, setting tables and manually adding checks. That meant tables were sitting open for 15 – 20 minutes unnecessarily — we saw at least one party get frustrated and leave. Their computer system isn’t working so everything is written & added up by hand. It seemed to be throwing everyone for a loop. Our server was nice but it took 10 minutes for her to stop at our table, a further 20 minutes for apps and another 30 minutes after that for entrees. They were out of a lot of things at 7pm on Friday. Half the cocktails were 86’d and the first two apps we tried to order were unavailable. Overall: the kitchen is absolutely on point but the front of house needs to get it together. I’m sure this will mprove with time but I’d probably only order take out for the short term.
