Brought a friend from out of town who requested Mexican and BBQ. The waitress was fun and vibrant and so helpful. The entrees were delicious! My friend said that Pit Stop was exactly what he was looking for. We will definitely be back!

The review is regarding the brisket only. Super lean, moist and flavorful! Mmmmm-Mmmm.

DONOTSTOP at the Pit Stop if you’re looking for good BBQ. The brisket was dry and cold. The ribs were ok, but again, they were room temperature at best. Maybe they were having an off day, I don’t understand the good reviews on here. The staff was friendly but it took forever for our food to come out and there were only a handful of folks in the restaurant.

I love this place. Better than any other BBQ place. I love that it is BYOB and the bands on Fri & Sat make it such an awesome place to hang out. Plus, you can bring your kids! It is a bit under staffed but they are friendly and it’s worth it if you have to wait.

So much tasty and the staff is super nice. I would take a picture of my food, but it already had an accident with my mouth. If you are traveling between that place and that other place, be sure to stop by. You will be glad you did.

we have given this two different tries… not really good for the quantity your receive. Quality is just okay… Ribs are good, sliced beef is tender but dry, sausage is okay. We visited last spring, it was the same as today… but today they offered you plenty of flies to go with your meal. Not my cup of tea. I have had better out of my own back yard smoker. do not waste your money, go on into Midlothian or Arlington for better.

I may give this another shot some other time, only because other reviewers seem to think its better than I experienced, but there was nothing at this place when I went that justified anything over 1 star. «Competition BBQ» is on the sign outside, but if you went to competition with this, you would be laughed out the door. I had brisket and ribs and a couple of sides, beans and slaw. The brisket was the driest, most flavorless meat I have ever eaten. If the«competition» is to make your mouth like the desert then this is a «winner»! The ribs seem to have been around a while or sitting in liquid, they were mealy but slightly flavored. You can get substantially better slaw and beans at Walmart. Overall… stay as far away as possible

Visited for the first time on April 8, 2015. Way over priced for the little bit you get. How about some Texas toast at least instead of just slices of white bread? Also, the food was NOTHOT. It took a long time to get our meals & they WERENOTHOT!!! You all might have done well in competition, but that doesn’t mean you know how to run a restaurant. I noticed they were disorganized & really didn’t want to know what the customers really thought. This is BBQ for people who don’t know any better.

In my 62 plus years, I have had the opportunity to consume a lot of BBQ. I stopped by expecting some really good quality cooked BBQ being that they advertise ‘competition style’. This my friends is NOT competition style BBQ. The pitmaster may compete, but he certainly isn’t selling EXACTLY the same meats that he cooks for competition. The brisket hinted a bit of smoke flavor, was to the dry side and the serving size small. Ribs very over cooked. Sides were ok. I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but if you’re just hungry and need to eat then stop on by, but know that there is better BBQ elsewhere. Sorry guys.

Saw the pit stop on the way in and decided to stop. Every bbq place us about the meat, plain and simple. Great brisket and ribs. The chicken didn’t live up to the level of the brisket and ribs, however. Sides are sides and drinks are drinks. Great job on the brisket and ribs!

This place is an insult to Texas BBQ(using McKinney’s Hutchins BBQ as the reference frame). Don’t believe the reviews below. We did, BIG mistake. Brisket was dry as a bone. The«turkey» looked like reconstituted turkey-like mystery meat. I would have feed this garbage to our dog, but he deserves better.

The best ribs I’ve ever eaten. Ever. In the history of ever. If I were on death row and I had one final meal to order… I would get Pit Stop on the phone. Everything else on the menu? WHOCARES??? Why would I fill my stomach with anything other than this perfect food?

Awesome ribs, atmosphere, and great band! We had a blast here! We had the ribs, chicken, sausage, and brisket. All were tender and well prepared. We will definitely be back!

Competition style BBQ with ribs where the meat comes clean off the bones. Brisket is good, not super moist but not dry. All sauce is on the side, sweet. Try the Frito pie: brisket with lots of sauce on Fritos with shredded cheese on top. Great as an appetizer to share. My partner loves fried bologna and had to try their sandwich, the meat is sliced very thick. Excellent sliced pickles, all you can eat along with onions and peppers. The only downfall was the service and we were there at 3 p.m. with only 1 other table of customers. Would recommend the stop.

Usually when someone expands into a larger and new building the quality of food goes down. That is definitely not the case with the Pit Stop. I have eaten there 20 to 30 times when passing through town I have never had a bad piece of brisket. I have never had any fat in the brisket its always tender, lean and the best tasting brisket I have ever eaten

I just want to first say that I simply love Texas barbecue & every time I am in the Lone Star state I have not been steered wrong. My buddy had worked here for a few years but I never had the privilege to try the goodness that came out of that kitchen until this year. I am so sorry I waited, because it is that good. I love combination plates & trying a little bit of everything, the portions were Texas sized which is good because the chicken is tender, ribs are so soft, brisket very juicy & the homemade pie ties the perfect sweet bow around everything. The food was awesome but the place is just as kool. Their new facility had professional darts, horseshoe pits & a grand stage for nighttime musical delights. Now I must warn you this place is a little over 30 minutes outside of Dallas but if you have the time it is well worth the gas plus a replica of the the Addams family house is nearby if the temptation of great barbecue is not enough. I really wish places like this near me but I am just happy they exist at all. Don’t forget to get a drink koosie when you are there.
