I wrote a detailed account of my experience at Flying G Ranch in Waxahachie… but quickly ran out of writing room!!
I ended up taking screen shots of what I had written… so if you wanted a detailed review, you could look at the attached photos and read…
I then discovered that the photos are abit jumbled!
-so, hopefully you can make sense of them.
If you’d rather not read a chapter book of what happened with me at their 2022 Spring Break Camp…Tuesday… then just know this:
I would NOT recommend leaving your inexperienced child at this horse facility.
**I read others reviews… and I saw how the owner will respond to them. -and she already has replied to mine! lol.
And her response back to me is: (“It’s all your fault. You were the issue!”)
-Mrs. Sprite… we went there for a child to have a new experience and have fun…
But, instead we simply discovered a poorly run facility.
You and your staff were unprofessional, unorganized, unsafe and rude!
I find it fascinating that you say multiple of your staff filed complaints about me… that I was interrupting and insulting your staff… and yet you never spoke one word to me when you came down to the horse yard… and then followed me around like a watch dog. (Yes, I noticed)
(Just for the record. I was NEVER interrupting any of your staff. Whoever told you that… lied.
Just for the record: I never once insulted your staff. That’s not my character. I was pleasant the whole time… even with my fake smile. So again, you have staff lying.
And for the record… I was never unsafe.)
-not one of your staff came to me after I spoke to Rebekah about my concerns for my daughters safety and the general chaos in the yard/arena.
I requested that my daughter NOT go on the trail ride, because I did not feel comfortable with her out there as a beginner rider. But to simply allow her a few more turns in the arena, and then done.
But your staff didn’t want her to feel left out, and so allowed me to walk along with her on the trail.
(Where I then witnessed staff members allow a child’s horse to veer off the trail… into tree branches… the child couldn’t stop his horse and no staff went after him!!! They let the horse trailblaze through the woods, to the trail on the other side, and where other riders were present. Why did your staff members not go to a beginner riders rescue then?? Because they were ‘babysitting’ ME, walking beside my daughter. …yeah, makes total sense)
Your staff literally handed little children horses reins, that had never been near a horse before and told them to walk those horse to the arena… with zero instruction on even how to hold the reins of the horse and still stay out of the way of horses hooves!
Not one person on your staff went to the little boy after him being caught between two horses kicking each other (and almost got kicked himself), to educate the child for the future or even ask if he was ok… your staff simply sent him on his way, back in line to the arena with his horse…
That whole incident could have been avoided if your staff had given the beginner riders safety instructions BEFORE they set foot in the yard with abunch of horses!
THEN… to have your staff member tell me in a very angry voice to “please, just go sit down!”, and then grab the reins from my hands… of the horse I had JUST stopped from chasing after a crying-terrified boy!
-No other adult was around to assist him, except me!! And yet, you tell me… in your response to my review of your business… Is that I was the unsafe one, and the problem?!
NO ONE on your staff checked on the little boy after that incident… I had to go over and ask if he was injured... because he was holding his arm still and crying. (thankfully he was un-injured)
I was the only one to reassure him he was ok.
(He looked to be 7years old… )
So, like I said... I would not recommend this place

I don’t believe in bashing a business so I’ll just write something constructive for their parties. One, give the customer a contract outlining every detail of what they are and are not allowed to do so there is no confusion on the day of the party. Two, get the A/C fixed in the banquet hall. Three, a paint job and new roof would be nice since the pictures do not reflect how the building actually looks. Four, consider a business phone if you’re going to host parties to help keep a good communication with your customers. All in all, I do not think I would recommend this place for a party. There was a lot of confusion and not a lot of good communication. In the end the owner was very nice about working with me due to all of the confusion, but as I stated it could have been avoided with a clear contract with all of the do’s and don’ts. I do however think that they do take great care of the horses and do have a great horse riding business. I just don’t believe that venue renting/hosting parties is their thing in my honest opinion.

My daughter and her friends have been riding at this ranch for years now– We love it! The staff is so great– knowledgeable and professional-the horses are well trained. and the trails are scenic. It is just a great overall experience-there are bible studies and barn classes– It isn’t about«competitive» riding– IT is more of a natural approach to riding and understanding horses-and just having a great time and enjoying! There are also Birthday Parties, overnight camps part of the year, riding clubs, trail riding, and arena lessons. Beginner to Advanced– ages 6 – 17! The best part– The prices! $ 35 for a full day of camp and on Saturdays-9−4– Cant beat it! Horseback Riding located just south of Dallas/Fort Worth– We come from Plano every Saturday and it is well worth it! Summer Horseback Riding Camps and Holiday Camps are also great!
