We visited after our camping trip, on our way home and stopped at the Mustard Seed, so glad we did. The food was fabulous. I ordered the Buddha Bowl with Chicken and hubby ordered a traditional Burger, we both enjoyed it. Service was excellent!

The food was a refreshing break from traditional establishments in this area. Everything we hoped for and more. Ordered burgers and desert. Wish I had a place like this closer to home.

I only learned of The Mustard Seed this past week, thanks to my cousin who’s heart resides in Waymart. This place definitely appealed to my love of local, organic, and fresh sustainable foods. I was quite surprised to find a place like this in a small town like Waymart. Having known Waymart since I was knee high to a grasshopper, I have always viewed it as a meat and potatoes kind of place. I’m proud to say that it seems to be changing. Either that or my views were skewed by Waymart friends and family who are strictly meat and potato people.(You know who you are, lol.) Ok so the food, that’s why you’re reading this, correct? The food was great and I mean that. The menu offered alot of unique dishes and you could tell that careful consideration is paid to quality ingredients. We were having brunch so the menu was a bit limited but by no means boring or unimaginative. To start with I had coffee. Coffee is coffee in most places and we only tend to notice if it’s bad, but this actually got my attention. The coffee was smooth but not overpowering or bitter. A really good cup of coffee and organic sugar to boot. In fact, all of the beverages we sampled were very good. Fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit were the highlights for sure. Ok…ok. on to actual food. So I don’t ordinarily consider soup for brunch, but this caught my eye and I simply had to try it. Carrot and cabbage soup, what? Yes, and it was delectable. I never thought of carrots and cabbage as decadent, but that is how I describe this soup. It was like a warm hug on a cold day and had such a depth of flavor I find it hard to describe. Everyone at the table adored it, one of us even got a bowl to go. If you’re reading this, you must try it. For my main course I had the breakfast flat bread pizza. It encompassed caramelized onion, kale, prosciutto, mozzarella cheese and a fried egg with a perfectly runny yolk on top. I really enjoyed it. The ingredients complimented each other and it told me that the people cooking my food truly understood the what they create. Very hard to find these days… Bravo! As for what the others in my party were eating I cannot personally comment as they opted for the sweeter type fare and I didn’t sample. However, I can tell you they had the gluten free pancakes and berry french toast with«real honest to God maple syrup». They both said they loved what they had eaten. The only real negatives for me were the price and the portion. The prices seemed a tad high and the portions could have been bigger. I understand that maintaing a higher standard doesn’t come cheap, especially using organic ingredients, I get it. However this isn’t my first rodeo and our billl was $ 58 bucks. I will definitely return because by in large we all really enjoyed this place. I would definitely frequent more often if it was a bit cheaper or the portions were a bit larger.

Went for the first time about a month ago and the food was excellent! We asked if we could sit at the outside tables with our dog and they were very accommodating. Our food that and every time since has been very fresh and of course delicious. Our server was very pleasant and we could not ask for anything more from our experiences each time we have went.

A good farm to table café that you wouldn’t be surprised to find in a revitalized urban area or a big city suburb. Neat menu with some unique items. Average cost of a breakfast item is around $ 8.

Bright, clean place with good food and fresh ingredients. Had the grilled cheese with bacon jam and pesto. It was excellent. Strawberry shortcake was real biscuit style with clotted cream; also excellent. Lots of healthy options. Only negative was the smoothies are overpriced by about $ 2. Will be back.

A far to «precious» little café with high prices and small portions. Service was painful even though the place was empty. Pass on this one.

Excellent breakfast and lunch menus. Wife is gluten and dairy free and they have many selections that meet both. Been for lunch and breakfast and all our choices were delicious. We will be back.

I’m spoiled with good food in Raleigh, NC. What a pleasant surprise to find this new joint in my husband’s hometown! Delicious, fresh and a seasonal menu. Desserts were great too! So nice to see gluten free and vegan options as well. I really hope it thrives because I would love to return!

These people know what they’re doing. This is a delightful restaurant in every way and will be our new go to spot for a healthy, tasty lunch in a friendly atmosphere. The food is thoughtfully prepared keeping in mind that quality is everything. I only hope they start serving dinner soon!

Awesome little café with friendly staff and amazing fresh food for breakfast and lunch. It’s a pleasant surprise to find a place offering organic, local, fresh food in such a small town. Daily specials, good pricing for the quality of food and portions. They offer gluten free and vegan options! Can’t wait to visit again! I had the daily special Baja Wrap and it was very flavorful and filling, yet light and fresh tasting. They also offer homemade baked goods!

Excellent! Very attractive little café. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent quality, healthy, well prepared and nicely presented. The prices were very reasonable. Will definitely visit again when the opportunity arises. They even have gluten free options and seem knowledgable enough about cross contamination issues that we’d trust coming with our celiac son and daughter.
