Terrible! Went to Amore for the first and last time last night for New Years Eve. When we got there it took over 5 minutes for a hostess to even acknowledge us. When we get seated, they did not give us menus. We had to open our own bottles of wine and ask our waitress to bring us menus. Then we were told we had to order everything at once. We ordered appetizers and entrees. Our appetizers took 30 minutes to come out. Then almost an hour later, we still hadn’t gotten our dinner and our waitress had not checked up on us at all. We asked for the manager and he said he would figure it out. 10 minutes later they started bringing food out and it was not what we ordered. They had run out of things and not told us they were substituting for something else. One of our steaks was cold and another one of our food had a hair in it. At that point we got up and left! Absolutely awful experience! I do not recommend this place!

Visited last evening, Christmas eve for dinner. Appetizers = 50 minutes, main course 2 hours. So bad that rounds of applause rang out from each patron /table once they finally recvd the dish. Customers were actually storming the kitchen to retrieve their dinner. Food was adequate. I woud skip this place… also prices were a bit high for the quality of food prepared.

First time at Amore this past weekend even though i’ve lived in wayne basically my whole life, however i just had never eaten there before. our table had some great appetizers to split. We got the calamari and the Caprese salad. The Caprese salad was fresh and pretty good and the calamari was better than i’ve had at a couple other places recently. My entrée was a fettuccine in a light cream sauce with shrimp and asparagus and cherry tomatoes and i have to say it was excellent! I really enjoy that type of dish in general so i find myself ordering it when i go out to eat at different restaurants and this dish at amore was definitely one of the better ones in my opinion. I will definitely be back to try more!

A great find! Service and food are top notch. Amazing atmosphere and excellent place to take the family or just your spouse. We love It here and won’t do Italian anywhere else.

Have been here twice in the past couple of months(my mom and I try new places weekly, usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday — if it’s worthy, we go back!) ;) The first time we went, we had a great experience, so we went back last week and had an equally wonderful experience from the service to the food. We went in the summer, around 6PM and it was about ½ full… this most recent time, there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant when we arrived(a few more showed up throughout our meal). The only ‘complaint’ was that the restaurant is above their first floor bar area and you could hear the music from the bar through the floors/walls(there was some background music in the restaurant, but it was drowned out by the bar) — maybe they need better sound-proofing, or during the weeknights, when the crowds are smaller, turn the bar music down? No big-deal, though — we could still talk and hear ourselves. The first time we visited, I ordered the Orecchiete alla Barese — «little ear» paste with sausage, broccoli rabe, red pepper flakes in garlic/oil. Holy yumminess! I wanted to eat it all and lick my plate clean, but alas, I couldn’t finish it and had to take some home(which was eaten the next day for lunch!) We ordered the house cabernet on both visits, which was a fine choice, and were served fresh warm bread with our meals. Last week, we decided to split one of the special appetizers, the bufala mozzarella with tomatoes and basil. OMG — the cheese was so sweet and creamy, it was absolutely amazing — again, we wanted to lick the plate clean! There were 4 thick slices of cheese atop the 4 rounds of sliced tomatoes, basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For my main dish, I ordered the grilled shrimp over sautéed spinach(I subbed out the broccoli rabe) and white beans. 6 huge perfectly grilled shrimp were served with a hearty serving of spinach and beans. There was nothing left to take home. My mom ordered the Tilapia amore, with artichokes, mushrooms, tomatoes, herbs in a white wine sauce. She really enjoyed it(I tried a bite and I’m not sure if it was the citrusy flavor of the artichokes, but I didn’t really care for it — she ate almost all of it, though). We were pretty stuffed both times, so there was absolutely no room for dessert. But, both times, the service(Jose, Carlos, Gustavo) was fantastic — smiling, attentive, personable — just all around a very positive experience, and we’ll definitely be back!(they have various rooms that can be closed off for private parties — great for showers, holiday parties, birthdays, etc.)!! Prices are very comparable — food is excellent, service is wonderful — what more could you want!!!

Above average food and great service! On a number of occasions, we enjoyed the calamari and other appetizers and our entrees(usually a meat and a pasta) were enjoyable! The décor in the one dining room is a bit outdated and its a bit odd that theres another area downstairs, but, overall, a nice night out.

Terrible service in the bar area. Sat 15 minutes just to order a beer and another 15 to realize it wasn’t coming. Bartenders only interest was of the male clientele. Looks like another customer walks out the doors is the common goal of the new amore

Tried this place a few times. Food is good but always find the service lacking(seems they need a few more servers).

I just wanted to let everyone know the food was decent a little pricy but it was ok. The reason for the 2 star is the staff and the lack of attention to detail or customer service, it doesn’t exist at this place at least not when I was there. My food was brought to the wrong table and the server was anything less than friendly I will not be returning anytime soon.

What a pleasant surprise. We went to Amore only because we were going to see a friend’s band at the downstairs bar. At the end of the evening, we all agreed we would go back to Amore. We ordered special spinach salad with grilled shrimp. It had a nice amount of large shrimp and cooked well. Second dish was Tilapia Amore. My wife ordered this dish and she is not a fish eater. She loved the dish. I tried a little and it was very good. My friend had a pasta dish with shrimp and cream sauce. He couldn’t stop raving about the taste. I had the Cappellini Amore. Tasted excellent. The glass of wine was a really nice portion. They put 4 pieces of bruchetta on the table, plus a bread basket. All tasted very good. The service was outstanding. Absolutely is a place I would go back.

I had zuppe de pesce as did the mrs. We were both blown away how good it was. We used a groupon which made it an excellent value. Great spice and fresh Very nice

We came here with a pretty damn good Groupon deal: thirty nine bucks got us two glasses of house wine, an appetizer, and two entrées! The Groupon deal was so good that the tables on each side of us had the same exact Groupon. We came on a Thursday night and it appeared that there was a rehearsal dinner party in another room. We were seated promptly upon our arrival but did not see the waiter for about ten minutes. I can’t blame the waiter, considering he was the only one working the dining room; just poor staffing on days that the restaurant caters. For our wine I ordered the Cabernet Sauvignon and the wife ordered a glass of Merlot. For house wine, the Cabernet was pretty good! For an appetizer: We got the Calamari Balsamico, which was fried calamari drizzled with a really tasty balsamic reduction. You could tell that the resturant breaded their own calamari since the breading was crisp and flaky, plus they had tentacles(my favorite part of calamari). For entrées: I love brocoli rabe and i was in a veal mood, So I ordered the Veal Pinnard. Which was four nice pieces of veal served over a bed of brocoli rabe and cannellini beans in almost a pasta fagioli style sauce. This dish was so tasty, I couldn’t get enough of it, plus im a big sucker for broccoli rabe. The wife ordered the Gnocchi ala Vodka which looked awesome. For Dessert: My wife is a huge fan of crème brûlée, so that’s what we ordered. I have to say, they make their crème brûlée perfectly, the top was not too thick and not burnt tasting at all. Another cool thing was that we had ordered a second glass of wine and they didn’t charge us for it. Maybe it was for the slow service? I will keep this place in mind next time I’m in the mood for Italian.

Great purchase with the Groupon deal for 2 offer! Basically for $ 25, you get one appetizer, two entrees and 2 desserts. I was not in the mood for vegetarian wrap or sandwich, they were very flexible and made a vegetarian pasta for me which was not on their menu. We had crab cake for appetizer, beef sliders, shrimp pasta and vegetarian pasta for entrees. I don’t eat meat and seafood, but I did try the mushrooms on the side of the crab cake appetizer and the pasta from the shrimp pasta entrée. They tasted good, the pasta tasted way much better than my vegetarian pasta. I also tried the fries on the side the of beef sliders, and really liked them. So, everything we ordered from their menu tasted good. If you could, just stick with their menu. Service was very attentive. I liked that their entrees and appetizers were in good portion, we ended up taking home a lot of food. I noticed that they have prix fixe lunch special for $ 14, which would totally worth trying out without the Groupon offer.

This used to be located on Union Blvd in Totowa and it was amazing. We had gone maybe four or five times once we discovered it and we’re very pleased but then…”… They moved to the old Greenhouse Café in Wayne and it was awful! Not just once or twice but all three times we tried it. The service was awful. The seats were all cramped in and the food was oily and tasted only like salt! I would not go back if they paid us too

Came here for a friend’s birthday on a Tuesday night. Surprisingly there was a nice crowd for a quiet night, which means it HASTOBEGOOD. They did not disappoint. I am still dreaming about the balsalmic calamari. The Caprese was good, really fresh ingredients with yummy Olives! You can BYOB wine only which is nice as I was not really impressed with their wine selection. Excellent entrée, I ordered the tilapia and my boyfriend ordered the veal which he raved about. They give big portions so I had leftovers to take home which was still delish the next day. After dinner we went downstairs to the bar which is really nice. They have a fancy jukebox which is fun but the crowd can be questionable.

Upon walking into Amore’s Cucina we were welcome by Joe who took our coats and seated us at a table for two next to the window. We were soon greeted by our waiter Gonzalo who took care of us for the evening. Amore offer’s half bottle’s of wine which was perfect for my wife and I to have about a glass and a half each. For appetizers we had the Pasta Fagioli and Goat Cheese Salad. The pasta fagioli is just how I remember the Columbia Inn in Montville making it. The salad had mango, walnuts, and maybe cranberry which really lightened it up and made it all go so well with the goat cheese. For entrees I had the special, a short ribs over home made spaghetti, absolutely delicious and well worth the $ 25. My wife had the Rigotoni with peas and meat sauce which was also excellent. After dinner we skipped dessert and went downstairs to check out the bar. It wasn’t crowded yet, we sat at the bar had some beers and chatted with Jen the bartender. The atmosphere is very homey, it feels like you had dinner at grandma’s upstairs and all the cousins go into the basement to have a drink and watch football. All and all this is a great place for a big party, big family dinner, first date, romantic date, or just to chill and watch sports downstairs on the flat screens. I think for the location, price, quality, and quantity of food you really can’t go wrong.

A small dining room is open at lunch with another much larger dining room used for dinner service. Nice décor, more formal than casual. The walls, the drapes and the tablecovers are all coral color. Now that I think of it the outside is painted the same coral or salmon color. A few paintings on the walls. Background music is Italian. Service is fine. Moderately busy. Two of us stopped in for a quick lunch today. Spaghetti carbonara for me. Rigatoni bolognese for my friend. Both very nicely prepared. House salads were mixed greens with a tasty Italian style dressing. Good bread. Can’t complain at all. Full bar. Nice enough to take my wife to dinner. Compares favorably with Aldo’s and daVinci which are also local but which are BYO.
