Warning: This review is rather gloomy. This hurts me to write this review. but here we go: I was one of their biggest fans and best customers. Things started getting bizarre. The hours got weird: they were open, they were closed, they were closed, they were open, etc, etc, etc. The special board would be blank for weeks at a time. They had a broken soda machine that sat there for almost 6 months. The place was just falling apart at a rapid pace. They were always out of simple stuff, like one day they were out of chicken for their chicken cheese steaks. For several weeks there is a sign that’s says closed for vacation, which in the restaurant world might as well say closed for renovations(no restaurant is ever closed for renovations, it just translates to «Out of Business»). A few weeks before that sign went up the staff put up a sign that read«Closed due to negligent owner» What happened?

Was good. i was in in the mood for a cheese steak today so i said what the hell. I was here when it was the last place. I got the number 12 large. chicken, steak, bacon, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. It was very tasty and very big. Had it with cheese fries. Big portions. Drink selections were limited, soda machine was broken and the case only had a couple cans. So ill be back to try again. Try it if your in the mood for a decent sandwich!

Went back a 3rd time and the rumors are true. The place was cleaner, fresh coat of paint, and all ceiling tiles were fixed! Person behind the counter was sweeping the floor and cleaning tables. Sadly the entire fountain soda machine was still broke :( When I worked in a restaurant we had seabreeze out the same day they broke to fix them. Also no name brand ketchup to save a few cents,…instead of Heinz. Cheesesteak was greasy and roll was really hard. Price is about average, menu confusing. Why not a combo? Lets say cheesteak, fries and coke…$ 8.00-$ 10.00 ?

Cheesesteaks and rolls are fresh! Chicken wings are a little pricey. Overall, a good eat.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to realize that this place is going under. The soda fountain machine is broke, they have no utensils, tables were not wiped down, and all they have in the soda fridge was fresco, orange soda and a shit load of diet Pepsi. They didn’t even have bottled water. I went to order a buffalo chicken sandwich, which I’ve had before and they were out of chicken. So I settled on the works cheesesteak, which was surprisingly good! The fries were gross, the grease was nasty and tasted old. Their excuse for the lack of products, is that they were«really» busy today and ran out! Then I over heard him tell a customer that he gets supplies every other days. I’m calling his bluff. While I was munching, I was listening to the two dudes talk. They were trying to come up with«better hours». I don’t know, the place looks first but the food is okay, hopefully I don’t get the runs. I wish them luck. And they were out of waffle fries! Wow

I really really want to like this place because a few of my friends and family come here often. I had a few bites of the cheese steak sandwich but it was very chewy and fries were super greasy. The place was a tad dirty to me. My stomach was funky ½ later… Don’t think I’ll be back any time soon.

Best Cheesesteak in New Jersey and I would say having had Cheesesteaks in Philly, WAYBETTER. Easily the best cheesesteaks I have ever had and this is coming from an avid Cheesesteak guy and a stickler when it comes to them. Great, friendly service, fair prices, great portions, and awesome awesome food. And I know this place is called Boardwalk Cheesesteak and it’s a scary thought but the rest of the menu is JUSTASGOOD. Amazing, amazing experience here. A MUSTGOFORANYFANOFGOODFOOD.

My favorite cheesesteak in NJ… Rivals if not superior to the best cheesesteaks in Philly. They use a harder Italian type of roll and it is a great and different take on the Philly versions. Highly recommend the cheesesteak with American and Wiz. They are passionate about their steaks.

I was literally going to take a nostalgia trip to Philly and go to Pat’s for a cheese steak(I used to go there back in college) when something told me to check to see if there was anything local that could save me a 4 hour round trip drive. Thankfully, I found this place. I can’t believe it has been here all this time and I just found out about it. The owner seemed pretty cool. Even though they were closing up, they let me eat my food there. I went with a standard steak, cheese and onions. This was just as good as Pat’s or Geno’s(yeah, they are tourist traps, but they are still good), if not better, since I did not have to drive 200 miles to get there. I plan to go back.

I’ve been here a few times. Very good cheesesteaks and service. They have a good variety on the traditional cheesesteak. So far I’ve tried the BLT cheesesteak and the hot sauce/bleu cheese varieties. Very good!

I give it a 3.5 but they could definitely fix up a few things. The owners are super chill but sometimes too chill. I mean, a permanent menu. Really? a poster board with marker’d menu items? Quite unprofessional. The dining area is nice but not superb however there is a really nice LCD tv but the tables are sometimes dirty. The cheesesteak was at upmost decent but nothing like what they would have in Philly or at a really good cheesesteak joint. The meat is really good though. I would definitely suggest avoiding take out here too as it gets messed up being bagged. I should’ve tried a sandwich different than the traditional cheesesteak, which I will next time. Overall a pretty awesome place though.

This is a pretty solid cheesesteak joint, and that is comparing it to your joints in Philly. For a place like this to be found in North NJ is pretty amazing. I don’t understand how something as easy as a cheesesteak gets so fuc’d up so often up here, but it does. Going to school in the Philly area for four years I got a taste of the best of what Philly had to offer. I learned that Pats and Genos are nothing but tourist traps and I learned about a place named Johns roast pork in South Philly and a place named Chinks in North Philly which are the best cheesesteaks you will find anywhere on this planet. These cheesesteaks are not as good as either chinks or johns but def just as good as the steaks you can find on any given corner in the Philly area. They use good quality meat, which is chopped perfectly and not overcooked. They know how to cook the onions just right and best yet they know how to mix the white American cheese into the steak so the two become one. One of my favorite things about this place is that their is a pretty solid liquor store in the same strip mall and the owners are mad chill where they let you bring a six pack in, get a cheese steak and enjoy the game on the big screen LCD tv. All in all an awesome place, that puts out an awesome Philly cheesesteak run by awesome ppl.

These cheesesteaks MELT in your mouth. I am especially a fan of the macaroni salad with the jalapenos. One bite and you will be hooked! The portions are also great. I drive a ways to get great food and it’s worth the mileage and gas :0)

Came here for lunch after a friend that lives in the area raved about it. Definitely will come back! The meat(you have the option of beef or chicken) was of good quality… the chicken was actually grilled chicken, the beef was chopped meat like a normal cheesesteak. They had a million options to choose from but I went with the traditional peppers & onions for my first attempt. The small is a decent size, I could have split it with a friend and ordered fries or another side. Great flavor and I loved the bread. It’s more of a typical Italian bread than the traditional soft/mushy Philly Cheesesteak bread. Definitely bonus points for that. Employees were friendly and there was a constant flow of people coming in and out to eat. Next time I’ll attempt one of the other concoctions the have! Plus the fried mac & cheese or fried pickles.

For the most part a cheese steak is a cheese steak… having said that Boardwalk Cheese steaks are really good. plus they have a huge menu of options. It’s a lot of food with a cool vibe and a reasonable price. It’s worth a look

This location has been a cheesesteak place under different names/owners. Now it Is Boardwalk Cheesesteak. Food is better than before, more generous portions. Good quality meat. A little skimpy on the cheese. Excellent fries. Sandwiches range from $ 5.95 to $ 7.45. An extra $ 1.00 gets you extra meat on the same bun. Fries are $ 1.95. A small soda is $ 1.50. Sixteen kinds of wings. Decent selection of salads and sides. A little more expensive than I usually pay for lunch; but you could share a sandwich and order a second soda. Good food; friendly service. Order at the counter and grab a table; they will bring out your food.
