This place is legendary! I don’t understand why it doesn’t have 5 stars from everybody, I would drive hours for this place if I had to, luckily I don’t. As a vegetarian I love how many options they have for me. Even when I ate meat I loved this place. It’s a takeout place. They have a few tables and chairs for dining in, but they don’t serve your table. The staff is fantastic. When I call and place an order I’m always skeptical due to the language barrier at first, but then I remember who I’m calling! China Garden never messes up my order! It doesn’t matter if I order 20 different meals at once, they always say «15 minutes» and it never fails! Could go on and on. Adore this place, love it, I would marry it!

I’m not sure where are the great comments are coming from. My husband brought home carry out from here based on the Unilocal scores and we were disappointed.
The almond chicken had potential but was so dry that I had a hard time cutting it with a knife. I’m not one to turn away food but I could not even chew it!
I can see if the spice level in a dish was off for somebody or maybe the sauce was too thick, but to mess up just cooking chicken is absurd. Avoid this place!

Good fresh Chinese food. We like the Chicken and Mushroom with Fred Rice and the Wonton Soup. We also like the Crab Rangoons. The people behind the counter are not the friendliest folks around, but they get the job done and consistently provide a good product. 3 stars and I’ll be back…

I am always leary to try new Chinese restaurants but my favorite place keeps making changes and not for the better. So my in laws suggested this place so we decided to give it a try. The place was very busy which was a good sign and the place was pretty clean. Best of all i could watch them prepare my food which was a real plus in my opinion. The staff was okay but not overly enthusiastic. So we ordered 4 combo meals of sesame chicken, general tso’s chicken, sweet and sour chicken and szechuan chicken (yes we like chicken lol) combo includes fried rice an egg roll plus the meat. One thing I didn’t like is the sesame and general chicken were chopped into tiny pieces and then breaded thus getting to much breading but the flavor was there. The sweet and sour chicken was soggy and the sauce was very bland. My go to dish is the szechuan chicken and it is hard to find where it is good and flavorful and this one was excellent it only lacked in gravy only because it soaked into the rice which was my fault for not ordering extra like i usually do. We also ordered crab rangoon but it tasted off so it’s not something I would order again. What ultimately pissed me off was that they don’t give you plum sauce in your to go bag so we had four egg rolls plain that really lacked in flavor, i saw packages of duck sauce but i didn’t put it together because anywhere i have went made their own plum sauce and apparently these guys don’t. The wait wasn’t long considering how busy they were. This place definitely has the potential and with a few changes they could be exceptional definitely losta star for no plum sauce. We will probably go back before we make our final decision.

Favorite Chinese restaurant. This is a no frills type of place but the food is great. They have the best egg rolls I have ever had! Restaurant appears clean and u can see the kitchen while ordering your food

Really good food, and service with Great prices as well. I come here often now for lunch break and food is always great and fresh and haven’t had a problem with them, definitely recommend this place:)

Have any cats or dogs gone missing in the area. If they have they probably served them to you. Worst Chinese food I ever had.

I have been here many times. always happy. My daughter is in love with the sweet and sour chicken, and I am a huge fan of the General’s chicken.
Don’t expect much from the décor (ack) or the service (what else you want? you done? .total? you want total???) but the food is what its all about.
Never had a bad meal.
I highly recommend this place. honestly it is the best Chinese in Wayne.

I think its great! I’ve been going there since it opened some years back. Very nice people that work hard. Clean restaurant. There is some tables there if you wanna dine in. They give my daughter extra fortune cookies too:) Sweet and Sour sauce, mmmmm.

This spot is… well a building and it has food. It’s the 2.0 GPA of Asian food chains, basically you passed the class, and you may have had a few shining moments on an assignment or 2, but you definitely shouldn’t feel good about yourself after. It gets the job done, but only if you’re a lover of Chinese food, and go with the super basic options. I can’t think of the name right now, but I’d recommend the establishment on Middlebelt (a little past Ford rd) on the East side of the street (right hand side if your driving North, Left hand side if you’re driving south), food quality and preparation is on a whole different level at that restaurant which isn’t too far away from anyone who would be considering going to China Garden, and while China Garden staff isn’t rude, they’re certainly not friendly, and seem more interested in their personal conversations than your business

Don’t be fooled they may look like your typical Chinese restaurant but it is good. The food is excellent, the service is OK. They make whatever you want you can customize your order, I really like that flexibility. I live near a popular Chinese restaurant in Canton but I prefer this place price is good and food is good too. They also give you a lot.

Everything was fresh. Crab rangoons and egg rolls were especially good, as well as their house-​made hot mustard. It was nice you could see the kitchen which looked very clean.

Been here a few times now, and always order the General Tso’s Chicken. I come here usually after visiting Wayne Rec and just need to get something quick. After last night, don’t think I’ll be back for quite a while. After ordering General Tso’s there 3 times, I thought there would be something redeeming in the taste that would make me come back for more — that’s not the case, I believe my short term memory must be fading.
Everytime, they say they can make it as spicy as I want, and each time I order it extra hot. Unfortunately, extra hot is less than mild. I have no clue what they are adding that they think makes it spicy, but it doesn’t translate to the dish itself. The chicken soaked up all the sauce, and the rice was bland. The egg roll was good at best.
After seeing some reviews bragging about the pot stickers, I decided to give them a try. The inside was great, but small, and the dough was thick and chewy. Not in the same class as my favorite, New Peking Pot Stickers at all. I started removing the meat inside from the dough and just ate that… Ugh.
After 3x, that’s enough for me. I’ll stick with China Gate down the street in Westland for carry out… Hopefully I’ll look at the reviews to see mine the next time I pull in the parking lot for a reminder…

Too sweet general Tsos chicken and very small cuts of chicken crispy because it was all batter can’t find the chicken !
Fiend rice at lunch combo was descent ! Hit as hell inside ! It’s 86 f but they turn there AC on ! No way I’ll be back !

I have been going to this place for 4+ years now. Never once had a problem (customer service has always been a little crappy), I ordered dinner a few nights ago for my family of 5, 3 kids under the age of 10… we had a late night and I needed quick dinner. I ordered carry out (the same thing I order every single time, we are vegetarians and never change our order). Our order was over $ 40+ and I spend $ 100+ there a week. We are good loyal customers. On this night my order was completely wrong. All the food was extra spicy (3 kids can’t eat that) extra food I didn’t order but paid for and the quality was embarrassing! There were also meat products we are unable to eat and definitely did not order!
I called and was given the absolute WORST customer service I have ever received!!! I was told there was no way to prove they messed the order up. That I could drive all the food all the way back and then wait while they re-​made all of it only after returning the wrong food. This is all at 9 pm. I explained we already drove there and waited and I could not load 3 kids back into the car this late and wait for food to be cooked again, on a school night. I explained id cook (as we could not eat the food due to spiciness and meat products we do not eat) and would like a refund and would get it tomorrow. Not only was I accused of lying, and argued with I was also hung up on. The poor girl who answers the phone begged the «manager» to refund at least one item and he refused!
Considering we spend roughly $ 400 a month at this place and have been loyal customers for over 4 years and never once complained, you’d think they would gladly refund our money! Instead we were treated with disrespect and a complete and total lack of responsibly! We will NEVER EVER return to this establishment ever again and will go out of our way to encourage others not to as well! WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

Good price. Decent food. Fast. Good for carry out when I don’t feel like cooking for the fam! Spring rolls are excellent!

Honestly, we only ever get the General Tso’s chicken. And it’s good.
I’ve ordered it extra spicy and they never seem to make it extra spicy, but it’s inexpensive and still tastes good. Not built for eating in, but that’s okay with me.

My husband and I have traveled from Southfield, and now we travel from Ypsilanti to come to this Chinese restaurant, it is by far The Best! The only downside is that it’s freezing in the winter and hot in the summer if you do eat there, which we often do. They have four tables set up, and all the utensils, plates, etc. you need.

We have been this place for years. Best Chinese food in a town. Lunch Combo is reasonable and they give you PAKCED fried rice and plenty meat in a container. As a family of 4, we usually order 2 lunch and that’s plenty actually. Sometime we order 3, so we can have left over on the next day. Staffs there are very friendly and their kitchen is clean.
The restaurant manager was very nice when he was closing the restaurant but I had called my order without knowing he was closing. He made my ONE order and waited till I got there. It was way past his closing time. I was very thankful since I was starving and tired. I would recommend this place to anyone.
