After reading the reviews decided to try was disappointed. Tom yum soup was terrible water dumplings were only ok. Complained about the soup and staff was like so what.

All other Chinese takeout is ruined for me now. They use actual, real chicken and the rice tastes super fresh and delicious. A bit pricey but honestly worth it. And they deliver!

I went here for a company party. The restaurant is situated on the water. It was dark when I went but there were beautiful reflections on the water. There is a deck and one could probably sit outside in warmer weather. It seems somewhat small but attractive. Ate these delicious fried wanton type things with what seems like cream cheese and onion inside. Loved the Pad Thai, the beef with no sauce and crispy noodles and string beans. Can’t remember all that I ate! Dessert was this chocolate and vanilla ice cream with fried bananas and chocolate sauce drizzled over it. Yum! Service was attentive. Potholes in lot need repair. Came here last week for the 1st time in about 2 or 3 years. We mostly eat Chinese food at home, take out from local restaurant in North Haledon. Double Ai has always been a good place for a sit down Chinese dinner. Looks like the place has been remodeled & cleaned up inside recently. They also have a large deck outside looking over a lake, will have to come during the spring or summer when it’s warmer. Wife & I aren’t sushi fans, so we stick with their Chinesse & Thai food. We had Thai spring rolls, Thai fried rice with chicken, pineapple, & mango and a surf & turf dish with shrimp, steak, & mixed veggies. For dessert they gave us complimentary ice cream a sliced orange. Nice dinner for under $ 50. Service was friendly & for the most part, attentive. 2 waitresses were taking care of the whole place.

Been wanting to try this place for awhile so we went on a Saturday night about 530. Pull into lot and park. As we are walking towards entrance a person comes outside and says to us – this is a valet lot. I respond with ok good and continue walking. He again says I’m telling you this is a valet lot. He then says sorry I was in the bathroom. Ok fine. What do you want from me. Next time I will valet if there is a next time. He makes us feel so uncomfortable that we decide to leave. As we are getting back in car a manager comes out and apologizes and says please come inside he is new. Sorry. Ok we go in. Now they ask if we have a reservation. No. It’s 530 and there is one table in use. Come on. They sit us with an attitude and immediately start to rush us. It’s like they really didn’t want us there. Thru out the whole meal we were hovered over, starred at and rushed. It was very uncomfortable. After eating and before asking if we wanted dessert they bring us the check. We said sorry the kids want ice cream. We ordered and took our time eating it to. All I will say about the food is its your run of the mill Chinese food. Nothing jumped at us at all. Very average at best. It seemed to me most people who showed up while we were there were regulars and that’s who got the best service and actually got to have a conversation with the employees and manager for a bit as opposed to just business. Here is a helpful suggestion – you don’t need valet – your a Chinese restaurant on a lake in Wayne nj. Your not a hot spot in the city. Another tip – fix your parking lot. There are so many ruts and holes and patches it’s an accident waiting to happen. China paradise is right down the road – go there.

Great sushi rolls. My favorites so far are the princess roll and the spicy girl roll. The gyosas are phenomenal. Much better than the dumplings. They have Thai ice tea listed on the menu, but the two times I went, the had run out. The view at dusk/night is amazing. Great for a date night. But I recommend bug repellent. They have candles but it wasn’t enough.

Wow looks like this place has gone downhill! We ordered here two nights ago and received pure garbage. I specifically asked for them to include the chips for my kids who look for them and duck sauce to dip. Well they did include the chips but they were clearly over a day old. The duck sauce had spilled out all over everything. Gross. What a mess! The entrées that we ordered were just dried out and old tasting. As if they were microwaved. Yuck. The sushi was delicious, I must say they still have that. Finally I ordered an eggroll that was disgusting!!! For $ 81.00? Never again.

Great asian offerings here — Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and sushi — and all of them are great! Casual atmosphere, fresh food at a great price! BYOB — you can’t beat it! Service can be a bit slow at times, and there is so much more they can do with the space overlooking the lake, but they are slowly improving and now have a great outdoor patio as well! The owner is there all the time checking in and clearly working hard with a smile on his face.

Double Ai is such a great place. Came to lunch with my daughters, the food was really good and we got an awesome view of the water as well. Sushi was fresh and great portions for lunch. Miso soup was very light and not overly salty, which is easy to do. We were all happy and we will be back.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I stopped in for lunch. I knew I liked the lakeside view form the deck. I was pleasantly surprised by the attentive service and good food. Great summer local spot. It’s BYOB so be sure to bring a nice bottle of wine to enjoy with friends or family.

HORRIBLE. Don’t waste your money. Location and clueless patrons keep this place open because it’s certainly not the food or service. They changed their name a few years back and that’s about it. All is the same as it was a few years ago, after recently we were stuck on dine out choices, we said let’s try again and see if things changed, after getting a string of bad meals there a few years back. The food is not good, service is terrible, the food quality is not where it should be, my veggies were limp, shrimp overcooked, made with a huge amount of garlic sauce where the dish swam in the sauce. It’s all unsettling really and the bad experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. How rude too the owners make customers suffer for providing a lack of servers BUT has 4 bussers on the floor with nothing to do half the time? We observed much, and we were ready to walk out, as we were ignored for a while but we were hungry and stuck it out, then, 1 crazed waitress for 8 tables came to take our order, followed by being made to wait for our app. egg rolls another 15 minutes, then our egg rolls came being ice cold inside, undercooked, sent back. Observing the comedy of errors for as long as we sat, which was way too long, spectators of the clear mismanagement and carelessness, it was pitiful. All the while the owners are socializing up front without a care. We should’ve left when we had the chance. Food, once you are lucky enough to get a waitress to order it, and takes so, so, long and there’s no logic as to why, when it comes, it is so very disappointing, very. Also, should add, my friend was served the wrong dish, which he ordered correctly, and was made to wait for another and it too was swimming in a sauce like none before and he said it didn’t taste very good. Everything was so shameful and unreal to witness and encounter. Let me put it this way: Even if I was offered an entire years worth of free meals at this place, I would refuse it and say, please keep your careless and crappy food. Not worth my time or my stomach. Shame on you Double Ai.

Valet only, interesting, maybe it was because it was a Friday night or the fact they need to repave their parking lot –there were so many huge potholes! The out door seating had a great view of the lake, but it was a chilly night so we sat inside. Food was good! I loved the orange beef and house special noodle! And the complimentary ice cream at the end was a perfect surprise! Def will be back when the weather is warmer :)

Ugh, great food, astonishing bad service. In one seating: Appetizers delivered to wrong table, eventually found their way to us. After appetizers cleared away, still waiting 45 minutes later for dinner. Finally able to flag down manager. My dinner arrived, but not spouse’s. Flagged down manager again, spouse’s dinner arrives — but not what he ordered. Meanwhile, I’m done eating so we opt to pay bill and cancel his meal. Can’t get check so we walk to register. Manager ignores us, so we walk out.

Me and my girlfriend decided to get take out and we chose to order from here. Since I was on my way to her house I decided to go in, order and wait there. The staff was so friendly and even gave me a complimentary cup of tea. The atmosphere inside was tranquil and very nice while I waited for our order. We ordered chicken and vegetable dishes and each a California roll. Meals were fresh and full of flavor. Sushi was nice and fresh! We will definitely come back especially when the patio over looking the lake is open!

Went here with a group of 5 on a Friday night. We were worried about getting seated, but the place was fairly empty for a weekend evening. Our server was attentive and friendly; he gave us recommendations and steered us away from dishes that he felt were«just ok.» The restaurant serves various types of asian cuisine including, japanese, thai, and chinese. Places like this tend to make me think that they are trying too many things at once and probably doing none of them in a spectacular way. My assumption was proven correct. It was a convenient place for us to go to appease different styles of eaters, but would not be my first choice if I was looking for a great meal. I had the salt and pepper squid appetizer, yellowtail jalapeño sashimi, and a sushi roll. Everything was good, but nothing stood out. I would give this place another shot, but am not dying to return. The outside seating did look beautiful on the water, so the atmosphere probably draws guests in during the warmer season.

I ate here for the first time and I must say I had a wonderful overall experience. First, the location is just breathtaking. Driving around in Wayne, I would not have expected to be driving down a road and have a restaurant overlooking the water. It is almost like a hidden gem if you aren’t from Wayne. The valet staff were so friendly and courteous. They made sure they came around to open all the doors for all the passengers. They were well-groomed and professional. The wait staff were so hospitable, making sure everyone was pleased. We had fried scallops as an appetizer and they were huge and yummy. All the sushi rolls had their own flair to them. There were so many options, I wanted to try more. My friends and I were there for a while and were not rushed out. Definitely coming back to try more!

Update: had lunch on the terrace. On one side, you have oncoming traffic on a major road and a not-so-lovely view of 2 parking lots. On the other side, you have a gorgeous view of the water. Grab a seat facing the right way is tip #1. ;-) They must do very well in the sunny, warm weather. Today was crowded and the two girls working the tables outside were BUSY. Service lacked. Water glass was spotty, ice tea didn’t come until my salad arrived(and overpriced at $ 3.00). Asked for extra napkins and only received one. Had to track down someone to get my check. Little insignificant flaws that added up. Lunch specials were very well-priced and a good variety of options. Definitely something for everybody. Sushi, bento boxes, Chinese and even a little bit of Thai. Perhaps this isn’t their specialty because the pad Thai was pretty tasteless. Squeezed lime and added sauce just to give it some flavor. Noodles were steaming hot how I like it but chicken was room temp at best. Not bad, certainly not amazing. Worth another shot.

Great Asian food with a beautiful view, how could you lose? What sets Double Ahi apart from other Asian bistros are its beautiful view and its classy casual dining room with a real working fireplace. The outdoor area is definitely the place to be on a nice sunny day, the restaurant is positioned perfectly where the river turns so you have an upstream view of the river. The indoor dining area has nice comfortable wide leather seats and a real working wood burning fireplace. They menu has a lot of sushi, a good amount of Chinese, and some Thai. I got gotten sushi a few times from here and it’s really good. On my most recent visit I got the«Sushi N’ Sashimi Dinner» and it was banging; it had twelve nice size pieces of sashimi, five pieces of sushi and California roll. The Chinese food is pretty solid; the wifey had the house Mei Fun which was very tasty. I haven’t tried any of the Thai food yet but I have gotten the Thai iced and this is the second place I’ve seen whipped cream on top, I think it’s catching on. The staff here is really friendly, has a good sense of humor, and is always making sure you’re satisfied with your meal. Whenever we are on our way out, the managers always ask how the food was. There is no other place like this in the area; it’s definitely worth checking out! *This place is BYO so don’t forget to bring a bottle of your favorite wine with ya!
