G & S Preakness Barber Shop

Such an amazing barbershop! Everyone is so amazing, friendly and such a pleasure to be around. I’d recommend this shop to anyone ! My son is usually fussy when it comes to getting a haircut but they always seem to calm him down. Such a great atmosphere ! I’d give it a 100 stars !!

Always get a great haircut from all of the barbers. I usually go to Chris but all of the barbers are great.

What can I say, after moving to Wayne almost a year ago I started coming to this barber shop and getting my haircut done by Chris and Alex. I have never had a single complaint. Very friendly professional shop with that family vibe.

Best barber shop I’ve been to. My mom is a hair stylist, so I grew up with free and great hair cuts my whole life. She moved a few years ago, and I seemed to never find a place that cut my hair as well. Then I found G & S, andChris just gave me a great cut every single time. He listened and asked exact what I wanted, and eventually knew how I wanted my hair. I’ve moved out of Wayne since, and still can’t find anyone as good. Highly recommended, nice people, only $ 17 cut, and well worth it. Tip well! They deserve it!

Alex is the man! He’s super friendly and he cuts extremely well. I’m very picky about my haircuts and he exceeds my expectations. I only wait for him, but I’m sure everyone else is great as well!

I went here because my barber in Nutley that I have been going to for 34 yrs hurt his shoulder three months ago. My hair was getting too long. Did some research and found G&S. Went today waited for my turn I got Chris. He did a great job. He listens very well to what you want. I will NOT be going back to Nutley. This place is a GREAT find. Very happy with service and hair cut. G&S is now my new barber shop.

But Cherie was mad that no reviewer ever called her out by name, and it’s all about Chris Chris Chris (the owner). So here it is: All the five-​star Unilocal!reviews of this place have it right. It has skilled barbers who seem to genuinely enjoy working together, who value their customers, and who take pride in operating a successful local business. Prices are fair, and service is excellent. I’m sure you’ll get great treatment no matter who’s chair you sit in, but Cherie is the only one who’s ever cut my hair at G&S, she’s awesome, and I always leave the shop way more handsome than when I entered. What else do you want, a lollipop? You can probably have one of those at G&S, too. Insider tip: Don’t just stroll in like you own the place. It’s popular, and you’ll usually have wait, especially on a Saturday, so sign in on the clipboard next to the cash register. Put down Cherie’s name, if you know what’s good for you.

We used to take our boys to a large discount chain, we discovered G & S and for just a few dollars more the difference in cut is tremendous. My husband went to a salon called unisex, but mostly women and was never happy. He loves the hot towels and now always loves his cut at G&S. My family has never looked better, price is reasonable, service is great, and we are so happy to have become regulars, will never go anywhere else again!

G & S is the best!!! Great cuts and shaves for a great price. Chris is my man but everybody is good. It gets better every time I go. Complimentary straight shave around the ears and on neck and implemented a waiting list so no more awkward moments declining a barber while waiting for your person. Great business, won’t go anywhere else.

I’ve been getting my haircuts here for a few years now. I go every two weeks and happen to only use Sal. Al of the barbers are great there. There is not a better barbershop within 10 miles. They treat you like family.

This is the one and only barber shop I go to, not just because it’s the closest one to me, it’s just awesome! The atmosphere is chill and everyone is nice. They recently remodeled the store and everything looks modern and still masculine enough to be a barber shop. They got a new nice size flat screen TV to watch while you wait or you can use the standard reading materials.
I see Chris every time I go and he knows how I like my hair cut and he’s extremely personable. He even goes out of his way and shaves your sideburns with a straight razor and even takes care of that unwanted back neck hair. All the barbers there are great! If Chris was on vacation I would have no qualms about seeing any of the other barbers.
The only downside to this barber shop is that it has gained a lot of popularity and, for that it has become very busy, especially on the weekends but it’s very worth the wait. Once in a while I’ve had no wait at all, but that’s just timing To avoid some of the wait, it’s best to go midweek.
This is a cash only business so make sure you bring some with you.

This is by far the best barber shop I have been to in North Jersey. I have relocated to Philadelphia, but I will always come home to get my hair cuts here. Chris is my barber and he will give you the perfect hair cut. He will take requests and will give you exactly what you want, especially if you have some visual representation of the hair cut you have in mind. Chris straightens everything out and cuts everything evenly. This is great because if you cut your hair short, it will grow out evenly so you don t have to go back and get touch ups. I highly recommend this shop!
