I don’t know why this place is underrated. Great food. It’s a bit expensive though. We love their chicken wings with buffalo garlic sauce.

Okay so I was here for a private party. I wish I could say things went well but it was just bad. Upon arrival the bar was quiet, surprising for a cinco de mayo. We were seated in the back and we had a buffet setup. The buffet consisted of a salad, roast beef, ziti, green beans and mashed potatoes. While it was a nice set up, the food was just okay. They started with bruschetta and cheesesteak egg rolls. The egg rolls were good but were cold. The roast beef was very good and the rolls were fresh. The green beans were nothing special and the ziti was flat out bad. Now for the bartender, or lack there of. I literally stood at the bar for 10 minutes waiting to order. The bartender finally came up and I ordered but they didn’t have what we wanted, or he just didn’t know how to make it. He was so monotone, no expressions what so ever. The server/runner was very helpful, he helped out anyway he coils. He was a good dude. The area where the party was wasn’t closed off, people from the bar kept coming in to use the restroom. Two people actually sat down and had to be asked to get up. I hate to give this place a bad review but I feel obligated to do so. 1 star all day.

This only people who choose to eat here are those who can’t get in to Great American Pub or Christophers. Place is depressing to say the least. Manager on duty Saturday night looked like he would rather be somewhere else and was nasty to the patrons. Go someplace else! Cant believe this place will be open much longer.

Unfortunately, you have to give at least one star to leave a review. This place should close and let a place move in that offers good food, good service, and a good deal. There is a reason this place has few patrons while all others are packed… Take the hint and go elsewhere.

The absolute worst. Food, service, atmosphere. Im 1 of 10 people here and waiting for a drink for 20 minutes. Food reminded me of college/prison and there is no music/game audio etc. so pretty awkward. Not my first time here either and all experiences equally as terrible.

Solid place to go for happy hour. Takes a little while to get drink. But overall nice atmosphere for a game or live music. Bells two hearted are poured in a small glass which i have never seen anywhere else feels like their nickel and diming me. Sub par draft selection. The food does not even deserve to be commented on because it is that bad. Maybe not the chefs fault but bad products to be serving to people. 18 – 22 year olds would love it so put i near Nova.

I was really dissapointed with this bar. I brought my bachelorette party here this past weekend. I waited 20 minutes before being served at the bar. The two bartenders only focused on the middle of the bar(I was closer to the end). There was one bartender who was very rude and unprofessional. Drinks were weak, bartenders were rude. If my sister(the bride) wasnt having such a good time, surrounded by friends, I would have taken my party of 15 women right out of there. I requested a popular fun song twice by the dj and he wouldnt play it. I will not come back here.

This place is awesome! Love it! Great bar! Perfect place to watch any sport. The food is very good! I had the Temple Owl Sandwich. It was amazing! They have a great happy hour selection too! Great bar atmosphere and bar food!

Worst bar/lounge I’ve ever been too. Service was atrocious. Took the waitress 30 minutes to get our beers and then brought the wrong ones. It was NOT busy. She said it was taking a while because the bar tender had to change the keg. Well she brought us bottles, no need to change a keg, and never told us what happened. I asked for waters while we waited, which were never brought out. Drinks sat empty on the table for a while, some of us walked to the bar to get additional drinks, which was not a problem. If you want to get a drink here, that’s fine, just sit at the bar. However, if you want food look somewhere else. I typically don’t write reviews, but this was so bad that I felt obligated to let other people know not to order food here.

First time here… my wife got the pulled pork which kind of had a strange taste but wasnt bad. However the sesame chicken bites are excellent but their sauce selection is a bit disappointing. Would have liked a honey bbq or terayaki. Their menu is cool… some really interesting items and something for everyone. Onion rings are fantastic. Price is reasonable and cool place to watch a game. Definitely other things I want to try and overall its a cool place and I will go back to try other things.

Went here one week day after work with a few friends to have a beer and light dinner… and had a great experience! The bar was crowded, but the dining room was comfortably quiet. The waiter and bar tender were accommodating, and the food was, really, not bad. Had several of the appetizers and fish and chips. The wings were great — not over cooked as they often are… almost everywhere. It was a comfortable pub atmosphere with not bad food at reasonable prices… exactly what we were looking for when we got off work! We’re going back!

My husband and I tried to go today. July 4th to the Wayne location before going to a movie. There was NOSIGN on the door and they were CLOSED! So I called one of the other locations and they said they would be opening at 3. it was 2:50 at the time so we decided to wait. well at 3:10 it still wasn’t open! Shame on them. how hard is it to put up a sign or put it on their answering machine. All other businesses that decided not to open today put a sign on the door. Then to be told it would be opening and waiting and they didn’t. I won’t be back.

I was here with my wife several months ago and the food was okay but the service was less than perfect. A lot less. But I let it go because everyone has an off day. Today however I tried to visit again because we were going to a movie around the corner and they were closed during normal business hours. Now I understand that it is a holiday and if they choose to close that is fine. But please at least put a sign on the door or perhaps a message on the answering machine. We even called another location and they contacted the manager who said they would open at 3 but as of 3:10 they were still closed. We will NEVER return. There are a lot of places that would be happy to take our money. Very bad customer service.

Hands down the best American restaurant on the main line. Their catering options are absolutely delicious. Extremely affordable. Most importantly, a friendly and hard working staff to ensure a great time. Cannot wait to enjoy it again. — Villanova Lacrosse

Living just down the road, I’ve been to McGillicuddy’s a few times since it’s opened– some of those visits have been ok, and others have been not-so-ok. My favorite times at McGillicuddy’s have been on cold, winter late afternoons(on the weekend) where I’ll grab a few beers and the sesame wing«bites» with rasta sauce at the bar. Some of my least favorite times have been Friday and Saturday nights when they’re overrun with Eastern and Cabrini kids and blasting horrible music from a DJ booth. I do not recommend McGillicuddy’s for a full blown meal. As far as food goes I would not venture much past the wings and some of the appetizers. Sandwiches are hit or miss; the rest of the menu I would say is mostly a miss. The sesame chicken bites(basically boneless wings) are very good. I tried the cheesesteak sliders recently where were also better-than-ok(although not exactly what I was expecting). I did try their Sunday brunch once about a year ago. It featured some standard breakfast foods but was surprisingly good. For a cheap brunch in the area, it’s not a bad choice. Draught list is ok. They have a decent(maybe 7 or so) selection of local craft beers that seem to rotate fairly frequently, plus some additional local beers in cans and bottles(and of course the standard yeungling/bud-miller-coors light/etc. offerings). Like the menu, service is inconsistent. At the bar it is usually ok(bar tenders are typically friendly but during slower periods seem to be responsible not only for the bar but any tables scattered across the restaurant, which can spread them pretty thin). The few times I’ve made the mistake of sitting down for dinner at a table here, service has been horrendous. There is an ever-present bleach/cleaning solution smell familiar to dive bars that is not very appetizing. Does McGillicuddy’s intend to be a dive bar? I don’t know. But it does serve a slightly-divey niche on N Wayne Ave that the others do not. If you’re looking for top notch beer then head over to Theresa’s Next Door. But if you just want to grab a bud light and catch a basketball or football game(without the screaming kids common during the afternoon and early evening at Christopher’s) McGillicuddy’s might be an ok choice. I’m between a two– and three-star rating, but a few really bad visits have overshadowed the other mediocre ones pulling McGillicuddy’s down to a 2 in my book. I still stop in from time to time but I can’t say I’d exactly be very sad(or surprised) to see this location gone in the future.

If you are trying to get an actual drink avoid the male bartender with the scruffy beard. You will get club soda with a splash of vodka. He basically barely tipped the bottle and filled it up with sofa and ice. When we complained about the drink instead of giving a little more vodka he dumped out the first drinks and proceeded to pour an even worse drink. All with a terrible attitude. We ended up finishing our golden tee and took our $ 100 bar tab to the Pub down the street where we got great drinks and service and the good bartender at that establishment got a 25% tip

This place is brutal! Dead vibe, the staff breaks they’re neck’s for a weak tip, the bartenders are on there phone till you say something and act as if the customer is being a nuisance… But wait! It gets even better! The wait staff is even worse. I made the mistake of going in there for there microwave Hormel blah whatchaMcCarcus! After an hour I had to go into the kitchen to find my most useless waitress ever to wrap this awful experience up! I’ve been to other Cuddy’s and they’re fine! This place is possum vomit, brake dust, and straight gutter juice! The manager should be ashamed! I’m being kind too and didn’t bring the edge with describing this foul dump!

One word perfectly describes this place: mediocre. Their fries look and taste like Ore Ida crinkle cut fries. The same ones you find at the grocery store. I had the Matty wings which are supposed to be like a honey BBQ. They totally skimped on the sauce. Then their«bleu cheese» dressing was like Ranch dressing with chunks of bleu cheese in it. Bar food fail. If you’re looking to get drunk, they have great happy hour prices. If you’re looking for a good meal, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
