Makeup luxe? More like makeup sucks!
I left my trial penniless looking like I just had cake smashed in my face.

Sucks this app makes me have to give even one star to submit my review… one star is over the top!
Kristin Paladino is by far the most unprofessional specimen I have ever dealt with. She performed her hail trial at her home which is completely illegal to begin with. But what really bewildered me is the fact that she did my hair trial at 2:00 in the afternoon while still in her pajamas, unshowered and barefoot and did my makeup while scarfing down chilli. Not sure if a state inspector would say these business conditions are up to par. It was a really bizarre experience.
Although I felt her services were pricey and mediocre at best, I still tipped her and her colleague very generously in cash.
A few months later, my fiancé’ ended up getting cold feet and canceling our wedding one month prior and I was also 3 months pregnant at the time leaving me in a financial and emotional burden. Completely devastated and heartbroken, I decided to make an announcement on Facebook letting my family and friends know the wedding was off. Literally minutes later, Kristin called me on my cell phone, like a parasitic psycho, to remind me of contract obligations. I was still inconsolable and barley able to speak at the moment of her untimely phone call. Every single one of my vendors had the human decency to cut me some sort of break but Kristin not only didn’t offer any breaks, she instead tried to screw me into paying her gratuity which was never worded in the contract and even threatened to take legal action against me 2 weeks prior to the money being due. She harassed me by email multiple times a week until I sent her her check. I have never made any indication that I would not hold up to my end of the contract for her to harass me in the manner that she did. Be very careful upon signing a contract with her because her contract is typed in a very half assed manner and she will try to use her stupidity to try to get one over on you. She is a greedy heartless person who only cares about herself, and chilli, apparently.

I was given Kristin & Makeup Luxe’s name by a friend who had also used them for their «day of» beauty regimen for their wedding, and am so I glad I called her! From the very beginning of the process, the consult, through the trial run and finally the big day, Kristin and her team went out of their way to not only make me beautiful but to make my day extra-​special! I had Kristin (a true artist!) handle my makeup and Noelle (a miracle worker!) take care of the hair, and I was in disbelief at how amazing they made me look. I truly felt like the belle of the ball!
They were very professional, having no problem accommodating the specific wants/​needs of my entire bridal party and even my diva mother!!! They helped me put together a day of schedule with timing, and basically took care of all the little details so I didn’t have to worry in the least. And I truly feel they went above & beyond, joining in the laughter & having fun with us, and keeping the mood light during a somewhat stressful time! I consider both Kristin & Noelle friends now, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asked, as well as use them again in a heartbeat the next time I need to look magical at a special event! And Kristen is GREAT at math! (sorry inside joke. I just had to!)

I interacted with make up luxe via e-​mails because I was an out of town bride. I exchanged multiple e-​mails with Kristin Paladino who agreed to do my trial make up and my make up on my wedding day. I saw her 3 days prior my wedding day for a trial. She was pleasant, I did not really like the way how she did my make up and the color she chose for my foundation. I have told her so and she was willing to accommodate my requests. After all that is why we need a trial. I was charged $$ for the trial based on our agreement.
I should clarify that the reason there was no contract is because it was at the request of the vendor (and not me). I in fact did use her service because I used and paid for a trial session. As for not using her for my wedding, if a vendor tries to change her price at the last minute and threatens me to accept her new terms because there was no contract, why would I trust her to work at my wedding? It is unscrupulous of a vendor to advise against a contract.
The vendor keeps insisting in her emails her prices were based on multiple people requiring services. This is a false statement because in every exchange I had with her I clearly tell her that I would be only one requiring service. At no point did I promise her any other service would be required. At the trial on Wednesday before the wedding, I directly asked her how much I should prepare for her fee on the wedding day, and she said $ 150 cash. At the trial was when she should have told me if she has a minimum fee of $ 200 to travel to the wedding location, not on Friday evening before my wedding on Saturday. I don’t have a problem with her pricing; I have a problem with her not communicating her prices clearly until I had very few options the night before my wedding. In contrast, other vendors I contacted for makeup were very clear and upfront in their pricing for one person versus multiple people and their minimum fees.
Kristin Paladino you were unprofessional, unscrupulous, unclear about your prices, disorganized, unethical and misleading. You lost my business and I hope you lose more.
