Came here with a group of 12 on 06÷18÷16. We ordered the following food: Calamari: not sure how they call this calamari. The look and texture was strange. Sirloin sliders: comes with 3. When the order came my friend didn’t know that was his order Cuz the meat didn’t look like sirloin. Out of 12 men, only 2 were eaten. No one even wanted the 3rd little slider. Sizzling fajitas: this was actually good. Nachos: decent but could be better. Burger: just ok As for the drinks, one of my friends had a huge crack in his beer glass. Absolutely horrible and dangerous. They didn’t even give him a free drink! The service is extremely slow and it’s probably because they are under staffed. Not enough wait staff at all. One positive is they have a ton of huge screen Tv’s to watch multiple sporting events. If you come here to watch sports and have a few drinks, this can your place. Considering all the horrible reviews, subpar food and Service…the place was still packed by 11pm. That’s why nothing will change.

I went/called 4 different places in regards to having my fiancé’s surprise 30th bday party. All hope was lost until I went out to Mother’s Ale House one night. I never realized how great the space was downstairs. A few days later called Mother’s to inquire availability. The staff were very sweet and made a professional impression over the phone. I spoke to Annette who was knowledgeable, sweet, patient and used a strong tone when expressing her interests in meeting me where I was at. Over the course of 3 months, Annette stayed in touch with me to discuss party packages and menu options. I told her my budget and she respected it with her honesty and professionalism. The day of the party I arrived around noon to set up for a 7pm party. The staff were extremely helpful and Joe was very responsive to my needs. I ended up returning more than half of my decorations bc the space was so refreshing that I didn’t want to ruin the feel. I finished up around 4 and arrived back at 630pm. At that time I noticed the serving trays and bar were all set up. I noticed that they arranged my collage pieces creatively. I was so pleased to see their attention to detail. I met the lovely Annette and she was beautiful inside and out. It was such a pleasure working with her and her staff. They made sure we had everything we needed at all times. They even helped carry stuff out to the car at the end of the night. My fiancé was surprised and everyone had a blast! Cheers to 30 years and to Mother’s Ale House!

The place is huge. Service was very good; quick and friendly. The food was good, with some interesting selections. There are tons of TVs. We were there as a couple, and we’ll be back, but I’d like to try Mother’s as a group of maybe 10 or 12. Very handicapped friendly.

As promised I will update the review after waiting a significant amount of time. It appears the original problem with back of the house still exist. The restaurant was virtually empty – at 12:30 probably a sign of what’s to come. A colleague and I opted for the mozzarella bites as an app. It was tasty. But cold. Not sure if it was sitting on the pass for too long or not. It didn’t taste raw. Just not hot. For the meal we both had burgers. Like last time it took an extraordinary amount of time to arrive with no status updates to let us know what’s taking so long. The burgers were tasty and hot but I feel it wasn’t worth the price nor the wait. The utensils were still wet and smelled odd. I am a big believer in the three strikes system and I am afraid despite this being strike two I will consider it a double play in my poorly thought out metaphor. I will not return.

So I stopped by Mother’s on the way back from a golf outing the other day. I can’t believe this place has changed so much! It’s really nice inside with a tremendously long bar featuring just about any craft beer you can imagine. The bartender was so nice and fun to interact with. Both myself and 2 buddies laughed until our faces hurt. I had a cheeseburger which was awesome! I would definitely come back!

3.5 stars. The atmosphere here is pretty laid back and they have a nice selection of beers on tap. You shouldn’t have a hard time finding something you like. Food is decent. Certainly a place id like to come back to on one of their busy nights to see what the crowd is like. I think you should stop in, have a drink and bite. Most important of all, don’t forget to ENJOY!!!

Third time at Mothers, second time eating. Read below and I’ll let you decide for yourself: Wings were cooked well done without much meat on the bones. My Western Burger was average at best. Took almost 45 minutes on a quiet night for the food to arrive at the table. The staff was unable to tell what wrap was what and the waitress wasn’t able to take any of our orders correctly. My burger came with fries when I asked for chips, a friend was given the incorrect wrap(and did not realize it until a few bites were taken), a third order came as a wrap when it was requested to be on garlic bread and the forth order was a french dip and it was said to be so salty he wasn’t able to enjoy it. The bar did not have Crown Royal, or any Grey Goose. I also noticed one of the weirdest things ever, the bartender was stirring our beer with a straw before bringing it to the table?! I asked about it and it was said to add more«head» to the top. Unbelievable. Then the waitress apologized for the wait and issues with the food etc and offers a round of beers on the house — comes back with the wrong one that I’d been drinking all night. Keep in mind there were about three tables occupied the whole time we were there. Not once did a manager come up to us discuss anything. There is a reason this place has 2.5 stars with over 100 ratings submitted.

Came with some friends to watch the IU/UK game tonight. Food was good and waitstaff was great. The game got turned off before half time(on instead were Knicks highlights, a Two Broke Girls rerun, and warm-ups for the Little Rock game). When multiple parties asked to get the game back, the staff seemed scared to ask the manager. We asked to speak to the manager ourselves so they wouldn’t have to get yelled at for us. He(Buddy, I think) came out and yelled at everyone who wanted the game back and told us it was the networks who switched, not him(it wasn’t – the tv went from CBS to TNT and TBS, not just switching games). After being yelled at by the manager and seeing that the staff was kind of scared of him, we got our check and left. We’ve been in before and have had good experiences, but we won’t be back after this, at least not as long as that manager is there.

I paid $ 65 to burp and fart all night… I’ve been trying to checkout this place for quite some time now since I pass it on my way to work everyday. My girlfriend and I finally had the opportunity to pay a visit there last night. All we wanted was a relaxing/stress free dinner and drinks. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way. The food was bland and they charged me $ 13.50 for a margarita– that made me upset because they added an extra shot($ 5) without my authorization… which was hard to believe because it was possibly the worst margarita I’ve ever had. It tasted like cheap margarita mix with a splash of tonic water. I’m not usually one to complain unless I feel like something is unfair … Which being unsatisfied and overcharged is very unfair to me. The waitress did nothing when I explained the situation. As if this wasn’t bad enough, both of our stomachs were very upset all night. Needless to say, we will never return to this place.

This isn’t necessarily the first place I’d come to for food and a drink, but I do have to say that their dinners are pretty good and menu selection is better than that of other sports bars in the area. If you’re trying the place out for the frist time, I’d say come on a trivia night with some friends — it’s a fun time. Negatives: — Pretty pricey — TVs are WAYYYYY too loud during football season. I’m a fan and have come to watch games, but have wound up leaving because the blown out speakers were giving me headaches. — Servers were always very pleasant but hostesses… not so much.

not much to touch on that others haven’t already brought up. decent amount of beers on tap, TV’s for days, and a really nice bar set up so that no matter where u sit at the bar you can watch between 3 to 5 games at a time. The food was ok, nothing to write home about, but this seems like a place you go to and get annihilated while you watch the game, so I doubt you will really care that much about five star dishes. Overall this is def a place I would go to on a football Sunday to guzzle beers and snack on some chips and guac.

One thing I find very interesting is that the owner only responds to «positive» comments. With all the poor ratings and comments I did not see one response from the owner. That’s very telling. One customer found glass in his drink!!! That is very serious and tells me that basic bar fundamentals/health code rules are being ignored! Guarantee you see the bar taking ice out of ice storage using drinking glasses! That is against code. You must use a metal ice scoop, not the drink glass. This is BASIC stuff. Wonder what’s going on in the kitchen.

This is my 4th(and final) visit since it opened and the place just keeps getting worse each time. I just left actually. Had lunch with my sons. One chicken sandwich and two kids meals… no way they could screw that up, right? Wrong. My sandwich was dropped off first with no comment on my kids’ meals. After 15 minutes I flagged down the waiter to ask about it. He was very young and inattentive… and obviously clueless by his«the kitchen is very backed up» excuse before walking away quickly. I looked around at the other THREE occupied tables in the whole place and said are you kidding? 3 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon and the place(like most at that time) is DEAD. Of course he kept walking without acknowledging me. The woman at the next table saw what was going on and even made a comment about his lame excuse. Kids meals came out five minutes later and by then my sandwich was cold so I made him take it back for a new one. Then there was glass in my drink which I luckily caught before swallowing. I mentioned to him and he had the same unconcerned demeanor. I agree with many of the other reviews that the service is terrible. I saw several servers and bartenders goofing off instead of checking on their customers. I was a bartender for years and never once served a drink with glass in it. I would have been horrified, and extremely apologetic if I did. I understand accidents happen but it’s how you handle them that counts. At the VERY least I would not have charged for the drink. I’m hoping this young server was simply inexperienced and simply didn’t know better. It would be much worse if the manager was aware of what happened and still made him charge me for it. Either way I was charged and that doesn’t sit well with me. As I said, this is my fourth visit since it opened and the same sink in the men’s room(out of two) is still broken. They actually duct taped the entire thing rather than bothering to fix. It’s been like that since the summer… along with the same plunger and pipe wrench lying on the ground as well. That alone speaks volumes about management. And what’s with the intermittent vibration every 5 minutes that shakes the tables so badly that the glasses and dishes chatter? Unless you just want a beer or two at the bar, I suggest you find someplace else for a meal. MUCH better options around.

Not a fan of this place. To start, the menu is really limited and feels very boring, you’ll find yourself«building» your own burger. The space itself is entirely too loud due to the high ceiling and amped up music. The hardwood floors do nothing to soften the giant speakers they typically have on. I don’t like how you walk past the service door to the kitchen coming in and going out. I know it’s dumb, but seeing where the food comes from can be a turn off and it also creates a stressful flow of traffic when someone with a tray comes out. The bartender that served us I didn’t really appreciate. He was arrogant and obnoxious and threw my credit card back to me onto his wet bar he just wiped. Politely handing it back to me would have been preferred, he wasn’t even busy.

I’ve been here multiple times, bar only. Service has been atrocious every time. Multiple bartenders, all working diligently but none appearing to service people at the bar. They’re mostly running around cleaning, reorganizing the bar, typing stuff into the PC, filling drink orders for diners at tables, etc. I think the problem is much more noticeable due to the fact there may be times where more than 5 bartenders are behind the bar, and myself and friends are sitting there with empty glasses for more than just a few minutes. Won’t be back by choice, but co-workers/friends may choose the venue. Hopefully by then management takes a look at the reviews. Lots of reviews on here mentioning the same grievances. These problems should really be addressed.

Maybe I’m over the«brand new bar» hype, but I can see many, many flaws with this place, now. I hadn’t been here in a few months so my wife and I stopped in for lunch this past Saturday. As I walk in, we sat ourselves at the bar. The bar tender asks us «are you sure you guys want to sit here or would you like to sit somewhere else!» I thought that was a strange question to be asking. I looked around and said that I was happy where we were. I ask for the beer list and she hands me this sticky plastic table holder with the beer list. They previously list was a full sheet of paper, was a more detailed list, and was a lot easier to read; not sure why they switched to this format. The beer list had many errors and was mainly Macrobrews; just a handful of smaller breweries. I could think of a least five bars in a 7 mile radius that have a much better beer selection. Maybe they shouldn’t call themselves an Alehouse? We ordered our food, which happen to be very good. They roast beef broccoli rabe sandwich was really tasty. They only thing I thought was strange was that the bar tender asked us three times if everything was okay and she said«are you sure nothing’s wrong?» Was something suppose to be wrong? I think it all comes down to staffing. I think they need more energetic happy people working at the bar and a bar manager(or hire a beer manager/bar tender) who is more knowledgable about craft beer. It’s a beautiful place, but it’s just not that great.

This review is purely on the nightlife because we did not eat here. We came here Friday night of 4th of July weekend. It was PACKED!!! Luckily they have a lot of parking in the area bc there were a lot of people there. My sister and I grabbed a booth, and then we went to the bar to grab drinks. The one downfall was that it took forever to get a drink b/c they had so many people at the bar and not enough bartenders. I’m sure that with time this place will die down a bit. Prices were average. Mixed drinks were about $ 7. They did have a decent selection of beer. Theres lot of tvs everywhere so I have a feeling this will be a great place to come in the fall to watch some football!

Mother’s Ale House finally opened this week on the site of the ancient Gabriel’s restaurant/bar after two months of teasing us with their giant sign — and it was worth the wait! This area desperately needed a large-scale, proper sports bars with good tunes and good food. The Chimi Churi Skirt Steak I ate during their soft opening first night was solid, as was the tasty Artichoke Dip. The«Valley» cheesesteak my friend had on their first official opening night was equally good. The menu has plenty of options to please most. Someone spent some serious money here — great sound system, massive round bar, 100’s of TV’s, and a huge beer menu, along with the usual premium liquor selection. The bartenders & security seem to have been trained to be courteous and engaging — even if they did seem a little overwhelmed on these first two nights. Only negatives are the small parking lot and if you don’t know where to get off Rt. 23 in advance, you’ll drive past it by the time you see their enormous sign. That said, Mother’s has been open 2 nights and I’ve been here 2 nights. It will be one of my go-to spots. ‘Nuff Said!
