I had a bacon cheeseburger which had a generous amount of bacon and a thick slice of onion on it. It was delicious and cooked properly. The large order of French fries was also a large helping. My only complaint was there was a $ 1.00 charge for soda refills. I cannot remember back far enough when I had to pay for a refill. I give only 3 stars because of this. I will return but I will drink water instead of soda . Nothing fancy but the pricing was very good.

Every time I come to visit my parents, I know we’re coming here one of the mornings… and I do not mind at all. This place is somewhere between a diner and a hole in the wall. If we’re being honest, no one is going to BCL because of the ambience and hipsters aren’t going to like it. It’s dingy and looks like the last update was in the 70’s. If you can set your mind straight, you’re gonna have a good time. Service Always friendly staff. I feel like the staff here would sit down and listen to your problems if you were so inclined. They don’t ever feel rushed nor do they ever make you feel less important than the lifetime regulars. Good people that give good service. They ALWAYS keep my coffee full! Food I only have been here for breakfast. Every time I come though, it’s good Southern cookin’. I have settled on the chicken biscuit with home fries. Both are crispy, the biscuit is soft and delicious. Coffee is at the low end of bold(I like that). I have also had a burger from there — and it was everything I wanted it to be. The Bottom Line People are too critical. You have to take a place fro what it is. BCL definitely scratches an itch that i frequently have gastronomically. It isn’t too greasy, but even if it were, it’d still satisfy the jonesin’ that I get for Southern classics.

Meeting a friend there in the morning for breakfast. I like the atmosphere there and it’s a great place to eat and chat. VERYINEXPENSIVE for what you get.

Meh. Cheap but just plain awful. Worst grits I’ve ever had(microwaved and bland). Subpar biscuits and gravy.

The atmosphere is plain with a few pictures hanging on the painted center block wall, dirty air conditioner built in the wall. The chairs were worn and dirty. The bathroom was difficult to find, since the sign was hidden behind a refrigerator. The bathroom was filthy. The soap dispenser was dirty. Ok, about the food. I ordered a fish sandwich that was supposed to be served with home fries. Another party at the table ordered a BLT that was supposed to be served with potato chips. He asked for home fries, instead, and toasted bread. He got home fries, and a BLT on bread. I was served a fish on toasted bun(did NOT want toasted) and potato chips. We were charged $ 1.80 extra for the fries. When he ordered the home fries, he was never informed of an extra charge for the fries. The fish was goopy, and soggy in the center. I couldn’t finish the meal. Would I return to that store? Nope.

A good alternative to nearby Weasie’s Kitchen for diner food. It’s a little hard to find, but not far off Broad St or Delphine Ave. Open for dinner on Friday nights, and for breakfast and lunch Mon-Sat. Lunch specials each day. Friendly and fast service. Good value.

This place is the real deal: greasy spoon, short-order, diner/grill, down-home, etc. Grab a cheap breakfast or check out the lunch special, which will be something like«pork chop, mashed potatos, gravy, green beans, and iced tea» for about $ 6.

Dirt cheap tasty diner food in a divey part of town. They only do breakfast and lunch, but they do it right. If you want a locals place, this is it.
