The one in Fishersville is wayyyyyy better, in terms of food, margaritas, service, and atmosphere. Very much worth the slightly longer drive to me and my family.

My husband and I are in the process of moving to Waynesboro and stopped in here after a long day of moving. We were delighted by the quality and quantity of food and the very good service. First of all, the chips were very good; they did not taste stale or greasy. The homemade salsa was fantastic! Very flavorful and a bit«hot». I had the Mi Rancho Special and my husband had the chicken fajitas. Though the fajita sauce looked kind of like the sauce you find in Chinese chicken dishes, both meals tasted great and were very filling. We will definitely become regulars after our move is complete.

Great Mexican place! We visited at lunchtime on a Sunday. We had chicken fajitas and chicken mole. The service was great and the food was good! We will definitely be back!

We were just in town for one night from southern Oklahoma and wanted to try something non chain and local. We eat a LOT of Mexican at home and while traveling and this is one of the good ones. Friendly, fast service with decent prices and excellent food. We had the frozen margarita, steak fajitas and shrimp(soft) chimi. Everything was made fast, right and hot. My husband loved the salsa, but I preferred the special hot stuff. If we lived closer we would be regulars!

This is our favorite place to go for Mexican food. Been to others and they don’t compare in my opinion. Love the homemade salsa, made fresh daily. The specials are really great and the portions are enough for your meal and leftovers for lunch the next day. I especially love the margaritas. Great price, you can basically get two for one in Mon & Wed nights. The family that runs this restaurant are very nice too. Been going here for about 8 years now. You’ve got to try it.

Fantastic Unilocal find! Mi Rancho was great! The freshly made salsa and guacamole was just the beginning of a delicious meal. Generous portions and prices that won’t break the budget. If you’re local you should try it out, hands down better than any chain. And if you’re traveling through the region, plug this address in to your GPS, you won’t be disappointed.

Found while passing thru. Food was great. Service was attentive. Prices were cheap. They even had a special on the lunch special that put most entrees at $ 4.25. I would definitely come back again!

Our favorite local Mexican place. Food is consistent and I highly recommend the Quesadilla Jalisco and Mi Rancho.

Best Mexican food in Waynesboro, hands down. Juan and Ana are great people and the food is outstanding! I recommend the Burrito Degalado and the Quesadilla Jalisco, everything else is equally as delicious. Have some Gaucamole, black bean quesadilla, or chicken taco salad with black beans and cheese. The chili verde, chili rellanos and carnitas, are good as well. Wednesday night is margarita night!

It’s your standard Mexican. Food is as expected, service was good. Salsa and fajitas were good. No baby changing station.

First, to all of you«not authentic Mexican food» snobs, check the zip code. Mi Rancho is not in Mexico City. It’s in Waynesboro. So, lower your expectations from the exquisite Chipotle Lime Fish Tacos you had while lying on the beach at Cancun. Mi Rancho is what it is: a locally-owned and operated(by a wonderful family) restaurant that serves quite good American-Mexican dishes with very good service for a very reasonable price. Their salsa is homemade — and sometimes pretty spicy. The portions of their entrees are large enough for tonight’s dinner and tomorrow’s lunch and are made from fresh and tasty ingredients. This is not — as is their competition in town — open up a can and plop it on the plate. This is made to order good food. The Margaritas are decent and very reasonably priced. They have a decent selection of beers. And the place is, as other reviewers have mentioned, very clean and quite pleasant. We’ve eaten at the other Mexican places in town but keep coming back to Mi Rancho because we think it is far superior to all the rest. It has become our de facto place to meet and eat. Our kids love it. Our grandkids love it. Our friends love it. Give it a try.

Blown away by the good reviews here, I gave this place a shot a while back because it’s so close to me, had a horrible experience but someone told me it was better now so I went back, the portions are small, the food tastes like it all had been soaked in sea water, and the service was not only bad, it was practically non existent… anyone who says this is even remotely close to being as good as El Puertos needs to put their bicycle helmet back on and only use forks with a cork on the end so they don’t kill themselves while eating this terrible food.

As others have noted, don’t let the outside fool you. Situated next to a tire center, Mi Rancho has the appearance of somewhere you may want to avoid. BUT once inside you’ll find an amazingly clean restaurant serving decent Mexican food. There are no tortilla chip crumbs on the floor; the tables are not sticky; the windows are clean; and the floor spotless. That, alone, is worth the price of admission.!! As for the food, well, it’s not amazing, California/Arizona/New Mexico/Texas quality but it’s pretty darn good. The ground beef is fresh, not that precooked gray looking stuff. They don’t go overboard on the cheese either. The enchilada sauce is mild but still flavorful. Had tacos, enchiladas and a rellano to share and it was all very good. Oh and the Margaritas are decent as well. Not overly sweet and a kick of tequila. Chips were warm and plentiful and the salsa not overly spicy but still with a bite. Service was great. Very attentive and friendly. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food and the quality. Mi Ranch is, by far, the best Mexican restaurant in Waynesboro, Staunton and Charlottesville. I’m a fan and plan to return regularly.!!

If you I have a craving for good old fashioned Americanized Mexican food this is a REALLY good place. The owners and staff are SUPER nice & the food is appropriately priced. The best thing of all is that it’s clean.

Please ignore those who complain that this is not authentic Mexican food and head straight to Mi Rancho. It is FAR better than Waynesboro’s other Mexican places. Freshly made salsa every night, excellent regular dishes, pretty decent Margaritas at a great price, and creative specials. Plus, the service is very quick and attentive. Really nice staff. We’ve become regulars here and look forward to every visit.

Mi Rancho may not be the most authentic looking Mexican restaurant, but they have great food, great salsa(a bit spicy!), and great Margaritas(Margarita night on Wednesdays!)
