Okay. So maybe it’s hard to love a dental practice, but let me be the first to say, I adore the pros who labor in Dr. Tatum’s office. I found the office because it’s near another office I frequent in Stoneridge. So one day I wandered in and asked if they were accepting new patients. I was greeted warmly by Mary. I told her I was thinking of changing dentists because my old one greeted me with sticker shock. Mary explained that she would always look into the cost of any procedure beforehand, which is something I think any practice should do, unless your way flush with cash(I ain’t). I was given some paperwork to fill out for my first visit(scheduled a week later), and received an email contact, as promised, prior to my appointment. I dropped back in, gave Mary my paperwork, she set up the chart and 5 minutes later I was greeted by Donna, who I thought was Dr. Tatum at first. Nothing that she did in the ensuing hour would have convinced me otherwise, had I not looked at the name on the tunic. This lady looked at my teeth and started calling out occlusions and numbers like she was reading a stock market ticker. Prior to doing the cleaning, she invited Mary back in again, because I needed the Super Service(my name, not theirs) because I’ve had periodontal problems before. Mary gave me the quote, I gave Donna the thumbs up and then the cleaning commenced. Donna did excellent, thorough, detailed work and from start to finish showed genuine concern for my comfort. She also had a good sense of humor(which is needed when you’re dribbling). When Donna finished, Dr. Tatum came in for a look after reviewing the bite wings. She was intelligent, congenial, professional and REAL. These are things I seek in any medical practitioner since they’re really a partner in your health, rather than responsible for maintaining it. My daughter has her appointment in the next two weeks. Needless to say, I believe I found a great family dentist. I recommend Dr. Tatum and her practice to anyone who is looking or looking to change. Their office is not terribly hard to find.
