Under the Roof

We were searching online for furniture ideas and found a really nice store called Under The Roof. They had a really nice selection of furniture and we settled on a beautiful Italian sofa. Having never purchased furniture online before we were a little concerned but the people at Under The Roof walked us through the process and helped with selection (they even recommended a certain type of leather that would be more kid friendly and we are glad we went with the recommendation). The furniture arrived on schedule. The people were super helpful. The furniture is great. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. We would definitely recommend this store and will purchase again from here.

This Charlottesville-​transplant seems to cater to the interior decorator crowd (odd business hours/​days), but, if you can get in while they are open, they have beautiful furniture. Yes, their prices are much higher than you would expect from Waynesboro, but the lines they carry are comparably priced to anywhere else.
The staff are friendly, but «take the hint» and leave you alone if you do not want their help.
Delivery was quick, painless, and efficient.

After finding furniture that I really liked online, I called the store to check about availability and delivery time. The woman I spoke to on the phone was friendly and helpful. I placed the order online, and connected with the woman over the phone to talk about delivery from Virginia to Boston. In less than a week, I received the furniture via UPS freight. Everything was delivered on a wooden pallet, tightly shrink-​wrapped. When I got everything unboxed, it was perfect. The furniture was well protected and survived getting to my destination on the truck without a single scratch. The furniture was easy to assemble on my own. It is refreshing to be able to order furniture without any fuss regarding delivery or missing parts. Highly recommended!

Don’t be fooled by 5 star reviews, they probably are written by themselves, those reviews made me order sofa from them but I regret ever dealing with them, After placing the order and paying 50% down payment of over $ 1000.00, I was given 6 to 8 weeks delivery timeframe. after 8 weeks not only I didn’t have my sofa but I also didn’t have any update on my order so I finally decided to give them a call, only to be told that company that should have made my sofa EQ3, was out of the fabric I chose and they were expecting it sometime in next few days and if I still wanted the sofa I would have to wait another 6 to 8 weeks. Eleanor told me she was very sorry but the EQ3 never notified her about the fabric being on back order and that’s just how EQ3 works. I was very surprised as the fabric I chose was the stock fabric in which EQ3 samples their product but I had no reason not to believe her. I asked her if EQ3 would be willing to give me any discount for delay if I waited for another 8 weeks and. Talk about adding insult to an injury, I was offered 7% discount!!! 7%!! Not even 10%!!! Needless to say I canceled the order and called EQ3 to express my frustration and guess what? Turns out my order never was even processed, the fabric I ordered has never been on back order and it has always been in stock. EQ3 had no knowledge of «Under the Roof» at all. When I emailed Eleanor and Jeffrey (I believe he is the owner but I’m not sure) with this information, they never even responded back. If anyone still wishes to go with this business that has no integrity, I hope you’ll have a better experience but I am for sure done with them and I’ll be spreading the word

Warning on Shipping Policy! Any furniture you purchase from this store will be shipped attached to wooden pallets and you will be expected to dispose of the pallet or pay UPS to take the pallet with them.
I have purchased furniture from this store before and never made to keep the shipping pallets.
The two customer service representatives I spoke with from Under the Roof were extremely rude and unprofessional and would not let me finish a sentence without interrupting me.
The bed frame was supposed to arrive on a Friday from 12 – 5. I had to miss work to make sure I was home for this delivery, which I was ok with. The delivery never arrived and I never received a call informing me of the absent delivery. The following Monday I received a call to reschedule the delivery for the next day (Tuesday) from 2 – 5 and I was promised I would receive a call at least an hour before the delivery as a courtesy. That Tuesday I received a call at 12:30 from the delivery driver who was already outside my house.
I called UPS and they would not take back the pallet even if I delivered it to one of their shipping facilities. They said they picked it up like that. I called Under the Roof and they said it’s the same thing as bubble wrap and cardboard boxes. Really? Can anyone else out there easily dispose/​recycle a pallet?
What’s the point? Be wary of stores like this as they usually don’t care once they’ve been paid!

Ordering our bedroom set from Under the Roof was a great experience! The prices were great, and even though a particular piece from Copeland wasn’t listed on their site, a quick call confirmed they were able to order it. When our set arrived, it was well packaged and everything was as we ordered. There was a small crack on part of the bedframe, that appeared to me a manufacturing defect. A simple email to Jeff at Under the Roof was all it took to resolve this. He worked with Copeland to have the parts mailed directly to me, which took around two weeks. This was fantastic customer service! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Under the Roof to family and friends, and will certainly look to them for future purchases.

I’d been hoping to buy a certain Asian-​inspired bedroom set from this retailer/​etailer for several months. Eventually the opportunity arrived and I was able to purchase the set. The service, product quality, and price were all great.
First, the communication and cooperation from the company was amazing. They worked with me to send the shipment on a specific day from the east coast, to arrive on a specific day from the west coast, so I could be here to sign for the goods.
Second, the shipment arrived exactly on time, was in excellent condition, and looked incredible when I got it upstairs and out of the boxes. Some minor assembly was required, but was manageable even without the enclosed directions.
Third, the price on line was a great value. I have sought out similar items online– I did have several months to research this, after all. Under The Roof turned out to have the best prices AND the best service. I highly recommend them, and hope to purchase more great furniture from them soon.
