Expensive sushi but definitely worth every dollar. Had an energetic waiter whom was super entertaining and knowledgeable. Loved the atmosphere. By far, best sushi I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of sushi.

If you love sashimi as much as I do, this is definitely a place to try. The difference between Sushi Fix and other japanese restaurants is that you can actually taste how fresh the fish are. The Mr. and I started with the tuna poke and the grilled squid. They were both really good and seasoned just right. Next we ordered the assorted 10 pc. sashimi platter, naughty ninja roll(yellowtail, big eye tuna, snapper & avocado wrapped with red and black tobiko, unagi sauce, spicy aioli and tempura flakes) and a spicy tuna roll. The sashimi tasted so fresh and it was so satisfyingly good. If I could, I would’ve made the boyfriend order his own but he was lucky I was feeling a little full already =p. The naughty ninja roll was huge and oh so good. I really like that they do not chop up the fish together and left them in chunks so we could taste the freshness of it. That was a definite plus with the Mr. The spicy tuna roll, as simple as it is, I always order this roll at every Japanese restaurant I go too just because, but even with this simple roll, you can still taste just how fresh it is. I am a really tough critic when it comes to sushi so to say that this place beats every other sushi restaurant, maybe not price, is definitely a place you want to try.

What a great experience — Anna the waitress was incredibly professional — providing recommendations to us as first time visitors. Not a large beer selection but the food was exquisite. The crew was warm and engaging. So much fun! Can’t wait to go back there!

We came in here Wednesday night and had the best experience! Even the bathrooms were awesome, decorated with sumo wrestling wallpaper! We sat at a table in the dining room, our server was Cody and he was awesome! We wanted to try new things so cody recommended the Silly Billy. There were 4 types of fish plus eel and some type of sauce. So good. He also recommended the yellowtail cheeks. OMG, so good! Grilled to perfection. The sake was… sake. but we really had a great time here. Billy, the owner, came by and said hi. All in all, we truly loved this place.

Best sushi in town! I was worried, stopping at a sushi place in the suburbs, in a strip mall, but the reviews were good. I am glad I stopped to try it! I went right when they opened. Saturday. The sake was second to none. I like mine cold and a little sweet. It was $ 20 so we shared one. Next time I might skip the edemame because it was kind of a small portion. The specialty rolls were so fresh and full of flavor. We also got the smoked squid, for something new. It was good but I don’t think I would order it again. Plan on spending $ 40-$ 50/person in order to get the full experience. Well worth the money though!

Sushi Fix has the best sushi I have ever had. It is always fresh and the restaurant will close if there is not enough fresh fish. Billy and all the staff are great. I have never had s bad experience or a dish I didn’t like. I also highly recommend the seaweed salad.

Great sushi for the Midwest. Fresh and high quality, what more could you ask? Maybe not as artistic as some of the high end west coast eateries, but that’s OK. The variety of dishes was a big plus, i.e., not just your typical rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. Good sake selection, pleasant service and casual ambiance. Easy parking a big plus, and you can stroll around Wayzata downtown after dinner. Generally my favorite sushi joint in the TC.

Good sushi, decent service. Wait was a touch long for a restaurant at 60% capacity. Minus 1 star for the rice quality and amount in the unagi rice box. I would go back again, but wouldn’t order the box. The rolls were on point!

You know, it wasn’t bad by any means but I’m torn between 3 and 4 stars. The restaurant itself is nice albeit a little crowded. If you’re there with just one other person, the tables are so close next to you and behind you that you’re almost a part of everyone else’s conversations. I won’t include that in my rating since I guess that’s really more of a personal preference. First off, the good: –Great atmosphere –Easy parking, even on a Saturday night –Very fresh sushi The not-so-good: –The service –The price –The service The food was great, don’t get me wrong, but for what you get, you’re paying $ 3-$ 4 more per roll than most other places in the country with a similar menu and quality. On average I spend around $ 100 before tip on a date at a sushi restaurant but don’t normally leave still hungry. Unfortunately not the case here. The most disappointing aspect of this restaurant to me was the service. Maybe someone didn’t show up for their shift or they’re currently understaffed, not really sure, but when you’re charging upscale prices you should offer at least average service. My water glass was empty before our food even arrived and it was never filled. I would have said something to the waitress before I was done with my meal but I couldn’t find her! Getting the bill was an even longer wait. Overall, the food was good but between the service and the price, this definitely won’t be my new«go to» sushi place in Minneapolis.

Finally found a sushi restaurant in the twin cities that I like! Knocked a star off because the rice was only so-so, but the quality of the fish was top notch, the salmon, toro all melted in my mouth!!!

Great fresh sushi and a great selection of specialty rolls and appetizers. We got the hamachi jalapeño and squid starters and the silly billy and ninja rolls. Also a side of uni … Everything was delicious and large portions!

Don’t let the name or strip mall location scare you off! We NEVER venture outside of Mpls or St Paul for sushi but we did after reading a recent review of Sushi Fix. Well let me tell you it was well worth the drive. The Screaming O roll is the BEST sushi roll in MN hands down! The blend of ingrediance with the smokey grilled flavor and the raw fish is an eye rolling experience! The agadashi tofu and hamachi kama are also a party in your mouth! You cannot go to Sushi Fix without trying a Japanese whiskey, Japanese craft beer or single malt scotch! For a light and refreshing cocktail I recommend Happy Endings… mmm. Billy the owner makes them with the utmost care and he is a charming host! Dan the bartender is also a great host! We will be back again without a doubt! Thank you Sushi Fix for a delightful experience!

I had a nice experience here, the sushi was excellent, the sake tasted great but it’s on the more expensive side. I got the wayzata roll and my girlfriend got the mexican roll which were large and very filling! I also ordered a saki drink which was almost $ 20! I figured I would treat myself since it was Saturday night but that is kinda over priced for the suburbs of MN in my opinion. The saki menu didn’t have any reasonably priced options compared to other sushi places in general. The place was pretty packed on Saturday night but I got a table right away by the bar area. This restaurant is a great addition to the downtown Wayzata dining scene but be ready to drop some $! You get free parking though!

Friendly service. Pleasant environment. Quick seating. Sushi — ok. Out of the items we ordered, we weren’t wow’d by any, and they were all ok. Our starters — edamame and seasweed salad — just ok. Something like a Spicy Tuna roll should have been far more flavorful, and the Dynamite and Jackie Chan rolls were ok — nothing to «write home about». Dessert — green tea mochi ice cream — don’t get it. Everything, though, was clearly fresh. Would we go again? Probably not any time soon. We’d check out a bunch of other places first before coming back here if we couldn’t find anything better.

Omakase was a pretty cool experience. Never put complete faith in a chef to put out whatever he wants before. Had a little trouble with the poached egg on the first course but it was yummy when I finally was able to grip it with my chopsticks. The fried jalapeño dish was pretty spicy even for me and I normally can handle a pretty high degree. The sashimi slices seemed fresh and melted in my mouth. Was less impressed with the rolls though. Was quite spendy at $ 50 and some of my friends weren’t even full after the 5 courses. They ordered some shrimp tempura udon. I ordered a beef udon which was still yummy the next day. It was thoughtful how they packed the noodles and broth seperate… even giving me a small container of flakes(forget what they are called but it’s made of some kind of seafood… perhaps shrimp?). Overall the ambiance was intimate and it was a great place to have a fun girl’s night.

Hands down the freshest sushi in Twin Cities area, by this I mean the nigiri pieces. 1. It’s very hard for me to find uni in the Twin Cities. They are often not fresh, or restaurants are always out by evening. This place gives a generous amount of uni, and it is very fresh! Slightly sweet, and a mousse-like texture! It’s my favorite nigiri. I think it was $ 8.95 per order. I had to place another order at the end of the meal! 2. I recently watched a Youtube video that talks about toro, the fatty parts of a tuna, so I had to give it a try. The appearance was similar to red meats, but it tasted very creamy and fatty. The sushi chef put some wasabi in it to offset the fattiness. To me, it was almost similar to the texture of sake(salmon). This was also $ 8.95 per order. 3. The grilled squid appetizer was one of my favorite part! It was grilled to perfection, at a perfect chewy/crunchy texture, and the sauce compliments it very well. 4. The George Clooney roll was highly recommended by the sushi chef, but for my personal taste, it is a bit on the sweet side. The contrast between mushiness and crunchiness and the jalapenos on top were great combinations! 5. We also had a few other nigiri: sake, sea bass, sweet shrimp, and ika. All were very fresh! 6. It was a little bit pricier than other sushi places in Twin Cities, but I am willing to pay more for the fresh fish and great service!

I have to say, I’m quite sad to give this place only 3 stars. I’ve eaten here 3 times(take out) and have had very mixed experiences. The sushi is pretty good, they do a really nice job, have fresh fish and interesting combinations. Our first time getting take out was great, no issues, the food was pretty good. I would caution that a lot of their rolls are incredibly spicy and that takes away from the fish, I’d stick with Sashimi! The second time, they forgot 2 of our sushi items and took an hour and a half to get a take out order when we were told it would only take 45 minutes. I understand that you’re very busy on a Saturday night but 1.5 hours?! I was pretty disappointed, called and spoke with the manager and just asked that they take the items we didn’t receive off our bill. They went further and took off the whole bill which was extremely generous of them. I was told they appreciate our business and wanted a second chance, so we did just that. The following week I ordered again, they swore they double checked the order. We got home, got a phone call and were told the broth on our Beef Udon soup had been forgotten. It was just another disappointing experience as we couldn’t eat the main dish we had ordered. I really wanted to love this place and have it be my new go to spot but they just can’t quite get their take out side of the business together.

Hmm. where to begin with this review. As much as it hurts me to say this, I feel I hyped up this placed a little too much, and it only deserves 3 stars. *GASP* I mean I really wanted to like this place because I enjoyed the food truck A LOT but in all honesty this place is mediocre in my books. As a self-proclaimed sushi snob, I will explained why this place needs a little more help. So brace yourself, this may come off a little harsh, and I do apologize. First rule of thumb, never ever ever let your bed of sushi rice fall a part as it is being picked up NEVER… Not only does this show poor craftsmanship, this is the first rule of thumb for any sushi chef. Not only that, but the sockeye salmon was flaking apart on top. Ughhh. Second why is the rice still warm? It should be to a certain degree but not to a point where the fish’s natural flavor is masked by the heat of the rice. NG, not good. I honestly couldn’t tell you how disappointed I was with this place. Okay, maybe the other reviews like the atmosphere and overall friendliness of the staff, great… awesome…A+ but what about the food? I guess this is what you get, when it comes to sushi in Minnesota… overpriced piece of fish.
