These guys are great, we have 3 dogs and all the staff treat them with respect and care. I would recommend this Animal Hospital very highly.

Terrible. The vet who does acupuncture does not put down a blanket for the pet. She had to keep leaving the room to check Chinese medicine cures, even though she bills herself as a practitioner of veterinary Chinese medicine. When a friend’s dog started drinking lots of water, she called the vet and was told not to worry as long as the dog kept peeing. Eventually, after a few months of this, and after my friend kept taking the dog to this vet about once a month for checkups and to make sure everything was okay, the vet did some blood work. Then she looked at my friend and said«Doggy has only liver problems, right?» Well, wrong. For over a year this dog had elevated kidney numbers — which should have been in her chart! So what, after all these signs of possible kidney failure this vet couldn’t read the chart or make the connection?! This dog died from kidney failure. But what made it so terrible was that she was in pain for a long time, and she wanted to eat but felt too nauseous. She could have been given subcutaneous fluids or something but the vet at Reems Creek couldn’t make this connection. Also, for some reason I never made the connection between dogs’ excessive panting and their being in pain. I had an arthritic dog who was panting all the time and was on arthritis medication, but it apparently wasn’t strong enough. Not until I changed vets from Reems Creek to Animal Hospital of North Asheville was I told that his panting could be the result of discomfort. I was livid. How could the vet at Reems Creek not know this?(How could I not know this? Except this was my first dog and I just didn’t make the connection). This place is over-priced and the service to the animals absolutely sucks. At least to my friend’s dog and my dog, both of whom spent much more time in unnecessary pain than they had to.
