service — slow, seemed like they weren’t expecting to be as busy as they were ambiance — not much, very casual low end chairs & tables food — marvelous, wonderful, delicious! My hub had the new york steak-tender, perfectly cooked med rare and well seasoned. I had a delicious perfect burger. My nephew(8 yr old) had a fairly plain burger and declared it awesome. Their beer battered fries are some of the best fries I have ever had — lightly beer battered, adds a wonderful crispiness.

They started out well but now they are only open from 5 to 8 in the evening. The prices are a little bit above average and the food is ok, but Quality of the food and atmosphere of the restaurant do not cannot justify the prices.

It is rare that I will take the time to review anything unless I either find it really good, or really bad, but I felt the need for this little gem. My family and I found ourselves in this little town on a day long road trip and by the time we rolled into town we were famished. Of course we turned to Unilocal to find a good suggestion and found this place and thought to give it a try. The restaurant was plainly decorated,(too many white walls for my taste) if the owners are reading this, a colored accent wall would go a long way in making your dining room a bit more interesting. We actually considered trying another place after sitting down, the waitress didn’t seem super friendly but I am so glad we decided to stay. I had the Black and Blue burger, my Dad had the Philly Cheesesteak and my Mom had the Portobello mushroom burger. They were delicious and I don’t say that lightly. We normally drive to a restaurant out in Dunsmuir(over an hour drive) just for good burgers and this places burgers are honestly just as good. So even if you have to stare at a dining room that looks unfinished, it is worth it for their delicious food!

Best food in Weaverville by a mile. Absolutely fantastic ribs, tacos, and other amazing dishes. Can’t recommend this new establishment enough. If you’re driving 299 between Redding and the Coast, this is your best bet to stop for a bite along the way

Delicious burger, great choice of beer and wine, and friendly service. We ordered our burger medium rare and it was perfectly prepared. I ordered the chipotle sauce which was delicious on both my burger and their delicious beer battered French fries. I’m looking forward to our next visit.

The burgers are crave worthy as are the sweet potato fries. I haven’t been able to finish a serving in one sitting and was pleasantly surprised at how well they reheat. I can’t remember the name of the burger I get but it has bacon(huge thick delicious bacon!) BBQ sauce(sweet and spicy, I always ask for an extra side for the sweet potato fries) and Serrano peppers(on the side because I like to control the heat) and awesome smoked cheddar cheese. They have a good kids selection also, my daughter loves the mac and cheese(think deep fried and bite size) Oh! You gotta try the garlic fries, I’ve never had them like this before but they are delicious!

Ate dinner here when we visited Weaverville. The food was excellent, steak done to perfection and a baked potato that was avtually baked. The shrimp scampi was delicious. Big portions and very good service. Definitely worthy of 5 stars.

Update April 2015. Much better. Adding two stars. We got prompt service and the food came out quickly by friendly staff who knew what they were doing. The kinks were definitely worked out. Be prepared to be really hungry because the serving sizes are all huge. We split the black and bleu ribeye — still too much. I liked it. The salad was excellent. The loaded potato was perfect. To earn a fifth star, from me anyways, I’d like to see more petite servings, priced accordingly, and less of everything swimming in butter or oil and salt. But these things might earn a fifth star from others. Extreme comfort food. They offer a burger with 16 oz of beef, 4 bacon strips, four types of cheese, onion rings and caramelized onions. Sure I didn’t have to eat one, but it shows you which way the place leans to. And then they offer dessert. — — — — — — — — — — — We gave the place a try in Nov 2014 after La Grange closed. At that point in time they had lot of kinks to work out. Very slow service, especially since they were still using uncomfortable cheapie chairs. You could look in on the kitchen operation and see more befuddlement than activity going on. The heating didn’t work right — we sat on the right side of the store and shivered despite being close to a space heater. Diners on the left side were too warm. Having said all that, the food was good and the place showed promise. We’ll be back in Weaverville hopefully in the spring and we’ll give it another try. I hope they make it, and I’ll be happy to change this rating if things have gotten better.

Welcome to Meat Heaven, a land of tasty tender big steaks. A true Steak House. It was 8:45 on a Saturday night and we’re hungry. They close at 9:00 but they gladly let us in anyway, great first impression. We were seated right away, no problem. Very professional and friendly service. BUT, the best part, of course, was the food. It’s difficult to articulate past«Wow!». You not only get one but two delicious sides, salad and THESTEAK. One of the best, tastiest, juiciest, tender and amazing steaks I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection. Worth every penny. I would put the food quality on par with the famous House of Prime Rib in San Francisco, another true meat heaven. The sides are generous and compliment your perfect steak quite well. I got a double order of onion rings, these boys know how to deep fry. Only in Scotland have I found fried food done properly, so they’ve nailed it. They’re brand new at time of writing this so they’re still waiting for their booze license to come in but they’ll offer you corkage for you’re own bottle of wine, which I think is a nice thing to offer. If you find that they may have run out of something, don’t be dismayed, this is your assurance of freshness. Better to sell out than stock things frozen. That shows integrity. And to find this little gem of meat miraculousness in Weaverville was a real treat. The town is lucky to have them. Ironically, I think I sat near another person who has also reviewed this fine establishment. They came in with«issues», to put it politely, don’t listen to anything negative anyone might say about this place, they don’t know what they’re talking about.

The loss of La Grange in Weaverville was a triple blow: 1.) It closed due to the death of a good friend of ours(Sharron, the owner, who was truly one of a kind) 2.) La Grange was our best restaurant in the county and where we went often 3.) We lost our best recommendation for our guests at our vacation cabins. We didn’t get in to try Beckett’s Trail’s End until this week, and were really impressed by the food and service. It can’t ever match La Grange for ambience, but the food was superb. We ordered a lot of food to give the menu a fair try and just about buried ourselves, thanks to generous portions. The dinner salad includes very good baby greens, red onion, sunflower seeds, bacon and some shredded cheese. The bacon and cheese weren’t necessary, but I’ll bet a lot of people like them. Granite Chicken is two full chicken breasts with BBQ sauce, green onions and Asiago cheese in between. I think there was bacon in there, too(also not necessary). I took home ¾ of it! My husband had the Black & Blue Steak, with a Cajun rub and bleu cheese. It was perfectly cooked for medium rare and a wonderful, tender cut of Angus. Sides we tried were onion rings(perfectly crunchy); mushrooms with garlic, butter and wine(very good); sweet potato fries(came exactly as ordered, well done and delicious) and baked beans(sweet and mildly spicy). All were top notch, but across the board, they were pretty salty; next time we’ll ask them not to add salt to anything. Desserts were mud pie and moose tracks. Both had a bunch of whipped cream on top and most was pushed off, but they were tasty and reasonably priced. We’d heard Trail’s End was pricey, but considering all you get(salad and two side dishes), they really aren’t. The Granite Chicken was about $ 21 for the full dinner. The Black & Bleu Steak was a little more, I think. Also, they feature wild salmon(the only way to go), some interesting salads and burgers in the lower price range. We’re anxious to try more dishes next time. Their beer and wine license is pending. Hope they feature regional beers and Alpen Cellars wine. The service was terrific. Our waitress was fast, cheerful and enthusiastic. She zipped between tables and kept everyone happy. We are thrilled to have Trail’s End up here and will be sending a lot of business their way!

A steakhouse without steaks? It was nice to see a new place open after La Grange closed, but after a few months in operation this place is still working out the kinks and needs some serious work to make a go of it. I’m not big on writing a poor review for a place that is fairly new, but in this case I think they really need to pay attention to some of the details and everything I’m writing here I have heard from other locals. First of all, when we arrived(2 ppl) we stood in the entryway for almost five minutes while the cook and waitress told us that they would«be right with us.» When we were finally seated I was surprised to see that the waitress was apparently overwhelmed with just three tables — a single man at one table already eating and two women at another table also already eating — the third table was a family of 8 or 9. I’m sorry, but having a single large table should not prevent you from at least seating two people standing at the entryway for five minutes. As we were handed menus we were told that they were out of filet mignon, ribeyes, rice and baked beans. We were also told that we would have to pay a corkage fee for the bottle of wine we brought. We had been told that they don’t have a liquor license yet but that they were allowing people to bring their own. Now, I have absolutely no problem with paying a corkage fee at a restaurant that serves wine — they have to make their money somehow — but I have never heard of charging a corkage fee in a restaurant without a liquor license and I worked in the hotel and restaurant business for many years. So, we started out the meal with three strikes against the place(wait to be seated, out of steaks, corkage fee) Ok, so we ordered ribs with other sides that they had. The sauce was tasty and my friend had a very nice looking half rack. Unfortunately, I must have gotten the leftovers from the weekend(we were there on a Monday) because it was shrunken with half of the bone sticking out and only moist due to the sauce. The sliced mushroom side dish was salty and had way too much garlic. I love garlic, but this was like eating garlic with some mushrooms rather than the other way around. Due to the long line from the kids at the 8 top for the single occupant restroom I went outside to relieve myself only to get locked out by the cook who closed up at 6:50PM just as I was heading back to go in and four guys were approaching to have dinner. I guess it was their lucky night — they headed up a block to another restaurant. As we were leaving we asked the waitress if they would have the steaks back on the menu the next night(Tuesday) but she told us that they wouldn’t be getting a delivery until Thursday. I hope they can make a go of it and provide another place to eat in Weaverville, but if our visit is any indication they have a lot of work to do to be successful.

Yummy, juicy, scrumptious hamburgers and fries! Just recently open and can get busy and they only have one waitress who also helps out in the kitchen so don’t go if you’re in a hurry. The burgers are worth the wait!

The food here is really good! I had the special of the day, Fish Taco’s and they were the best I have had. The waitress was super friendly and checked on us often. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have a limited amount of time. Our order did take longer than I thought it would, but it was worth the wait!
