Things started professionally, the manager came and looked at what I had to move and quoted me a price, and even gave me a discount for being a state employee(which is also advertised on their ad). But, unfortunately, when moving day came… things got weird. First, the movers were 2 hours late… which meant that I was sitting at my storage unit waiting. Not packing, not moving other things that needed to be moved, but waiting due to the fact that they were supposed to be 30 mins, then 45 mins, etc. late. Once they arrived and started moving I breathed a little sigh of relief as they were very careful with everything and packed the truck beautifully. They were polite and commented on how easy the job was for them because things were so well organized. I thought maybe all my previous fears were unfounded. But then, we started unloading and it started raining. One of the two movers was gracious and kept working right alongside us. But, the other one was disgruntled and wanted to «wait the rain out.» We declined as they were already several hours over what was estimated for the move, the rain was steady but not hard, and it was getting late and we had to have the truck back. If we can move in the rain, so can the professional movers who are getting paid to do it, that was my feeling. So, we finally finished, exhausted and hungry. This is when things got even worse. The disgruntled employee came into our house as if he owned it and sat in the middle of the living room demanding pay in cash, more than what was quoted. Since he thought we should pay more than the regular price for some reason, he was really upset about his boss giving me the 10% discount and tried to argue with me and was intimidating, raising his voice(and he was a big guy). I was shocked and afraid. I called his boss, who was not available and left a message telling him I was paying what was quoted and he could contact me if I was mistaken. I never heard from him. I also told him that his employee was being rude and unprofessional and he didn’t address it. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone, dealing with the attitude and intimidation factor is not worth it. The one of the pair was very unprofessional and I would say the same for his boss for the way the whole job was handled. I wish we could give the other guy who was hired with him 5 stars and a better tip than we did(I was afraid to give him more than the other guy because he was so irate and thought he would really lose it then). You are really in a vulnerable situation with movers. You want someone you can trust and hold accountable, which is not Mighty Movers.
