Awesome authentic German food and the staff were very sweet people, love bratwurst.

This is a hidden gem in Southwest Missouri. The atmosphere is very charming, as guests eat in a kitchen off a barn, while chatting with the owner/chef Roswitha, listening to German music, and doing traditional German toasts. The beer and wine are great, the modest plates of food are rich, and desert is a must. By far, one of my favorite places I have ever eaten. Roswitha’s is open Friday and Saturday evenings for dinner. I would recommend calling ahead of time and telling Rose you are going to be there as seating is limited. Phone number is 417−642−5343

I have been looking for a good German restaurant for quite a while now; I am still looking. I was expecting a meal like I was used to from Germany but this was not it. The food was okay but not great. The portions were incredibly small compared to what you get in Germany. The schnitzel in Germany covers your plate, here it is almost the size of two decks of cards. The side dishes in Germany are large, here they are quite a bit smaller. The beers in Germany are large, here you get 11.2 ounces — what comes in the one can. The flavor was pretty close but a bit lacking. Overall not so good but still decent considering I am not in Germany. Will likely not visit again.

Bar none the absolute best German food you will ever eat(unless you go to Germany, even then I’m not so sure it isn’t the best)… Try the Rinder Rouladen with a side of spatzel. Now for the fun part… This place is located in a barn north of Joplin about 8 miles up. There is very limited seating but it is way worth it. BRINGCASH. they don’t accept checks.
