This location always serves a delicious breakfast. We love coming here with groups as well. They are accommodating and it’s easy to order a variety of dishes. They are typically busy so we like to call ahead or use the get in line app instead of waiting.

Their menus say, «Locally Grown,» and says they buy locally produced products whenever possible. I asked the manager what they have that is locally produced and he said they carry no locally produced products, but in the summer they will get some. Said they get their eggs from Minnesota and need to get their eggs from someplace safe. Couldn’t they work with a Missouri farmer to produce cage-free safe eggs? Couldn’t they get Missouri made maple syrup? or Missouri baked bread? It would be more than twice as expensive, but at least their statement of buying locally produced products would be more true. I would give them a four or five stars if their menu said nothing about locally grown. But I feel lied to. The fact that they don’t have locally grown items doesn’t bother me; it is that they are using the new buzz word, yet when it comes to local products, I doubt they are no different than your average restaurant. Service is fast, and I like that they put the coffee pot on your table.

The place was packed and ready for business. Waiters and Hostess worked very well together as a team and gave great service. However, the food was very blah. I ordered the BLTE and all I could taste was the multigrain bread. Literally I couldn’t find any flavor in anything. My girlfriend enjoyed her butternut squash soup. I just couldn’t see the hype at all. Nothing wrong with service or cleanliness etc… Just food was nothing to write about. ~ The End

I’ve been to this First Watch on many occasions for breakfast and the food and service is consistently good. Lunch is good too, but I have only been for lunch a couple of times. There is usually a line to get in at peak times on weekends, but they usually do a good job turning tables and managing the queue. They are family friendly, and there are usually children around. The place is always clean. No Bloody Mary’s or Mimosa’s on the menu here. But, that’s ok as long as you know that going in. They could be a little more generous with the gravy portions, so I deduct a half star then round up to 5 They have specials everyday to keep things interesting and several healthy options on the menu. I give it 5 stars«in its category»(chain restaurants, specializing in breakfast & lunch). Way better than Denny’s, IHOP, or Steak’nShake because the food and service at First Watch is way more consistent.

This was a quaint little breakfast place that I really enjoyed. One of my clients had me meet up with him here for an early AM breakfast and chat. It is located in a really hip(and apparently, newly rejuvenated) section of downtown Webster Groves, a St. Louis suburb. The menu could be described as «artisan» as it is most certainly not a greasy spoon. Most of the breakfasts are light and geared toward a more discerning and health conscious diner. I went with one of the specials listed on their large chalkboard which consisted of 3 corn tortilla breakfast tacos with fresh avocado slices and a side of black beans. It was pretty damn good with a delicate flavor profile, though I think adding some fresh pico to the mix would of set it off even better. The quality of the coffee was also pleasant surprise. Very bold, strong, and just enough bitterness so you know that you are still drinking coffee. I killed half a carafe myself. Service here was pleasant and prompt and pricing was only a little bit more than what you would expect to pay at a more traditional breakfast diner.

Came here after a workout with some friends. Was pleasantly surprised to find such a healthy menu and reasonable prices. The eggs bene, biscuits and gravy, and bacado omelette were delicious. Def coming back!

Service is always quick. The food is good but the scrambled eggs are pretty bland. i can make better at home. I did enjoy the blueberry pancakes though. Parking in this area of Webster is always a beast. There are two public lots nearby but don’t park in Straub’s lot or it will be off with your head.(joke here)

I love First Watch and have frequented the Clayton location. This one is just a bit closer to my house, so my boyfriend and I decided to try it for our Valentine’s Day breakfast. I ended up ordering the Potato, Bacon, and Tomato Hash I have always loved. Unfortunately, our waitress made the experience less enjoyable by making us feel rushed even though we were sitting at one of three tables that were occupied in the entire restaurant on this Tuesday morning. Otherwise, my meal was good and the seating arrangement was better than it was during our last visit to the Clayton location. I enjoyed the Day Glow juice too!

First Watch, like others have stated is a pretty darned good diner. You’re not going to get flambeed crème brûlée and organic poached eggs… or other various pretentious breakfast stuff. However, the service is quick, the people are friendly, AND… I can throw together whatever I want on the menu and they will match it up to the closest and cheapest menu item… I don’t do many carbs, but I needed a pile of cheesed scrambled eggs with hot sauce and avocados and bacon after a race one morning… they did it!

Had the French toast! amazing. Would suggest if they could add a gluten free menu;it would be great to bring more friends who have dietary restrictions. Price was great too. Good experience.

Good location(staff, service, and all) and tasty healthy breakfasts. They have only had a long wait one time(on a Sunday morning) that I’ve been there. Close parking and short waits are important for places like these who serve lots of seniors. I can’t speak for their lunch foods, but their omelets and mushroom dishes are excellent. Between nutrition and a dash of creativity, I think they have done all they can to do the American breakfast well.

I have never been a huge First Watch fan, but my recent venture there changed my mind. It always seemed like someplace someone’s grandparents might go… Especially if they were health conscious… I don’t know. The good part of that? They were very accommodating to my friend’s specific dietary needs. Unrelated ly good? Their seasonal menu included pumpkin pancakes… Which were *awesome* So as long as it is fall… They will have my business every day I have a doctor’s appointment on W. Lockwood.

First watch has never been great for the price. Decided to give it another chance since William likes their Belgian waffles. I had to clean the bench and table before I could sit down. Took forever to get replacement napkins. The food, as usual, was just okay. William always orders his bacon chewy. It came out crispy. Server said they couldn’t do it any less crispy or it would be under cooked. I told him it had never been a problem before. He came back with some different bacon and bragged that he was able to get it when it was«still hot from the stove!» What? That’s not the norm? Have of my breakfast potatoes were hard as rocks! Will not return!

Descriptive phrase: great brunch chain, bad particular establishment. I’ve been to the First Watch in Clayton a number of times and have enjoyed everything about it. It’s big, open, airy, has outdoor seating, and the food is always fantastic. My experience was not the same in Webster Groves. One plus Webster Groves had over Clayton: the wait in Clayton is usually 30 minutes, while we were seated immediately in WG. This location is on the quaint little main street, but there’s limited parking and no crosswalk on the busy street. The inside is very small, with an open kitchen where staffers were obviously just milling about. The coffee was not very good, which didn’t bode well for the rest of the meal. I ordered the Bacon and Onion Hash($ 8.29). When it first came out I dove into the buttered English muffins, which were delicious. I had ordered my eggs sunny-side up, and they came completely covering a bed of meat and potatoes underneath. Luckily I cut up the eggs completely before taking a bite. Once the egg-cover had been pushed aside, I noticed a hair. Out I pulled an EXTREMELY long, black hair with pieces of bacon and onion wrapped in it. To say this hurt my appetite is an understatement. When I notified the waitress she simply said«mmm delicious», grabbed the plate, and went back to the kitchen. Another plate was brought out very quickly, but this resulted in a meal that was not very well cooked. When she returned the waitress did apologize and say she’d take it off the bill. I’m not sure if the second dish was poorly made, my appetite was gone, or this particular order is not good in general, but I did not really like my meal. It just had no pizzaz, which I have never lacked in other First Watch meals. I will return to First Watch, but I won’t come back to the Webster Groves location and I won’t order the Bacon and Onion Hash.

I want them to open a location in Nashville, TN. The chicken hash thing was fantastic, as was the french toast and bacon. I was also pleasantly surprised that the calorie count for First Watch is in myfitnesspal. The disheartening part is that there is very little in the joint is heart-friendly. But hey, it was well worth the workout later.

I have been to First Watch a couple of times now. For me breakfast needs to be an experience. Service has always been excellent. You ought to go just to see the menu. It’s huge! I’m sure if they don’t have it on the menu they could probably whip something up custom. Their omlettes are amazing. I recently had their Bacado. Yep. It’s got BACON! Bacon, avocado and Monterey Jack. Topped with sour cream and served with a side of housemade salsa. I also recommend their Gravy Train omlette. If you are hungry go to First Watch. They do carry whole grain toast and they will event butter your bread for you. Bottom Line: My new favorite breakfast spot.

This place is STUPID busy in the mornings which is to be expected for a breakfast joint but we waited 30 minutes before being seated and then another 15 minutes before our server came by to ask if we would like anything to drink or to take our order. I ordered the eggs Benedict w/ham and tomato and my wife got the Belgian waffles. My eggs Benedict were poached entirely to hard! I could have replicated this breakfast by placing a boiled egg on top of an un-toasted English muffin with some Buddig processed deli ham, mealy tomatoes, and slathered it with bagged pre-made hollandaise sauce… and if if couldn’t get any worse, the side of seasoned potatoes were burnt black . My wife did enjoy her order of Belgian waffles and scrambled eggs but we had a inattentive server and the wife waited over 5 minutes for her to bring maple syrup. First Watch is NOT worth the wait!

Breakfast for lunch sounds pretty good. The menu offers a lot of healthier options; cholesterol free eggs, sugar-free syrup, a section devoted to a «healthier side» of breakfast items. But the portions are still large and hearty. Their website offer nutritional info, as well as low-carb, gluten-free and allergen information. We were greeted right away by our server and offered a fresh cup of coffee. Our beverages never went empty, a sign of good service for sure. I went with the French Toast with sourdough and suger-free syrup, it was served with a blueberry compote. The other option was raisin bread. The hubby went with their Veg’d Out Omelet using cholesterol-free eggs, no extra charge for being healthy either! The omelet had all the veggies you could imagine; onions, mushrooms, celery, zucchini and broccoli, topped with tomatoes and melted cheese and served with an English muffin and diced potatoes. My French toast was good. Good enough to eat it all, but nothing super special about them. Just your standard French toast breakfast. The hubby’s meal was good too, the potatoes were crisp almost like they were baked rather than fried in an excessive amount of oil. Again, good but nothing special. It’s like a Denny’s all-American breakfast but without the grease. It’s like a Panera Bread Co. lunch with their pick-two options but with a server. It’s as fast as a diner but not open 24⁄7 and it attracts a different class of customers. I wasn’t blown away but I wasn’t disappointed.

Great place for breakfast! Lots of indulgent and healthy options alike. I get the Bacado — a bacon and avocado omelet with cheese. They do their omelets right and don’t add pancake batter and other fillers to make it bigger than you can eat or taste. It comes with home fries and a buttered English muffin. Yum! I like the Webster Groves location better than the Clayton location. Parking is easier, and I always feel like we get seated quicker at this location.

I’m not a huge breakfast person– my boyfriend is ALWAYS trying to get me to eat breakfast and I usually opt for more sleep instead. But this morning I woke up earlier than usual and was ready to get up in lieu of going back to sleep. I had a huge craving for BREAKFAST. So off we went to First Watch. I always order the oatmeal, which comes with cranberries and walnuts in it and bananas, brown sugar and milk on the side. It also comes with an English muffin. It hit the spot! It was hot, came out quickly and we had good service. We also shared some First Watch potatoes, which are delicious! Is this an upscale place? Fancy? Nah. But it’s cheap, fast, and consistent. A-OK for a breakfast craving in my book!
