Applebee’s

Webster Applebee’s again for dinner with friends. This time they got it right! All of guest were very satisfied with meals. French onion soup was good and cheesy which I love!!! Loaded mash potatoes were hot and came in a new serving in a bowl. New item brisket enchiladas were good comes with jalapeños so be careful. Very good dinner and good company. The BATHROOMS Were Very Clean Also Only a mote because usually they are not in good shape.

Yesterday we went there right after it opened at 11am. Everything was dirty! Bathrooms had over flowing trash and had not been cleaned. Floors were dirty. Table was not wiped off well. Service was good. Food tasted good but the place needs to be cleaned thoroughly!

So I ordered the grilled shrimp and spinach salad. This comes with a clogged artery inducing hot bacon vinaigrette. Well mine did not. I had meetings the rest of the day and no time to remedy this travesty once I got back to my office. So I called the manager and told her that she ruined my entire day. Yes, yes I did.

We did our annual visit to Applebee’s to use our Delta Sonic Christmas coupon. Our expectations are realistic — this is Applebee’s after-​all. The server was very friendly though perhaps a bit over-​anxious to take our order without us even looking at the menu. The riblets with the Asian chili sauce were quite good though the riblet itself is an odd cut. The fries were very good though some would think they are too salty. The cole slaw was ok. The cheese/​bacon quesadillas was pretty bland. Overall it was a good experience for a chain restaurant.

We went there for a drink to kill time while waiting to see midnight Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I was obsessed with Bloody Mary recently, so I had one at Applebee’s. It was much better than the one I got from Daily Refresher the night before. The bartender put four olives in my drink. It’s very spicy. I managed to drink all lol.

I’ve eaten at Applebees in the past and had a generally satisfying experience, but I’ve had several bad experiences at this particular Applebees now. The events that triggered this low review happened when I stopped in for lunch with 2 of my coworkers a week ago.
First, I ordered the shrimp and parmesan sirloin with mashed potatoes… and the potatoes had some hard «things» in them. I don’t know what it was and I won’t speculate, but when I pointed it out to the waiter he speculated that it was probably just «black potato parts.» He didn’t take the mess away, let alone offer me a new order of potatoes sans the hard things.
The rest of the food was fine, but nothing to rave about. Even with the weird stuff lurking in my taters, I wouldn’t have written a bad review if not for the disappointing staff.
The last straw for me was when we got back to work and my coworker realized he didn’t have his cell phone. After searching the car and office we concluded that it HAD to be at the restaurant. He called and the woman who answered said no one had turned anything in and terminated the call.
My coworker, after more searching, was positive it had to be there, so he drove over. The same woman who answered his call so tersely addressed him with annoyance, reiterating that no one had turned anything in to her. When my coworker asked to speak to the bus-​person or waiter from the table, she stormed into the kitchen… and then emerged with (lo and behold) his cell phone!!! Just like that.
Questionable food, huffy hostesses, and bumbling waitstaff. I’ve not sworn off eating at Applebees in general, but I’m avoiding this particular location. There are lots of other restaurant chains in the vicinity, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I’d choose a different one.
