Berryhill Baja Grill

This location «closed for remodeling» just before the holidays. I’ll bet it never re-​opens. They had a zillion issues: service, food, cleanliness, facilities, you name it – but they had great, reasonably priced house margaritas. I love the review about the bug in the guy’s drink — we also saw it and heard the bartender’s comment, «He’s a regular.» They also had a scuzzy vibe going with some of their regulars in the bar. It’s a miracle they were open as long as they were. Good riddance.

Service was horrible. The lady that was the waitress/​bartender on Aug 3^rd at this location either hates women or hates her job. She never cracked a smile. It took forever to bring us our food and drinks. Our bottomless mimosas were inconsistent, too weak at the most. Keyword is bottomless, don’t get mad that we want to keep it coming. The only nice server in there was the older gentleman clearing out the tables and bringing the chips and salsa.

The appetizers and the fish tacos were awesome. Actually the fish tacos here are the best fish tacos I’ve had in a long time. The wait staff was friendly and our food came out pretty fast. Overall it was a pretty good experience and will definitely come back pretty soon.

Long story short: the food and drinks are good; the service is not.
I really used to enjoy this Berry Hill location, but lately the terrible service is keeping me away. I’ve been there perhaps 5 times in the last two months, and the service has been progressively worse each time. The waitstaff are inattentive, and twice I have had to walk around the restaurant to try to get the check from my waiter… and both times, the waiter was hiding in a booth, playing with their phone. Today, I was seated and ignored by the waitstaff for 20 minutes. My party and a couple of others being ignored walked out.

The best fish tacos (come on Mondays 1.99 fish tacos!!!) also queso was good. Service was ok but I was sold on the amazing fish tacos. Over all good eat.

This is our corner «lets get a margarita» joint that we probably visited 10 times during my visit. The drinks were good but fairly expensive considering the area.
The food isn’t bad — and honestly when compared to Lorenzos down the street this place seems gourmet.
I’ll come here time and time again when staying with family.

I eat at this Berryhill about once or twice a month.
Pros:
* Good meeting place for my friends and I. Cozy booths and they let us stay as long as we want, just sitting and talking.
* $ 1.99 taco nights! So cheap!
* I think the food is really good. All I ever get is tacos. No sides.
* The margaritas are really good and made with fresh ingredients.
* The complimentary chips and salsa are so good!
Cons:
* This particular location is not the best because of the atmosphere and service.
* I guess because it’s in Webster and not Houston, they allow smoking. I do NOT enjoy the smell of cigarette smoke while I eat.
* The last few times I’ve been there they played very loud rap music. I’m ok with rap music, but it was really loud and I don’t think it’s the most universally appealing type of music.
* The waitstaff is kind of dopey. They don’t seem to know what they’re doing or much about the food and they’re not very attentive.
Overall, I go to this location because it’s convenient. Otherwise, I much prefer other locations. I gave THIS location 3 stars. I would give other locations probably 4.

If you like bugs in your drinks… then this is the place for you! I recently watched a bartender fish a gnat out of someone’s drink, after I said «that’s disgusting» she proceeds to chuckle and say «its OK… he’s a regular». If this is how they serve all of their food and drinks, then I never want anything in that place ever again!
