Always done a first class job teaching me and my son. You don’t have to buy a horse to be in this barn and you can be on a budget. Very professional!

I have ridden all my life, but have always shown paints, so this was my first foray into the saddlebred world… and what an introduction! Teddi is wonderful, with both horses and humans. She takes the time to make you feel comfortable and explain things thoroughly. It’s also clear that she takes great care of the horses, knowing the strengths and limitations of each one. I also felt very comfortable hanging out in the aisle way talking with her, her staff, and other clients. They know how to unwind and have fun! I would definitely recommend Teddi!
As for the grounds… situated at the foothills in Gilroy, the views are stunning and the barn is beautiful, with a long center aisle way and a covered round pen at one end– great for rainy days! The outdoor arena is huge, with a nice covered sitting area for friends and family to watch.

First all I want to say that Teddi is a vey good instructor. My daughter who is only 4 years old just finished her lessons and she learned a lot more than what we expect. However on the other hand, I have to say that the administrated skills that Teddi has are very poor. maybe she needs to hire someone to help her on that side of the business. We had the same experience that other did. No return phone call, nor emails, late for lesson, cancelled lessons, running behind without notice … It was very frustrating.

I am a beginner rider and was recommended to this barn by a friend. The owner is very professional and definitely helped me feel relaxed on the horse. She was a great instructor and I will definitely take another lesson from this barn.

Purchased Groupon for the horseback riding classes on June 30th 2011 for my 8 year old son. We had the same experiences as others to schedule classes. Finally we settled for the month of Nov. I sent a reminder email to Teddi… I got an email back this morning 10-​31-​2011 that she cannot do it and wants to return our money. If she was too overwhelmed as it seems, she should have refunded our money a long time ago. This person has no regard for other people’s time or money. Especially since our 8 year old has waited 4 months and now we have to disappoint him with this news of cancellation. I would have gone else where. In the mean time we have seen another groupon for these classes… what is going on here???

I recently had the experience of getting back in the saddle again. I showed w/​Golden Ridge Stables and had the most amazing time. Teddi, the owner was super nice and sweet at the show. She was very kind to me as I was super nervous. Her entire gang took me in under their wings and care! I felt like I «belonged» there. I will certainly becoming back and look forward to going to more shows w/​this group!
As far as the groupon people: I’m not a fan of groupons! You pay nothing for a deal and then want everything for it. Be patience w/​the people on the other side!

I’m very concerned it was a scam by this company GRS. I purchased Groupons, have emailed and left a voicemail and no one is returning my messages to honor the groupons. Anyone else have this experience? What a waste of time and money. My little girl will be extremely disappointed that this company cannot be trusted.: (UPDATE: This is a very small outift (w1 person) so scheduling is extremely difficult. She did get in touch with me upon seeing this to try and resolve. Ultimately, Groupon did the right thing and gave me a credit. This just wasn’t going to work out. Updating as I got a few messages from people with the same issue. Maybe Groupon isn’t a good fit for a 1 person business. Good luck to everyone.

I would definately recommend riding lessons at Golden Ridge Stables. The owner/trainer/instructor’s number one concern is for the safety of the rider. She has started children as early as 3 and as old as 70. She instructs every step of your ride which keeps you engaged with your horse while learning. The lesson horses are well cared for and fun to ride. It is obvious that Teddi has a great love of teaching and helping her clients achieve their goals no matter what their budget or ability level. You will walk away having learned something good!

My 15 y.o. boy has taken lessons here for the past two years and I cannot more highly recommend Golden Ridge Stables for anyone who is looking to ride first class lesson horses and the expert instruction that goes along with it. The facilities are great and there are different rings to ride in, some covered, and there is a mile track too.

I took a riding lesson from this place and it was a great instruction. I felt they really cared for me and the horses seemed to be really well taken care of. The place was nice and well maintained. It was good for a beginner or even someone advanced. I definitely recommend taking a lesson here. I will be going back.
