My mother and I have been fans for years. King Food recently revitalized their menu and it’s even better so I thought I would add my kudos to the other happy ratings of this reasonably priced and family owned small restaurant. Don’t expect an elaborately designed setting, just good eats. Mother and I stopped in yesterday to split a Tsingtau beer and to each get an order of spring rolls. We both noticed how much larger our springs rolls were than they had been in the past. The shrimp in Mother’s spring rolls were very good sized and mine were made with delicious char-grilled beef. You can order them with peanut sauce and/or Nuac Mam Cham.(I would drink Nuac Mam Cham by the gallon if I thought no one could see me…) The other spring roll options were pork, chicken and tofu. Also, we have noticed on other recent visits that the the overall portion sizes on dishes have increased so you will be either(1) happy and full when you leave or(2) happy to tote some home for later. Happy King Fooding!

Ok so my husband and I are here the other day And it was decent. My husband had the phở and I will say it was above average good. I had the orange chicken, I was not impressed in fact I was so unimpressed I didn’t eat but the first bite. I had the lady take it away and she was really apologetic, but it wasn’t her fault I didn’t like it. I ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls for an app and those were amazing which is why I gave it 3 stars and not 2. What really put me out was when we went to pay she charged me for the orange chicken I didn’t eat. I paid for it and I know it had nothing to do with them but you would think she would have either not charged me for it or asked me if she could replace it for some thing else. Anyway with all that said I will most likely go back because the egg rolls were that good. Happy eating :).

Been a regualr take out place for my family for years. It’s our favorite place to get Chinese food. The best is the garlic fried chicken wings. The inside definitely looks better than the outside.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. My wife isn’t a food critic, but she’s got the palate for it. She says the hot and sour soup is perfect and we love the vietnamese egg rolls. I’ve also enjoyed the seafood soup and the chicken phở. Believe me, this place rocks it!

I have been loving this restaurant for 30 years now because it is absolutely the best Chinese food to be found. With all the competition around every corner, King Food’s longevity at the same local speaks volumes about it’s loyal custom base. Stop in and order anything. It will be the best. Be warned… once you eat here you will compare every other Chinese restaurant to King Food and find the others lacking in some way.

Meh. The Unilocal reviews are misleading. Neither my husband or I were very impressed with the food. We had hot and sour & wonton soup, mu-shu pork, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, and chicken lo mein. The lo mein was the best of what we ordered. The dishes were quite one-dimensional. The quality of meat in all of the dishes was sub par and the restaurant looked like it needed a thorough cleaning. We won’t be returning.

I have eaten at this restaurant since I was a kid, and it is still amazing. The Vietnamese fried egg rolls and the hit and sour soup are the best around!!!

I have driven past this place for 20 years. I never stopped in because there were never many cars in the parking lot. We were recently craving Chinese, I got on Unilocal to find a new place, Sooo glad I did. Everything we had was very good. So glad we finally tried them, just wish we had found them 20 yrs ago! They been in business for 27 years.

Not exactly ‘kid friendly’ — at least no kid menu or coloring page to offer. Soft drinks are served out of a can, while tacky, does work, but it gives the general feeling of ‘cheap’. The menu was pretty blended, almost over saturated between chinese and Vietnamese. We ordered a chicken low mein(chow mein if your from the west coast) without veggies for our 4 year old — it wasnt bad. I ordered the teriyaki chicken without veggies and it came out with green onion(so not cooked to order) the chicken breast was cut up and then nearly drowned in teriyaki sauce — the only thing I didnt like was the taste of the chicken… a little off. My wife had some egg roll meal — way too much food was served. She finished about a ¼ of it. We finished most of the chow mein but left the rest. We are visiting on vacation and have no place to store left overs… but I think we would have passed on these left overs anyway.

I wish I could eat here every week. The orange chicken was so tender and juicy. If they had a location by my home it would be idle situation. Check out my pics for there yummy spring roll. I’m done reviewing and I’m ready to eat. Mon mon mon

Very good wings and spicy shrimp. I liked it very much. I recommend. Eggroll wasn’t my favorite.

We ordered delivery through Space City Takeout. Vietnamese Egg Rolls, Combination Fried Rice, Egg Foo Young Vegetable, Phở Tai Nam, and Charcoal Broiled Pork with Vermicelli & Salad. Everything was very good. Not the best I’ve ever had but very very good. If I had one complaint it would be the sauce for the egg foo young was thicker then I like, but hey, that’s just me.

I went today for the first time in a long time. Like someone said this place has been here for many years. I don’t know if it has changed hands. If you went today you might be frightened off by the strange appearance. Apparently they are renovating the exterior. I had the General Tso’s Chicken on the lunch menu. The hot and sour soup was good, the egg roll was giant. I think due to its size, it wasn’t crisp like I like, but it wasn’t soggy either and it was tasty. I’m fussy about General Tso’s and theirs was different than my usual but I enjoyed it. ___ I’ve Eaten Out Every Meal for 25 years

Egg roll was great General Tso’s was ok. They cut it thin vs the usual rounder cut. Fried rice — decent, not great. I’ll continue to look for other places.

Love the garlic chicken wings! It’s not small size wings, they are big and the sauce is buttery garlic goodness! My family and I always order take out here for parties or when I don’t have time to cook. Price is very reasonable for the portion size I get.

Kung Pao Chicken is AWESOME! Friendly Staff with great fast customer service. I order my lunch by phone and by the time I get there my order is ready to go.(5 – 10 mins).

We tried KFCR based on recent 2013 reviews, all of which rated highly. First the good — the food is indeed good. The bad — the staff was completely untrained, unknowledgable and exhorbantly slow. For starters, my fiancé’ ordered Tsing Tsao, the standard Chinese beer. The waiter had NO clue what we asked for. I told him, «you know the basic Chinese beer.» I even pointed it out on the beer menu. The guy stood their absolutely clueless and said«I don’t know.» Really? A woman heads over and takes the drink order. We get the beer. The guy comes back to take our food order, one of which was a Spring Roll appetizer. In the distance, a family of 6 who had ordered before us — stares at walls and ceilings waiting for their food. One family member is finally served. The hungry Mom leans over to take a fork full of food from her son. The daughter starts texting friends while the rest of the family stares at the one boy with food. At our table, no appetizer in sight. My entrée gets served. My fiancé sits staring hungrily at my food. Eventually, he gets his meal. Still no appetizer. I call out to the Manager, the woman in Scene 1. I ask about the appetizer and tell her about the beer issue. She says the kid is her nephew who was born here(the U.S.) so he does not know about Tsing Tsao. I exclaim, «I was born here and I know what Tsing Tsao is,» come on! Still no appetizer. She says«we busy.» Uhh, no there weren’t. Only 4 tables in the whole restaurant had customers. I ask her, WHAT do you do when you have a full house? Anyhow, we never got our appetizer so I’m back home now, eating peanut butter on toast because I am still hungry. In closing, food is good but eat a small meal before you go otherwise you will go hungry.

This is a Chinese restaurant with Super Vietnamese food on their menu! It’s a place that has been here for many years. I have been a regular here for many of those years but most of the time I prefer take out, to eating here. The staff is friendly and ready to please their customers.(that’s why I feel very comfortable asking for special orders) My favorites are the Vietnamese egg rolls & the Vietnamese pork n noodles. Delish!!!
