If you don’t have a Texas ID, don’t waste your time with this place. I’m 25 but they wouldn’t take my SCID even though it scanned, matched all of my credit cards, and matched the SC licence when they looked up a picture. Made me wait for 15 minutes while they talked about it then finally turning me away. So yeah, probably a fine experience if you have a TXID, but if not, do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time going there just to be turned away at the door.

****MUSTREAD**** Simply put this place is just a juvenile Karaōke/pool hall/watering hole. I have been there several times and am also in the bar business, as well as most of the people that join me. We go there as sorta like a late night dive bar because it’s local. Recently, it seems the owner of this high class establishment has decided to put in what I was told to be, «facial recognition» software at the front entrance. Meaning they take your picture from a laptop at the front door after they check your valid ID card. Supposedly this new protocol is to ensure your face matches the picture on you ID. About a week ago I refused to have my picture taken(along with several others) as I am 36 years old. The front door guy said if I don’t get my picture taken I can’t get in. Anyway, all six of us left and went to another bar. Last night I went there again(this time with 10 people) and had everyone wait at the front door so we could all walk in together and deny our picture being taken(again). We wanted to see(since we are in the industry) if they were actually stupid enough to allow 10 paying customers with valid ID cards to walk out(again) and take their business elsewhere. This time one of us was 40, another 50, and two other bartenders that used to work there for YEARS. Guess what happened next?! We all left and spent money elsewhere else once again! Oh, AND it’s the last time any of us go there again. If you have a front door guy that can’t prevent minors from getting into your bar maybe you should pay him more than $ 8 an hour, or simply fire him and train a new one. Either way I don’t give fat crap because until that laptop at the front door disappears, they will never see me or any other bar industry faces in there again if I have anything to say about it. We are posting this ridiculous crap on every social media sight we can come up with to make sure everyone knows if they wanna go to Reno’s to say, «CHEESE» at the front door!

Went here for a bday party last night. We had a good spot in the back, plenty of room for lots of food(we brought our own food, sandwiches, dips, crock pots, cake) we were with someone that worked there so idk if that’s why cold bring so much food. Regardless that was cool. The bar tenders were all very friendly and were very quick to serve. And the place is HUGE! Drinks were a really great price. I’m from downtown so it was nice to not have to pay an arm and a leg for a drink. The karaōke was actually cools lots of good singers there was a lot of pool tables. They were in good condition. The bar is very very smoky though. I feel like my eyes still hurt and my throat feels like I smoked a pack by myself. So I didn’t enjoy that part. The furniture could be better but I’m not complaining. The guys in the front were not very nice. We were with a large party and was helped thrown by someone that works there. The girl that worked there told us someone had reserved us a pool table for an hour and to go get the pool sticks and balls from the front. We had a table near us that had a «reserved» sign on it near our table so that was nice. But when we went to the front they were telling us about prices and wanted our ID. We told him it was under the persons name who was throwing the party and they looked in the list and was like nah not here give me your ID and you’ll have to pay later. We tried to explain about how the guy throwing the party was paying for everything and to put it on his tab and they just weren’t getting it and continued to be very rude. We just gave him the id and took the stuff. After an hour we returned it and he wanted us to pay and we tried to explain to put it under the guys name who was throwing the party and they still didn’t get it and continued to be rude. So we walked all the way back to our table in the way back, got the guys card came back to the front and gave it to the guy. He goes we gotta go to the bar with this to pay. So we go to the bar and the girl says oh we already have a tAb open for this guy I’ll charge it under that. THATSWHATWEWERETRYINGTODOTHEWHOLETIMELIKEOMG. No need for those guys to be so rude! All the girl employees were very very nice but my interaction with some of the men was not pleasant at all.

I’ve never had a bad night here! Always entertained between the drinks, singing, dancing and pool. It’s rarely crowded because it’s huge, and the smoke isn’t too bad but I’m a smoker so I suppose I’m part of the problem. They’ve got a great song selection and the KJ isn’t perfect but I’ve rarely seen ones that are.

Too bad this is the only karaōke bar in the area. The KJ is a witless moron that lets the same people sign up under different aliases so they can mess up the rotation for everyone. The same group of buddies bogart the microphone and invite each other up to the stage. The smoky atmosphere makes for an emphysemic hell hole where the people caterwauling can hardly catch their breath for the 3rd rendition of Sweet Caroline in the past hour. Skip this place and sing along with YouTube videos in the unbiased, clear air of your own home.

Reno’s is a mixed bag for me. It’s a little smoky, like others have stated, but that doesn’t bother me much at bars. You can still breathe here, but if you want a smoke-free bar, this isn’t for you. There are ample pool tables. Even on a busy Friday night it won’t take very long to score a table if that’s your thing. The cues and tables are in pretty good condition. Reno’s is appropriately divey, so everybody’s somebody here, like Luckenbach, lol. The drinks are cheaper than most places. Strangers are mostly courteous and friendly. The bartenders and other workers here are funny and friendly, too. And if you don’t feel like dressing up too much to go out, no one seems to care much here. There are long folding tables where you can sit down and drink and chat with whoever is nearby. I like that setup. The karaōke setup here is rather good, and there’s a dance floor. Unfortunately, the music itself leaves a lot to be desired. I’m not a huge country fan, and almost every song they did here the Friday night I last visited was a slow country ballad, and I was nodding off. The same two chunky girls with cracking off-key voices sitting on stools seemed to get a lot of stage time, despite the fact that people were cringing at their lame caterwauling. I’ve visited before in the middle of the week, and there were singers who could actually carry a tune with some force and stage presence, and not just sitting on stools butchering country songs; they stood up and did rock and R&B that was danceable. So I guess when it comes to the music here you’re rolling the dice. So there you go. If this sounds like your kind of place, you’ll probably love it. I’m not a huge fan, but it’s not the worst, either.

Worse smoke I’ve ever experienced in a bar. Zero ventilation or air flow. All the furniture looks as though they were found on the side of a road. Terrible drinks and beer selection. This place needs to be featured on Bar Rescue.

Sooooo smokey. If you have allergies or are allergic to smoke proceed with caution. During the week isn’t so bad but I made the mistake of going on the weekend and my eyes were watering and my nose was tingling. I don’t really play pool or karaōke but it’s a fun place to hang out with friends. They’ll even let 18+ enter the establishment(but not drink of course). So if you have a group of friends where half are able to and want to drink and half who aren’t 21 yet, it’s a fun place to play pool and listen to some great karaōke. I don’t know if it’s only on the nights I’ve been but the singers were AMAZING. granted there were a couple terrible ones but that’s to be expected ;)

This bar is tucked away in the Garden Ridge shopping center. The first time I came I almost missed it and I was looking! Once inside though it is much larger than you would expect. They have plenty of pool tables as well as seating, although some of it looked a little shady(ie– super old couches…). So what’s the appeal? The karaōke of course! This bar is great for people watching too seeing as how many different types of people all converge here for some good old fashioned karaōke. You just can’t go wrong with that! The only downside to this place is the actual bar, where service is extremely lacking(slow & no smiles) but this is definitely my favorite karaōke place in the good ol’ CL.
