Ribs are very good and so is sauce! Salads are horrible but if you forgo the salad they will let you order an extra set of potato skins which is a plus. Food usually comes out pretty quick but they keep raising their prices and $ 34 for a rack of ribs is over priced in my opinion. If they were priced more fairly then we would probably eat there more often.

I have been going there for at least 25 years ! The best ribs I have ever had in any town, state or any country I have been in !!! When we have family come in from out of town, Dee-Jays is the first place we take them, they still rave about them. Dee-Jays is the ONLY place I will eat ribs !!!

I don’t care for ribs, but my Aunt and boyfriend do, so we drove to Deejay’s to make up for the fact that we didn’t have time to sample Tenessee bar-b-que on the way up to WV from TX. My boyfriend never ever finishes an entrée; we both have eyes-bigger-than-stomach syndrome. He polished off a full rack of ribs, and ranted and raved about them. It is a little pricey, but no more so than your average chain steakhouse. If you can get over the pink flamingos, tiki torches, and general wtf décor nestled in the mountains of West Virginia, try it out.

Ambience: did they get the décor from Don Ho? Tacky, tacky! Food: ribs are cooked to perfection! Literally falls off the bones. Excellent flavor. The smashed potatoes are tasty as well. Try the local draft beer, Yuengling. Service: promptly seated. Attentive. Could not ask for better service. Overall, when we are back in the area we will definitely be back here.

My co worker and I traveled to DeeJay’s from Pittsburgh for the first time as someone told me I needed to try their ribs. When we arrived, we were excited by the smell of ribs outside in the parking lot. We both ordered the Super Rack at $ 33.95 each which is supposed to be two racks. Each meal comes with two side dishes. I had a salad and green beans. The salad was decent. No complaints there other than the dressing was poured all over the salad. Make sure to request dressing on the side. The green beans were nothing more than canned with some bacon in them. I was expecting fresh green beans and that was disappointing. My Co worker ordered sweet potato fries and they were good. The ribs were tender, but extremely small portions. They cut their racks in half and serve them as full racks when they are really just half racks. So a Super Rack is nothing more than a full rack. My Co worker finished a Super Rack and could have eaten more. To give you a sense of the size, the rack bones were the length of my pinkie finger. I have attached a photo. The taste of the sauce was tangy. Not a dark sauce but kind of reminded me of Open Pit which I hadn’t eaten in years. It was good but I felt bad that we paid so much and drove all the way out there when we could have stayed in Pittsburgh and gotten far better for our money. If you live near DeeJay’s, this is probably a good place but certainly not a place to make a 45 minute drive to see. I am glad we went, but I am going to get my ribs somewhere else in the future.

Really good ribs!!! Tacky tropical atmosphere in Weirton WV. Aaaahhh perfect !!! First off if you are in a hurry go early especially on weekends. If you have some time during peak hours put your name in and make your way to bar and enjoy the wait. It is well worth it. Ribs are fairly pricey but the portions are large. Don’t bother with anything but the ribs… and of course the potato skins. Best Ribs in tristate area No question

My boo and I drove about 40 mins from Pittsburgh to try this place. We weren’t disappointed. It was about 3 pm on a Saturday and the place was poppin. We didn’t have to wait tho. The décor is totes adorbs in there. Like a lil tropical oasis on a rainy day. Everyone told us to order the ribs but the smallest rack was $ 17 and not that I’m cheap I just don’t really like ribs that much. Lol. We ordered potato skins and let me tell ya — best tato skinz I ever ate. Dunno what it was about the sour cream but it was bangin. And the ranch dressing — 4⁄5 stars. My boo got the my main man burger– that sucker was humongous(see photo). He loved it. I got a pulled pork sammich. I liked it but my boo said it was gross. Whatever. LOL. Anyway. I’d come back here and get ribs if for some god forsaken reason in ever in Weirton West Virginia again.

Deejay’s is the Ohio Valley’s best kept secret– however, it’s no secret! The atmosphere is great, the restaurant is well maintained and always very clean. I have never had a issue with the servers, always very attentive. My girlfriends and I don’t let a month go by without meeting up and having dinner at Deejay’s. My personal fave is the BBQ Burger, however the ribs are to die for! NHL teams eat them when they are in town, why wouldn’t you want to give them a try?

Excellent service. Very nice bar. Could have a better selection of craft beers like he had at the Pennsylvania Avenue location. Try the stuffed banana peppers. Only complaint is you may have to wait if crowded which it normally is.

Can I give it six stars? You arrive at this cheesy tropical themed place; yes, tropical and definitely rib joint. Ample parking but obviously crowded. There were people waiting but it didn’t appear that it was a very long wait. Everything was clean, including the restrooms. The staff was fantastic and you weren’t pushed out the door when you were done eating. Now, about those ribs. I’m not huge on eating ribs … a lot of effort for little payoff. I ordered a hamburger, everyone else got the baby backs. I was given one to try; I regretted the hamburger after that. The hamburger was very good but the ribs made it pale in comparison. The meat was literally falling from the bone, the flavor was perfect and I’ve been craving them ever since. None of the bones had any meat left on them and nobody had to ‘pull’ any of it off. Just order the ribs, you won’t regret it!

deejay’s is a cool place. the ribs were good. the potato skins were good. the palm tree decorations are cool. the waitress asked me if i wanted powdered sugar on my sweet potato fries and i said, «that’s a thing?» and she laughed and said«yes, that’s a thing,» and i said sure because you gotta try new things, ya know? my date(and by date i mean, the boy who takes me out to lunch because i help him with calculus) said, «it’s like funnel cake.» true enough. the sweet potato fries come with a delicious maple butter dip and if i were to go back for a specific purpose, that would be it. overall it was nothing too spectacular but i had a good enough time.

4 stars, not 5, due to cost. Great place to eat with good food but it’s a bit pricey for the area. Awesome ribs.

Had the rack of ribs, they were delicious. The service was outstanding, very attentive, very polite. The atmosphere was great as the place was packed, yet we didn’t need to speak loudly to hear each other.

First, I love the tiki motif of Deejay’s. Second, I’ve never had a bad meal here. My boyfriend loves their ribs and said they are some of the best he’s had. I don’t eat meat but there are plenty of fish options and I’ve tried different things, the crab cake sandwich is great. The prices are worth it for the amount of food you get and I almost always end up taking food home. Service is always great even when they are busy.

Food: First time as a patron. The price of the food does not match quality. The only thing half decent was the ribs. The sauce everyone says is good in my opinion was generic tasting. The sides look like they came off a high school cafeteria line. The potato skins are frozen and reheated on order, smothered in canned cheese and bacon bits? Not my idea of a good time. Décor: Upon entry the lighted palm trees where awesome and that is where the awesome ended. I understand that restaurant is privately owned and funds can be tight… The décor felt like walked back into the 90’s. Plastic ivy galore and peeling wallpaper. Overall: Not worth my hour drive

I wish I could find ribs as good as Dee Jays closer to home… but I can’t. They are the best ribs I have ever eaten. Tender, lean, fall off the bone, with just the right amount of delicious bbq sauce. I’m sure there are other good items on the menu, but by the time I pull into their parking lot, I know I’m getting what I’ve driven from Pittsburgh for: a Ribette(smallest portion but still just right), cheese and bacon on my potato skins, and their perfect ranch dressing on my salad. Owner Dewey and his team have been serving their outstanding ribs for a long time, and the ribs I ate yesterday were as good as the ones I ate at their original location over 20 years ago! I have introduced many friends and family members to Dee Jays over the years, and we all look forward to our next 45-minute ride from the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh. Thanks for your efforts Dee Jays!

Don’t let the Tiki Bar look fool you, Dee Jay’s is a rib joint. There’s not a lot of choice in the immediate area, but this is a good one regardless. The portions are generous, the services is usually very friendly & attentive, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there. They do stick with regional traditions like french fries on your salad(odd to a guy from MI), and potato skins as your side with ribs, instead of fries. Whatever you do, you have to try their Hot Banana Peppers. Banana Peppers stuffed with hot sausage, covered in cheese and marinara sauce. Outstanding! Hidden behind the bar is the private Casablanca Room with slots.
