Spicy Gringo’s

Awful service and awful food. The menu was definitely on the short side, not many options to choose from compared to other places in the area. The waitress spent more time complaining about her job and the other guests than she did waiting tables.
*UPDATE: After posting this review, the business owner contacted me personally apologizing, and offering to go above and beyond to correct the situation. I was very taken aback and impressed, and will give this restaurant another try as he suggested. A+ for this business owner who cares about the image and satisfaction of his customers.

I eat at this restaurant all the time. I love the food and the staff is always so sweet. But not tonight. The whole staff was very unprofessional. The kitchen guy was screaming through the window at the waiter and cussing around all the customers. I sat at the bar and asked the hostess (who I guess was serving but not in uniform) to get me a gringarita she told me she didn’t know what that was. She NEVER came back. Luckily, the waiter Chris came and took wonderful care of me. He was working like a mad man and managed to be patient and sweet. The hostess refused to answer the phones, take food to tables, or do anything. After a while Farin? I think her name was (who was already off and eating dinner with her boyfriend) put back on her work shirt and helped Chris makes drinks and pick up the slack. She was very friendly and made my husband laugh but I was very disappointed in the chaos that went on there. That hostess doesn’t have a clue on what she’s doing.

This was the 2^nd time eating here. I definitely will be back for many more. The staff are all very nice and make sure everything is perfect. Met the owner tonight and it’s easy to see why they place will do well. He truly cares about his business. Very good food fresh ingredients and great place. Highly recommend.

This little place has moved to a new location and now its not so small. Trust me this is for the better. We had the new items on the menu which is a mexican version of a calzone. I had the chorizo and my wife had the chicken and it did not disappoint. This place has come far and they arent finished with the new location. I reviewed this place 4 stars at the former location but this new place really has opened up and now has room for a crowd and different food items can be prepared in the larger kitchen area. They now sell a limited amount of adult beverages now. The gringarita is pretty tasty with mango and a nice chili lime salt on the rim. Oh and dont forget the homemade salsas and hot sauce. The mangoe habanero is the best in my opinion. Now to dive into a pablo which is topped with a peanut butter mole sauce.

Great food. Great service. Daily specials are very good. I go at least once a week. Highly recommend.

I love this place. It is a great place to go after a sporting events. Defiantly try it and ask for the spicey sauces.

Just finished my first meal in this location earlier today. First, if you don’t know where to look, you’ll pass this place, but you have to turn around to get out of the ‘complex’. Even once you find it, you have to look for a sign so you enter the right door. Once inside, there is no sign telling you to seat yourself. You have to walk into the main room/​bar to see what’s going on.
Food was good, nothing great. It was filling. The free chips and salsa was a nice touch. Very good salsa I felt. I may stop here again, but I’m really going to have to be in a Mexican food mood and not want to travel far.

Amazing yet simple mexican food. Great unique creations that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else. All natural ingredients and will accommodate to those with special requests (ie. Vegetarians). Mexican calzone, Jalepeno burger and nachos are alone worth it. A must try restaurant.

Never disappoints. Everything is fresh and they are very accommodating to a vegetarian!

Stopped in on a whim to try them for a quick to go lunch. The special of the day was the jalapeño burger but being a vegetarian it wasn’t for me. Upon hearing that the staff (wait and cook) began making recommendations.
In the end the chefs in the back were given carte blanche to create something. And they didn’t disappoint.
They were so accommodating and kind, they will have my business in the future for sure.
The location is clean with ample parking and I look forward to trying some more food from there.

Very poor service. Sat at the counter for 20 minutes while the waitress fooled around with a cash register that had her baffled. She finally turned around and said «I’ll be right with you». 5 minutes of more fun trying to figure out the register she left the counter area to wait on tables.
The owner was part of the problem and not part of the solution as he was standing by a table having a con flab with some other customers.
The place will not be long for the world when you consider the overhead, poor location, and lack of customers during peak hours as I have observed while getting gas next to the place at the Ruff Creek store.

Finally a place nearby that has great flavors and excellent service. «Everything is fresh», said the waitress, «we don’t have a freezer». Great jalepeño and habenero sauces to customize to your heat level. Visited twice and had chicken enchilada’s with mole sauce… best I ever had… and Yucatan burrito, a habenero and citrus marinated chicken, very good. Even their pinto beans and rice are terrific. The passion and pride of putting out good food is evident at Spicy Gringo’s.

I thought they closed in Wellsburg and was disappointed. I just stumbled on their new location!!!
