I really love their breakfast but my goodness the service is really rough. The place deserves better — especially the back of house, as I’ve never left there not enjoying the food. But there is something about the barky and inattentive waitstaff that I just can’t get past in terms of writing a better review.

The place wasn’t too packed when I went. But it took us a little bit to be seated. Service isn’t that great.
The food: they start you off with corn bread… which was delish! We ordered the lobster roll and the soft shell crab. Lobster roll was pretty good, but I wish there were bigger pieces of lobster in the roll. I loved that I could taste the lobster instead of it being drenched in mayo. The soft shell crab was a special and it was yummy. Maybe a little too much batter on the crab for my liking.
I would come back if I was in the area.

Stopped in for lunch on the weekend, exited 1 ½ hours later! Poor service basically handled by untrained teenagers texting and chatting all the time. Food was good but order was incomplete. #1 rule seems to be never apologize for your mistakes or try to make up for them.

Newton, MA
Best seafood outside a fishing boat. All major restaurants order from Cpt. Mardins. It has moderate pricing but worth every penny. Have never been disappointed in 4 different decades
