Tijuana Flats

Wow, really another place we eat at REGULARLY, but still haven’t reviewed???
This one is simple, good food, low prices, VERY ATTENTIVE STAFF. Though Zone Fresca will always be my favorite fast Mexican, TJ Flats is a regular stomp on our eatery list and we are fans.

The reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because the food is not so great, but it’s not horrible either. It was ok in my opinion. I ordered the small carnita burrito with everything and it just came with chips and that was it, which I guess it’s ok, but when I started eating it, I felt like I was eating a salad at first and then after a few bites, then I started getting meat, and after I was done eating it, I still didn’t get as much meat. The burrito flour felt store bought too. The customer service was awesome, but the food is what really matters to me.

Taco Tuesday… need I say more. I also became a «flathead» member and received a free nacho app. Great location. It was nice to sit out and people watch. Staff was friendly and food was great. If you like heat add «smack my ass and call me Sally»!

Great vibe and cool place to eat. Good prices and food is fresh. Wait staff always walk around asking to get you another drink and love the selection of sauces. Staff is always friendly and they get the food out fast. Highly recommend the queso. They have a great selection of beers, it can be hard to get a seat inside so we usually opt for take out now unless it’s just me and my husband. Love this place and best tacos and quesadillas.

Banging chimichanga’s and burritos, never been on taco Tuesday, tried the ghost pepper sauce and thought my throat might close up, was no bueno

Went here for lunch today, and it was a pleasant visit. We initially wanted to go to the Italian place a few doors down, but alas the chef was on vacation. Hungry, and flexible we went here instead. I’ve never been to a Tijuana Flats before and was pleasantly surprised.
The service was outstanding! The party of three of us had some questions about the menu and all were answered clearly and cheerfully. After ordering the employees kept checking on us asking if we needed any refils, etc. Very well done.
The food was good, had a veggie burrito which was filling. It came with chips, and I was quite distracted by the 15 sauces available, as I kept going back for more until I found the right one. The ghost chilli sauce was amazingly hot, and flavorful.
The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars was that it seems the sauce sampling cups were a bit difficult to use. Think thimble size, which you really at that point need to pour it on your tortilla chips rather then dip them in it. However they do give you bigger cups if you settle on a sauce you really like. The whole process seemed a bit wasteful, and akward, but I really enjoyed having all those sauces to try.

I went today for lunch, Mireya helped me in making a choice from their menu. The food is excellent! Mireya was very knowledgable and helpful!
I will definitely be back! The menu has tons of options and it is pretty Health conscious! I also like the fact that their calorie count is listed on the menu! They have a hot sauce bar, and are always introducing new sauces. Cute place great for kids great for a date I’m definitely going back! :-)

Friendly staff. Food always good. Good option for a quick, casual meal. Taco Tuesday is a great deal.

I ordered a «carnitas burrito meal» and was very disappointed. The tortilla on the burrito tasted like it was from a generic brand from the supermarket and there was very little meat. All I could really taste was the lettuce and sour cream. I upgraded from a regular burrito to a «meal» which consisted of a tiny tiny portion of hard flavorless rice and the refried beans were just ok. Given the quality, I found it to be way overpriced. Taco bell would have been a much better option.

I’m a regular here and as of late, it’s gone downhill. Are they closing this location? They no longer carry the most popular sauce and no longer have sangria, it’s been like the past month! The food has always been great, so are the deals, but I’m sorry Wellington, I’ll be going to other locations from now on. I also don’t need my order repeated to me, it’s always been right, it just holds up the line.

Tijuana flats always has the best deals! We love taco Tuesday and their flatuas out to die for! We also love the atom bombs as an app, it’s their take on jalapeño poppers!

Lots of yelling here. The staff, not the customers. I mean really loud yelling!
Then the lights come on full bright all of the sudden. No warning no explanation. It’s almost 9pm and we’re the only people here. Are the TRYING to send a message? Are they closing? I went and asked. «Oh,» they said. «No, we’re not closing. Sorry.»

My husband loves this place so he takes our daughter all the time. Mierya is awesome and a huge asset to them!

Great service and food. I really like the hot bar assortment of hot sauces and the desert is good Destiny rocks.

Not for the faint of heart! The ordering process is laborious and complicated. We ended up with copious unwanted upcharges. The ordertaker was inexperienced and made many mistakes. It took way too long to order and we weren’t even offered an apology. The food is average.

the food is good and the portions but it’s nothing crazy special. wait time is always too long in my opinion, and when I come it’s fairly dead but nights it looks packed. really cool decorations to look at while i wait. could use more veggie menu options too

Food is good but ordering without pictures is a pain. Sorry I’m a visual person. I would like to at least see a picture of the food.

I used to like this place, but recently every time we go there we come out disappointed. On our last visit, the chips were pink and stale… I think they were left overs from breast cancer awareness month and we went in March. Queso had been reheated in the microwave, we could tell because the grease had separated, the food wasn’t really hot, I don’t know if it had sat there too long and the restaurant was dirty. I don’t think they had swept in some time. Won’t go back

One of my husband’s favorites and I like it very much, too. If you have kids who are picky eaters, this is a great place. My daughter loves the quesadillas & tacos… and she doesn’t usually love anything. Save room for the cookie dough flautas because they are A-​MAY-​ZING! Only reason have 4 stars is because the queso always gives me a tummy ache!

Tried this place the very first night I moved to Wellington a couple weeks ago. They were 30 minutes from closing & still politely took our food order (we’re fast eaters, we sat down to eat & then gone in 20 minutes anyway), food was made to order & the manager was SO nice to us! I thought my burrito was good/​okay but my husband absolutely LOVED it (we ordered the same thing). TJ Flats is NOT a Tex-​Mex restaurant/​chain, the other person who listed that in her review is high on drugs & most definitely NOT from Texas. I still haven’t found an adequate place for delicious, authentic Mexican/​Tex-​Med food around here. The search continues!
