This bookstore purchased a book through me on on Dec 1, 2014. The item had condition issues so I canceled the order that day, and ISSUED A REFUNDTHESAMEDAY the order came in. Hours in fact later. This was on Dec. 1. Then I also sent a note to the store email account address. Nothing. And no feedback left for weeks. So, I still went ahead and left polite feedback for THEM on eBay, first saying«Sorry wasn’t able to fulfill your request.» Nothing. Figured that was that. Then on Dec. 29th though I received a «negative feedback» on my eBay account, and«item not as described» and«Shipping and Handling» not correct or too much. What?!? Now I’ve done ebay FORSEVENTEENYEARS and over ONETHOUSAND transactions and NEVER have had ONE negative feedback. So I was surprised by this out of the blue negative feedback from the person to whom I REFUNDEDTHATDAY on their purchase. So I wrote«My Shelf Books»(kcool1969 on eBay) and asked what happened, and noted they had not mentioned any problem, not communicated in ANY way about this. NOTHING, no response. I wrote again. NOTHING. So I went through eBay and I sent a «Request to Withdraw Feedback» note, again being polite, though now direct. **NOTHING**. Not so much as an acknowledgement. So, frustrated and annoyed, and not happy having MYCREDIBILITY dragged through the mud here for their actions, I tracked the store owner down, to this location and I CALLEDTHEM. I was given the«Oh, we were REALLYBUSY so we just didn’t see it…» and«We were SOBUSY I don’t know… I’ll have my husband look into it.» Result? NOTHING. They had a WEEK to act on this. And NOTHING. And then my request to have the feedback withdrawn expired with eBay and that means that negative feedback has TOSTAYONMYACCOUNTFOREVER because these people couldn’t get it together and be bothered to reply to emails AND phone calls. Look, I get«being busy» — that’s a reasonable excuse at the best of times. But, a) the transaction happened Dec. 1 — almost FOURWEEKS before Christmas so clearly you NEVERBOTHERED to check. Second, YOUIGNORED **EVERY** EMAIL(**FIVE** in total, INCLUDING ones from eBay). And then, when I called you gave me some weak excuse about«being busy» — Yet, somehow, you WEREN’T TOOBUSY to leave NEGATIVEFEEDBACK on the 29th of Dec. now were you, but all of a sudden became busy for the next seven days again when you got the eBay request to correct your mistake??? Seriously?!? WTH. So, yeah, now I’m out and my reputation to sell on eBay is hurt. Meanwhile, in your cozy little store, shut away from reality you pretend like nothing happened. Well, something did. Get a grip and treat the rest of your customers better than I or go out of business. And please spare me any apology. I gave you so many chances to fix this. Yet you couldn’t be bothered. I was polite, business like, yet you screwed me over every time and ignored EVERY request I made to fix YOUR mistake. You put a big red«negative» on my eBay selling page. And that wasn’t fair. And when asked to fix your mistake repeatedly you ignored those requests. Confronted by phone you acknowledged it was made because you were«busy» but STILL didn’t bother to correct it though I made it clear it was important to address. So ultimately that negative is there because of something YOU did, not me. So, in the spirit of following like with like, I present to you and«From My Shelf Books» this«One Star of Shame». May it hang here and remind you that you need to do better. Much, MUCH better.

I have been in the store several times, in one visit I bought 2 big sister children’s books for my niece upon the arrival of her twin siblings. The prices were very reasonable. The staff offered their assistance, pointed me in the right direction and were very pleasant and helpful. I was quickly in and out with what I needed. No complaints. I am always happy to support local businesses and this is a great addition to Wellsboro!

Great small town bookstore. A lot of new as well as used books. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. If they don’t have what you need, the order time is quick!

Convenient, but pricey and rude!!! I really wanted Dan Brown’s newest book, but I didn’t want to wait for it to be shipped so while I was over in Wellsboro I stopped by. To my surprise, because it’s a used book store, they had it! Both employees helped me out and it was a pricey, but a good experience. $ 7 more than on amazon :/ One neat thing about the shop is that they buy used books. I have so many books and the lady gladly said ‘not a problem! She could definitely help, but come Wednesday not Tuesday’. Awesome, that worked for me, I left the shop feeling great. Come Wednesday, I arrived exactly when I said I would and I walked in and located the lady I spoke to Monday. I asked if she had time to look at my books and she gave me a «who-the-heck-are-you-look». I briefly explained what we had discussed Monday and she promptly told me she did not have time, she had other things going on at the moment. MAYBE if I had come in earlier she MIGHT have been able to help me. I could try to stop by again in 2 days if I wanted. I was floored… it was so rude, totally wasted my time, and she wasn’t even trying to remedy the situation. I was shocked at how VASTLY different my two experiences there were. So in short, it’s a cute shop, pricey, they might have have what you want, but for God’s sake don’t bother them if they are busy!!! And even if you made an appt don’t bother selling your books there!!! Not going there again unless I absolutely have to.

Pricey for what appeared to be a used bookstore and the selection was only so-so. I went in looking for a specific book, but couldn’t find it or anyone to help(and did not want to interrupt the D&D game to ask for help finding the clerk)

Used bookstore. I got a great recommendation, read it and absolutely loved it. Didn’t have a lot of time to browse, but it looked like a good spot for used books and the staff knew what they were talking about.
