We have a 2 bedroom suite, sharing a bathroom & fridge. The stairs are a bit difficult for these old legs, but the railings are sturdy and the breeze coming in the open windows is great! I miss having a coffee pot in our room, and a bit of breakfast to start our day, but there’s coffee in the lobby & a Dunkin D. just across the street, so not a big problem. The owners are friendly and full of info about the sights and events for this area. The pool is large and very clean. Lots of pool chairs are available, as well as towels. The location is central to local sights and interesting shops like a quilt/yarn store and an educational toy store. Try this motel. You won’t be sorry!

Stayed 2 nights just after Christmas. Room was clean and tidy. King size bed(fairly comfy), mini fridge in room, large dresser, flat screen tv, small round table and 2 high back chairs, and my favorite… Huge spa tub(plenty of hot water)! Reception was pleasant and helpful. My only complaint is when accessing wifi it logs you out every time your device isn’t being actively used. I logged in so many times I don’t think I’ll ever forget the password. Haha. Not the end of the world though. We are from Wellsboro and still have family in the area so we visit throughout the year… reasonable and perfectly fine place to stay.

Despite the much talked about hotel shortage in the northern tier due to the increase in the natural gas industry presence in the area, we were able to find a room at the Sherwood the Monday before the Friday we needed a room. Not only were we able to locate a room at our first choice location, but we were able to locate a 2 bedroom SUITE for $ 108. Crazy cheap(not it is winter so this was their«off season» rate). There is no online booking, but there is an online email address to determine availability. I completed my request and received a return email very promptly. I then called to reserve the room. The woman I dealt with(the owner, I believe) was very friendly/helpful. Check in was a breeze(though the entrance/parking lot is a bit tight if you have a large vehicle) and our suite was SPOTLESS. It was well appointed(flat screen in both BRs, mini frig, microwave, sleeper sofa, table and 2 chairs) and very comfortable. I’m already looking for another reason to stay here!

8÷25÷2013 Great location, friendly front desk. The room is nice enough in appearance, but cramped with a king bed, 2 high-backed wing chairs for sitting and a small round table. This is another motel that has its AC in a location that freezes anyone near it … which include the desk and sitting chairs. The bed is firm, almost hard… but very comfortable to sleep on. There are NO coffee makers in the room, which is a rarity in motels/hotels these days. To get coffee, you need to go to the front desk and lug it back to your room, which can be a problem if your room is at the far end of the property. Internet is free, but how do you connect? Follow the instructions in the hotel’s guide and you get connected, but not all the way through to the Internet. Bring up a browser and it wants a user name and password. The instructions just say call the ISP provider. It does have a note saying that if there ANY problems, call the ISP provider and pay for a connection if none are available at the hotel. I finally find a tent card with a user id and password, but a different ssid. Of course it is a ssid that does not show up as one available. I finally try the SSID listed in the room’s internet instruction and the user id/password on the tent card and voila, an Internet connection. Of course if the cell phone service were any good in this area, I could have tethered to that, but cell service here was sporadic to non-existent(Consumer Cellular and Tracfone).
