Overpriced microwaved blah food tastes so in seasoned that I felt as if I was eating at a nursing home. Slow but friendly service. Outdated Decour

So far no review. We’re in a motel debating local steak houses and NO menu offered on here? That’s too bad. K

Still only a two star. The younger your server beware, they won’t be as apt to offer dessert or remember all the details that a normal dining experience here should be including. The portions have also gotten considerably smaller as they have tried to refine the menu. I enjoy one or two things on the menu but the serving experience is what really weights this current review.

i had the chicken caesar salad, which was pretty impressive. the chicken was tender and delicious, and the house made caesar dressing was quite good. could have used a few more croutons, and been a bit bigger, but overall a very good meal. the mini crème brûlée was tasty, but i think the sugar was toasted when it was made earlier in the day instead of right before. service was prompt, very friendly, and overall good. i’d go back again.

Finally made it back to the Cottage Inn feeling pretty confident that the owner was sincere about fixing the issues that came up in our prior visit. The owner and I had previously exchanged a couple of emails regarding our last meal there and I appreciate his stepping up and listening to my concern. We came in at 6:10pm on a busy Friday night and we were seated immediately with a smile. Water was delivered promptly and an offer of bread was declined. We were checked on a couple of times before we decided on our food. A request for a lemon drop resulted in my wife being asked for ID, a sure fire way to brighten her day!!! Our server, Micki, was friendly, had a bubbling personality, and took very good care of us. A pat on the back for her sparkling personality is warranted. :-) I ordered the chicken fried steak with a green salad and baked potato. My wife had a small tenderloin with baked potato. Instead of the usual poor quality meat dipped in heavy breading served everywhere else, my steak appeared to be a tender sirloin with a light flour breading and just a little light gravy on it. Excellent flavor, good quality, and reasonably priced. My meal also had a green salad that, while served warm on a warm plate, tasted fine with tomatoes and croutons. Overall I was quite satisfied with my meal. My wife’s steak was thick but perfectly cooked. Tender and just the right amount of pink inside, it wasn’t bloody or raw. Our bakers were done without being dry. Overall, we were done and out the door after having a great dinner, fabulous service, and dessert, in less than an hour. That’s less time than we waited for our food last time we were in and we definitely were much happier with the service and the quality of the meal! Thank you, Dan, for a very nice dining experience! You’ve earned our respect and our business!

We had a family dinner celebration at The Cottage Inn recently. This was one of THE places to go 30+ years ago for high school dances and special evenings out. They have gone through some ownership changes, both positive and negative, over the years. The service was excellent. We had 2 servers plus water service for our group of 12. My husband had the cajun prime rib and loved it. I had the Fruits of the Sea. It was very good, but the portion was quite small for the price. For dessert we had several different items, all of them were raved about by family members. Overall I continue to love The Cottage Inn, but because of the high prices($ 125+ for 4 dinners, water only to drink, and 2 desserts), it will be only a ‘special occasion’ treat.

Great food but felt on the young side because of all the older folks there. It is a good spot for a quite dinner.

Excellent food, great service. We had the tenderloin and it was cooked perfect. Wednesday is the wine special, any of their wine selection for $ 5!

UPSCALECOZY, clean, love the friendly décor, consistently professional, courteous, lovely waitstaff, always welcoming. It’s a home away from home kind of place. Acoustics are good; even when they are packed you can talk comfortably with your party. Especially recommend Sunday champagne brunch — very reasonable and delicious. Blueberry pancakes are made with real buttermilk and lots of plump blueberries — not the heavy, fattening kind made from bisquick found most places. The Cottage Inn serves a very nice brand of sugar-free syrup. Another specialty is mascarpone French toast. Breakfast menu is a bit upscale — without the price tag. We also like the«Early Bird Dinner Special» until 6 pm a 4-course meal for $ 16.95(not Fridays and Saturdays), it is a great deal. Love the teriyaki kebobs.

At a glance it’s obvious that the Cottage Inn is trying to portray a «find dining» experience. They don’t and likely shouldn’t try. Their prices are 30 to 40% higher than it should be. Service is good and average.

This is a traditional American Restaurant which has been here forever. They know how to cook a steak! Salads are marginal and they should serve better bread, but the rest is good. Service is usually good but they sometimes get busy. Portions are traditional sized and prices are average.
