Ordered a to go order on the phone and they said it would take 10 – 15 minutes and it took 30 minutes. We got 3 free kids meals due to how much my family spent and they didn’t tell us until we got into the restaurant that kids eat free was only done in, and the manager wouldn’t change anything. So we ask to cancel one of them that we didn’t need and the guy couldn’t figure it out so he cancelled it and acting like he was being kind and said he would void the payment on that order like he was doing us a big favor… thanks! To top everything off they barely filled our milkshakes we ordered. Not satisfied.

Very late afternoon lunch on a drive home from working in St Louis, this was the place to stop. Walked in, placed our order and was on the road in about 10 minutes. The burgers were as good as I remembered they were. The fries were a bit cold but the hamburger taste made up for it.

Well we waited to be seated and so far we’ve sat for 30 minutes. The floor is filthy, food and paper all over the place, no paper towels in either restroom. We are visiting from out of state, I can’t figure out why this place is still open. No manager in sight. After 35 minutes our food came, no silverware or napkins. After three requests for napkins, we have given up. The fries taste rancid so I assume the fry station oil hasn’t been changed. I’m sorry I didn’t check out the reviews before I came!

I didn’t even need to go to this steak and shake to know it was going to be a fucking joke. It’s the only steak and shake I’ve ever seen with a drive-thru so that should have been a tell tale sign. The font of their lighted sign seemed off too like they haphazardly stole different letters from signs around town and Jerry-rigged them to the building. When we walked in it said«please wait to be seated», okay… why the hell would I come in for slower service than the drive thru? It’s like either getting drive thru or a slow, painful meal sit down style at McDonald’s. Either way you’re simply delaying the inevitable diarrhea session in the gas station bathroom two miles down the road. When we walked in the staff looked at us like we were sharks with laser beams attached to our heads. They couldn’t be more surprised. I shit you not this was the dialogue between us and the server when we saw the please wait to be seated sign and stood in the restaurant wondering why we are still there. Server: «What are you doing?» Us:“Waiting to be seated? Or do we seat our selves?” Server: «No not really.» Us:”…okay are you open?” Server: «24 hours. Okay how many?» I mean my god! How incompetent are you. «Not not really» to seating ourselves? Are these people on drugs? Were we just on candid fucking camera? That statement barely answers two simple questions! We for some reason sat down with menus and watched 7 employees proceed to do nothing for 10 minutes as we looked over the menu. Not a single one approached. It was like we were the mascots at a baseball game and you’re little 4 year old is too starstruck to try and talk to Dinger the purple dinosaur. Soon after we decided we must have been bat shit crazy for trying to make this dump anything but comic relief for our road trip and left. As for the steak and shake, you should be embarrassed. This is a fucking joke. I hope that this place bursts into flames tomorrow so that not a single other person will ever have to be put through something like what we dealt with. It was an embarrassment to business owners everywhere. I’ll be shocked if this place isn’t closed in 2 weeks.

Tonight I was served by the same girl at the drive-thru whom I once had to talk through a sobbing fit. Reason for the tears? I think the customers are finally fed up with the lack of service this place has, period. I asked for season salt, hoping it to be the saving grace of the always lackluster fries, what I was handed was a container of salt that was seasoned with pepper. What. The. Hell. The only thing consistent here is the lack of quality in both staff and food. Avoid entirely.

This place has gone downhill. What use to be mediocre service is now the pits. The last three visits our orders have been completely wrong. We are lucky to get drink refills. And then a 24 minute wait for 2 small milkshakes. I will say this after complaining this time, the manager gave us our meal for free. Unfortunately, we won’t be back.

Waitress was slow and didn’t pay attention. She gave me the wrong ticket, and walked away. Didn’t offer refill for water. After the food was brought she walked away. One burger came out wrong it was missing some ingredients. I sent it back with another waitress and the cook seen that I was staring at him, so he decided to be a smart ass and put up the plate and started putting the ingredients where I can see. Staff is rude and ignorant. I didn’t see a manager and if there is one then obviously he/she must be rude as well.

They employ a large group of incredibly immature gossipers… but you will still wait an incredible amount of time for anything. Even if your in the drive thru. If you go in, don’t try to order chili before your meal. You’ll get everything at once and the food really wasn’t that great at all. You can’t sit and enjoy your meal in peace because you have to listen to all the employees personal issues. Brutal all around.

Only giving one star because I eventually got to order and eat food. Had to wait for someone to take my order through drive thru. Ordered Cajun shooters, which had Cajun sauce, not any of the Cajun seasoning. ANDITWASCOLD! Fries had zero salt. I think this Steak and Shake must be owned by the same people who own the Lake St Louis location because they are equally as terrible!

The staff was nice but it took 10 minutes to get waited on and that only happened when we waved someone down. And then the burgers were terrible and took 30+ minutes. Why is Steak ‘n Shake only good if you’ve been drinking? No plans to go back sober!

I wish I would’ve read the previous reviews before going here. It was filthy in the dining room, kitchen(our table was positioned to see it) and rest rooms. We were just passing through and my husband was looking forward to it as he loves Steak and Shakes. Our food was sitting in the warmer window while we waited for our shakes. Food items were warn at best and fries disgusting! It was shocking to see so many people working but nothing really being done we were able to see many people come in and stand for a few minutes to be seated while one employee was in plain sight texting on her phone. Poorly ran operation with many other choices in the area my suggestion would be to keep going. I gave it 2 stars because our server was good and there where numerous other employees thy appeared to be working but at least a half a dozen in dead weight.

Bathroom was filthy, burger wasn’t how I wanted it, my father’s burger wasn’t correctly made either. The fries were hard and stale and cold. My mothers salad wasn’t fresh produce.

Don’t do it! My 16 year old nephew convinced our group of 5 to go here to sit down for desserts. I almost said no because we had visited through the drive-thru maybe 3 – 5 times in the previous weeks and it was amazing how SLOW the drive-thru is! Even if there is nobody infront of you, it’ll still be SLOOOW. Anyway, against better judgement I agreed and we went inside. Bad idea. Service was atrocious. Painfully slow. I mean, just downright horrible. I think this entire restaurant is run by high school students! And I’m being completely serious… That’s all I saw! Everyone was so young and walking around like they had no idea what to do. Milkshakes took FOREVER and then when they were brought to us, they were made incorrectly! The rootbeer float was so horrible pathetic looking and tasting, we told the waiter«This is not acceptable. This is not a rootbeer float made-to-order» and then he just said«well, ummmmm… That’s. What they handed me… to bring over here» And then he ran away! LOL! Shortly after, we overheard him complaining that he only got a 1.00 tip from the table next to us. You’re lucky you even got a tip! You certainly didn’t get one from me! I will never visit this place again!!! This place is FILTHY! The employees have NO Idea what they are doing! Do your heart a favor and go to Panera instead.

Terrible service. 15 minutes on the drive thru, food is coooold. Went inside to get food replaced. They did and refunded my money, but this restaurant is a hot mess, trash all over the floor. Yuck.

Where is the management? Phone is ringing, people are waiting to be seated, more tables have dirty dishes on them than are clear, and the table next to us is still waiting for their bill with a crying baby. Saving grace? The food is good!

Slow slow slow slow. Only people seated in the restaurant, but the cooks and waitresses seem to be unable to stop talking and start working. If the food was really good, that would be ok, but it’s not. Took five minutes to even get water.

Waited almost 30 minutes in the drive thru. Only one car ahead of us. This is not the first time but will be the last. Called corporate to complain .We were assured the Manager would call us. That was Sunday, today is Wednesday. We started to go to the drive thru because the inside dining at the Wentzville store is terrible.
